  1. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) first off, due to the nature of the rivalry i think it's pretty shallow to just look at who missouri played previously, add that to the result of the illinois game and draw any conclusions about anything. with last year excepted, missouri and illinois generally play each other really, really tough. with all that said, i've seen illinois three times now and am thoroughly unimpressed. this is easily the worst team we've fielded in quite some time. this team is inconsistent, lacks quicks in the backcourt, and has no real leader or go-to person. all that said, they'll come out of the non-con with at least 12 wins, and will probably win at least 10 in the big ten and earn a tournament berth. however, that's more of an indictment of the big ten's weakness this year than any reflection of how good this team is or isn't. yesterday's news, im more inclined to talk about Brian and his chance with townies in Carbondale.
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 10:14 AM) Nobody cares, but I'm extremely jacked to go see SIU play live for the first time since graduation in 2001. Will be odd driving through campus today. Too bad no college girls will be around to goggle at. Will also stop at 710 or the Bookstore to get a hoodie. Go Dawgs! there could be some stragglers????
  3. QUOTE(danman31 @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 03:07 AM) Tech and Kansas State? Are you serious? K State is a different team with Walker, but Tech?! Tech has won at Arkansas and lost at Stanford as well as a couple top 25 road losses. They've proven as much as Mizzou to this point, I doubt they are a better team. I would have agreed with Baylor earlier, but the Bears have struggled so far this year. ISU and OU are horrible. How can you put OU ahead of OSU? It's also a conveniently biased list as you have K State lower than they probably belong as well. KU #1, MU and KSU very low. Good to know you think with a clear head. Geez, Mizzou almost (and should have if they could grab a clutch rebound) beat Illinois and they are getting hated on. I don't mean to claim a moral victory, but Mizzou is probably a bubble team come the end of the year. My order was just off the top of my head. Tech is very tough at home, with their loony tunes fans. KSate with Walker is blah, Coach Thuggins is not long for that job.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) Illinois fans taking out their frustration. you should have killed mizzou, thanks Rock.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) No, it could be easier. They could have played Northern Arizona, Towson, Tenn St, Ball St, Dartmouth, and Toledo. And I'm not buying ISU over Mizzou at all, or Baylor for that matter. People are stuck in the Quin days. KU has an extremely cupcake, its an absolute joke. Baylor is very good, especially at home. Hey Tenn St. just beat Nortwestern, or was that Tenn Tech? yes, both will really struggle to make the tourney....sorry its time to face reality. Enjoy your victory, i still love jamar smith, its a good rivalry, i just found it funny that someone was "shaking" during this game.
  6. I have seen plenty of Mizzou, they really are not good. Arkansas is very subpar as well. OPPONENT TIME/RESULT RECORD TELEVISION 11/10 North Carolina A&T W 101-80 1-0 11/11 Army W 67-58 2-0 11/12 Stetson W 66-45 3-0 11/16 Lipscomb W 89-69 4-0 11/19 Davidson W 81-75 5-0 11/25 Stephen F. Austin W 85-56 6-0 11/27 Coppin State W 98-77 7-0 11/30 Arkansas W 86-64 8-0 12/3 Evansville W 73-54 9-0 12/9 at Purdue L 79-62 9-1 12/19 Illinois L Mizzou is maybe the 8th best team in the big 12. KU, A&M, Texas, Tech, OU, Ok State, Baylor, then ISU and Mizzou This is about as easy as you can get.
  7. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) Hey jimbo, go climb back into your hole until the first weekend of the tourney. you guys are calling Mizzou a good team, that is classic. That was a battle of two subpar programs. Too bad the best player on the floor, Hannah was looked over by High Voice Man.
  8. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) illini squeak this one out. wins against good teams have been scarce this year. Definitely not a pretty game, but I"ll take it. good team????? Mizzou??
  9. Sisco can be nasty, but his control sucks. That is a fireballing bullpen we have.
  10. boy december has been good to the bulls and hawks.
  11. Dunk of the year, that was a basic followup dunk. That is done at least 4x a night.
  12. KU gets a huge get with Cameron Boyd-Anderson a pretty highly recruied RB. Hopefully he can replace Cornish.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Signed him to a 3 year deal, somewhere around 16 million IIRC EDIT-http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2514959 Found the link. 3 years, 18 million. Seemed like alot when it happened, but when he plays, he is worth it and alot more. good the man is magical on the ice.
  14. My guess is they would not even be discussing a deal if Arod were opposed to it.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) Not straight up for Buehrle though. Burls and BA for Pelfrey, milledge??
  16. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Yeah...i'd argue that losing to Oral Roberts and Depaul and beating one good team, albeit very good, isn't grounds for putting you at #12. I don't mean to purposely pick on Kansas, but that's just another example. My guess is they keep the more premiere teams near the top to make their ratings more sexy...KU should be in the low teens, early 20's
  17. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) I'll fill in for him in the meantime... "Weber can't recruit" "I love bill self" "I love russ rob and ju ju" "Julian Wright is the best post passer in the history of the sport" im here, just in no need to defend my up and down rollercoaster ride.
  18. Crede is gone...KW says one things does the other.
