White Sox vs. Royals......Goin for the Series
iguchi=dank replied to letsgoarow's topic in 2006 Season in Review
I mean, why did ozzie want to try to lose this game. I don't understand, I would find it hard to believe any other manager in the game of baseball, in any country, in any league, would have kept garcia in there, and then bring in cotts. wow -

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) I wish Gload was in there when we had the bases loaded earlier in the game. Most of us who talk about Gload, at least me, want him in LF not in thome's spot. thanks -

Honestly I don't even blame the pitching staff much these last 2 series, I don't think we've faced 1 pitcher with solid solid stuff. Most of the pitchers have been guys who've sucked pretty much their whole career, and our offense can't do anything. -

If our guys tried hitting like G-Load does, we might actually be beating all these pitchers with 5+ era's we've been facing lately. Its just sad and frustrating, but since its been happening so long now I've just lost hope that our approach is going to change. Its amazing the how lucky we are that the twins are in such trouble with injuries. -

Freddy obviously wasn't happy with the hitters not cashing in on the bases loaded so he serves one up. I was wondering why DJ didn't talk about Mr. Baseball more often. I would think he would LOVE that movie. right down his alley -

my god. 4 straight games of pitchers with ABSOLUTELY horrible numbers. And we can't even get like 2 good at bats in a row. simply amazing. (1st 2 innings in first drays game exluded) -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) This is just ranking their batting average. Pods provides no power and DH-like defense. I really only copied and pasted for the names. I understand how atrocious pods is. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) Iguchi is hitting in one of the easiest spots in all of baseball. Not many other guys have the protection he has. Especially since Pods isn't getting on base, he's not having to sacrifice his at-bats a lot. Iguchi's numbers aren't terrible, but he's been very inconsistent. He has a ton of 3 hit games this year, and that's boosted his batting average up to the .280 area all year. Yes you are correct. I'll give you those points. I still think that pods sucking so much this year is still having an adverse effect on gooch because its been much different situations this year than last for him. Plus there's ALOT of pressure when pods continues not to get on first and makes an out. -

iguchi=dank replied to MHizzle85's topic in 2006 Season in Review
iguchi has definetly played, "not quite as well as usual" since the all star break, with the exception of some clutch HR's and base hits. However I have to think hitting behind a hitter as inept as pods has been for most of the year and especially the last 2 months can't be easy. Pods constantly doesn't give iguchi any help as far as giving the pitcher anything to worry about at first or gives the pitcher confidence of an out already. Finally since pods is poop, iguchi might be feeling more pressure than usualy to get on for the big boys. So yes fathom our 1-2 hitters are sucking lately, but remember its mostly pods fault. GLOAD PLEASE or mack, or sweeney, or even ozuna. hell even cintron. -
