Sox vs. Indians...Anthony John Walkoff

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) If you want to blame Ozzie, here's where I'll accept the criticism. This game was lost when with runners on first and second we can't ask AJ to bunt because we know he can't get the runners over. We need to bunt there with the 2 run lead to expand it. We can't bunt because our guys can't bunt. If that is Oz's fault then I can accept that if you blame him for having a team that can't f***ing bunt. But putting in Jenks ... my god. are you serious? really serious? How is it not clear that thorton shouldn't have came on to face sizemore, not saying he gets the job done perfect, but jenks had n.o.t.h.i.n.g out there, and it was pretty obvious. But hey I guess most of us are stupid and your right. I can live with that. -

There is no reason for hermanson to pitch, matt has earned the right to pitch the 9th. Or think about this, chance of a HR off hermanson... or thorton.. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) I would actually be interested in seeing what type of value he might have. I'd be very surprised though if we traded him. We got alot of holes to fill next year, trading guchi while he's reletively somewhat young and not being paid what he's worth, we must just hold on to him and let his contract expire, and take the draft picks unless he stays cheap. -

Ok, if your the opposing manager, would you move the right fielder or 2nd baseman and employ a shift for konerko. I mean I've seen pauly go oppo before, but i don't think ever that he gets it close to the right field line. Way to step up there buddy though -
boston starter was 0-3 with a 6+ ERA. Meanwhile ryan sweeney has half the hits for our team. wow
-
its sept 5. this team is .5 away from the playoffs. They have lolligagged it on offense for 2 months now, and they finally get good pitching performances, finally, and this is the effort they give. I mean you can SEE just by watching them they just don't have the fire. thats it plain and simple. Now can things change, sure. But I think the players are waiting on something, and ozzie might be the only person who can deliver a spark, so he needs to do something other than be boring like he has for a while now. WAKE UP.
-
props to vasquez, he's been really good for a about a month now, and yes i remember he screwed up a 6th inning a few times still, but at that point he usually had only let up like 2 runs, our offense is, really disgusting, disgusting.
-
I'm ok with jenks tonight. he let up a run, 3rd blown save, thats fine. Still looked pretty good and basically was told to walk manny prolly. Our offense has got to score more than 2 runs today, so lets sit back and pray we get lucky.
-
I love AJ not giving the ball to all the fans right next to him, after he looked at them all. nice. at least on bosox feed
-
good job, just can't throw willy strikes, he gets himself out
-
throw balls now he will swing at one.
-
thank god the pitch was in. thank god
-
can't miss that

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) The usual Cy Youngification of the pitcher. Talking about how great he was, what a great approach. It would be fun if they mixed it up a little, and said the pitcher was lucky today or the more reasoned response of "our offense has not been good tonight." You know, think outa the box a little guys.
-
I just got in and have the boston feed. How has hawk and DJ responded to our offense against the great Julian?
-
PLEASE, capatilize for once guys. please
-
Well i started watching and that happens, your all welcome
-
ok. so I just got back from a car dealership and I see that we have 0 runs thru 6 and see julian get the last out in the 6th, so I'm thinkin he just got in the game or something. Now i read he's the starting pitcher?! I'm surprised its only a 19pg thread. wow wow
