QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:35 AM) Yesterday, Boers and Berstein played a soundbyte from Murphy and Mulligan's crossover where they confronted their supposed squabble, as discussed within Greenstein's article. It was hilarious. Murphy had this subdued tone while confronting Mulligan, which sounded incredibly pathetic. One of numerous awkward moments he asks, sincerely, "Mully, should....should I get a bodyguard?" laugh.gif Also, earlier within the segway, Murph insisted giving the middle finger is "despicable" and he would never do it, yet, swearing insisently over the phone is somehow acceptable. He was intent on finding the indentity of the producer whom discussed this incident with Mulligan. Mully stood his ground. Entertaining afternoon all around. Should be a fine day when he's finally canned. I heard that too, where was Murphy "fake chicago" accent during that crossover.

QUOTE(White Sox Fan For Life @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) In my thesis statment I mentioned the Cubs curse and the Red Sox curse, and how a curse is just another cover up for a team's failure/mistake. I mentioned the Cubs 2003 playoffs against the Marlins when the Cubs had six more outs of going to the World Series. But then the Bartman incident happened, but idiotice CUB FANS forget about the errors that the team made which had to caused them to loose the lead and the game. So than the next day you see the papers of the Sun Times like Curses just because the Marlins won 9-6, which at that time was the amount of time that the Cubs hadn't won a World Series in that long. Here is a some interesting info that may help in your paper. I remember the day of the bartman game, the red sox and yanks played at fenway. During the game, there was a popout by the 1st base dugout, the red sox fans backed away. I remember the announcer praised the red sox fans for getting out of the way. Now, on the topic of game 6. Cubs fans do not realize that their beloved manager screwed them out of a trip to the world series. Lets do the short synopsis, Alou freaks out at Bartman, very mature. DUSTY SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE ENTIRE TEAM TO THE MOUND. But, he sits there playing with timmie the tooth pick, and lets prior s*** the bed, and gonzalez let a ball roll under his legs, among other thinkgs. So, there are no curses, just stupid managers, and bad teams making bad plays.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:07 AM) Anyone who doesn't like Boers and Bernstein must take things too seriously. They're an extremely entertaining duo, and Bernstein is probably the smartest guy on sports radio in Chicago. Bernstein is the best on the radio. He really does his research, and cracks me up.

QUOTE(White Sox Fan For Life @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 09:39 AM) Hello everyone I on Sox Talk! I need some Help! I was wondering if you guys can tell me your opinions on: If you think curses really exist in baseball and why? You see I am doing a thesis statement and like always my research and thesis statements are always about baseball! Now my thesis statement is that I don't think curses exist in baseball! I personally think that it is just another form of a scape goat to be a cover up for a team's mistakes. I am using the Cubs in the 2003 playoffs and 1986 Boston Red Sox! There are no curses in sports, its called buying into media BS.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 08:55 AM) Not too piss off any Illini fans since I think Gordon has a very firm verbal to ILL, but there is talk of KS hiring his Dad, Eric Gordon Sr. at IU. Reason being, IU's top assistant Jeff Meyer coached Gordon Sr. back in the 80's and they are very close friends. I know Meyer already has plans to try and get in on Gordon, so we'll see just how strong of a commitment he has to Illinois. i can see it happening, ks will have no problem outrecruiting bruce almighty.
-
KS may want to take Gordon from Bruce Almighty, Sampson will keep his borders closed.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) Iowa State has joined Iowa and Kansas as schools recruiting Class of 08 PF L.A. Pomlee out of Davenport, IA. #10 PF in that class. Never heard of the guy, 08 is along time away. Is he a hair care product or a basketball player?

QUOTE(brijames @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Besides the fact you haven't a clue or a life you might want to remember this team is about character. They have a lot of it. It's not really surprising they started with a bit of a hangover yet from all the celebrating. They need a little time to close the book on last year. This first week wake up call did just the trick. This Central Division race is gonna be a real dogfight. These White Sox players have a lot of pride. They were kicked in the teeth here this first week of play. They will not roll over. They just need to stay close to the red hot Tribe here early. Don't let them get too far away. Repeating is gonna be harder than hell but if any group can give it a great shot it will be this group of White Sox. anyone who buried the sox is a cubs fan in disguise or a complete moron. I know this, i have a world series championship in my back pocket..

he used his damn big head. -
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:41 AM) I'm pretty sure he can't sign until April 12, when the late signing period starts. He now has listed over 12 schools. he will not be a jayhawk. My guess, Texas if Aldridge goes pro.
-
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) Rush is not a lotto pick right now. The scouts soured on him a bit toward the end of the season when he struggled. It is a weak draft, but he's still well behind guys like Morrison, Roy, Gay, and Carney. He's not going to get a guarantee in the lottery (or at least he shouldn't). That is what all kansas fans think, and most likely he will come back.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) "Coaches know I'm coming in for one year, putting up numbers, then going pro" - Brandon Rush He's gone the moment he's a lotto pick, and due to the lack of ability in this draft, he is one (even though he's not ready for the NBA yet"). Sources have told him he is not a lotto pick, most have him as a possible second rounder at this moment. Charlie Villanueva said the same exact thing. The kid signd with St Johns.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) In a shocker Kansas is recruiting a JUCO wing player due to concerns that Brandon Rush may indeed go pro. Or in other words, Rush is hearing he will be a lotto pick and wants to go pro if he can get a guarantee from an NBA team. http://kansas.scout.com/2/517395.html You have it all wrong. Rush is trying his best to go pro, but everyone is telling him that he sucks, and needs to wait another year.. But, knowing the debauchery that is the Rush family, Self is covering his ass just in case.
