Which meant what? You couldn't get in? Me personally I didn't think Soxfest was that great except for the opportunities to buy merchandise. I was not about to stand in line for three hours to get somebody's autograph. But I was a newbie, maybe I didn't know WTF I was doing.
-
I didn't go to Soxfest this year (last year I did) but I heard there were problems there, too. What were they?
-
NO WAY! God this is so lame. Maybe I'm lucky I'm not going. My point is this: if you're going to have a thank-you for hardcore fans, it might be a good idea NOT TO SCREW THEM.
-
Hey Steff do you think I should write: Jerry, or Brooks? I'm not going to beach them out, but let them know that I'm a lifelong and loyal Sox fan who was so disappointed that they would run such a shoddy operation when usually they do okay. I don't have a problem with being uninvited; it's the being invited then completely screwed which I take offense to.
-
I cannot believe how fracked up this is. How could they do this to their fans? Usually the Sox are really good about things like this.
-
Is it too simplistic to state at this point: AS BUEHRLE GOES, THE SOX WILL GO? That's how I'm lookin' at it.
-
I dont' know about the email, but my boss--who is also a season-ticket holder--received two "regular" (i.e., Ticketmaster) tix in the mail. Which I did not. From what I understand, the two cardboard passes you have are NOT enough to get in.
-
Raines, I experienced the same thing. I did everything they said, followed the rules. And I didn't even get a dis-invite, they just blew me off completely; refused to call back. AFTER I RSVP'd. Yes, the original invitation makes it look like that's all you need for admittance; it's not. And to those of you who are taunting us who now can't go: show some goddamn class. Some of us were really looking forward to this. It's not funny that we got screwed. But hey: you got yours, right?

I love Buehrle and I have to say the most rattling thing about this whole slump has been seeing him getting lit up like that. It's like watching your dad get beat up in a bar brawl. Freddy and Garland we've been through this before, but Buehrle's always been our rock.

Um, perhaps you're not reading into this; I HAVE no tix, LMB. The rep didn't even return my call. I was soooo looking forward to playing catch on the outfield. -
LOL. Yeah, sometimes it comes up with weird ones. Like 30 mph. I think that's the catcher throwing back to the pitcher.
-
I would love for somebody to do an ESPN-like video analysis of Buehrle and try and figure out what the hell is going on. I've heard of players not having location, but for five starts in a row?

Oh I've been polite as hell. Thus far, no callback. I even told them I'd take another date, it doesn't have to be the 28th. -
Every game I've been to in the past three years Buehrle has consistently topped out at 88 MPH on the scoreboard gun. Almost like clockwork.
-
My co-worker thinks Mark is injured and asked about his velocity. When I saw him last Friday, he was hitting 88 with regularity on the gun, and I've never seen him top that when I've been at games (I know once in a while he'll get into the 90s), so I told him: it's not velocity. You could make the argument with Freddy, but Mark? Naw, it's something else. But I have never seen a pitcher collapse so quickly after years of realiability. Unless, as my co-workers says, those years of tons of innings are now coming crashing down on him.

That's what I don't get. The passes I hold say they are good for entry and then I find out you need ADDITIONAL tix. Fine, so I RSVP. So now they screw that up and I'm being un-invited. I did everything they asked. -

Oh this is the White Sox organization through and through. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Just remember, we have 1 steal in 12 games since the All-Star Break. Carlos Zambrano has more steals and homers than Pods since the ASB. This stat is truly disturbing. And a telling sign of why we're sucking right now. Apparently we're standing around waiting for the big bats to homer us in, instead of being aggressive, disruptive, and generally a pain in the ass. Good luck, 2004 Sox!
-
I doubt he's fired. But I do have to admit a certain disappointment to open the Sun-Times and not see what he would have come up with about this dark, dark month in Soxdom. That white blur whizzing by your head would have been him already throwing in the towel...

I can't tell you how disappointed I am. I was really looking forward to this. I'm shocked that the White Sox could screw up something like this so badly. -
I RSVP'd the last week, well before the deadline, only to find out from my boss that you're supposed to get tix in the mail as well--what they sent you in the mail originally look like the tix you need; they're NOT. So when that didn't happen I called yesterday and left detailed message along with my customer number. No call back. This morning I called again and when I mentioned what I was calling for, the person at the White Sox audibly sighed and passed me on to the sales agents. I said something to the effect of "I guess this is becoming a problem" he grunted "Yeah." Then I get the vox mail for some agent and I leave message, again detailed. He calls while I'm at lunch and says... They have no record of me ever rsvp'ing. Here it comes. You know, I hate when I follow the rules, and I get screwed. Especially by a team that I've poured so much money into over the years. This was supposed to be a "thank you" from them, now it's turning into a "f____ you."
-
I'm still on board, but I disagree with you. I think the Twins are the best team in the majors, hands-down.
-
Well there's been a lot in the press lately about other coaches, whatever, saying you just don't do that in front of the other players, yada, yada and how Garland would be pissed, etc. And that obviously is not the case.
-
Superstitions. Which one will you employ to stop the losing?
LVSoxFan replied to Hangar18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
SPEAKING OF WHICH, has anybody noticed that the Sox have not changed out of their home whites during this whole skid-mark of a home stand? Usually when they lose, they then switch jerseys and keep wearing them as long as they're winning. Yet they have not put the black on once this time around. I've never seen that before. Hmmm... perhaps THIS explains everything. -
Here's my beef, whatever the lineup ends up being. PICK A TEAM, AND STICK WITH IT. Is it just me, or are we being subbed to death this year? I feel like I never see the same team two games in a row. I wonder how the team is going to jell if it's never the same nine guys--er, eight. Know what I mean?
