QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 02:22 AM) The Tribe has a bullpen. They just happened to suck tonight (well, Graves does suck). Fernando Cabrera is not that bad but he sure s*** his pants Marte-style tonight. ill see it to believe it, and no way Mota stays healthy all year.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 02:18 AM) BTW, was anyone pissed that there was no radar gun tonight? I told my dad Thornton has a razor arm, no way of knowing i guess.

Good morning just got back from the game.

hey their dumbasses let him go. to the victors go the spoils. -
That was a fun game, tears were in my eyes watching that banner drop in person. 1. Thome is a beast, but more importantly he is a leader. He was embraced while walking off the field after the victory by all the players. 2. BMAC is in the right position, long reliever. I think kW learned alot from the astros last year, and their pen is full of this type. 3. Scott Thornton actually has some good stuff, cuidado senores. 4. the tribe has no bullpen. 5. BA is going to be so much fun to watch grow up.

Wow long game im wet and tired. Anyways, Thome looks like the Clubhouse leader already, he is really blending in well, so it seems.

QUOTE(chaerulez @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) Oh man, when she "interviews" someone I can't stand it. She asks the stupidest, softball questions that go nowhere. her questions are so cheesy..if if were a guest, i would say...man you suck -
QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) We'll see. Out of curiousity, how much have you seen him play? I've seen him play a quite a few times and the only time he's looked for a pass is when he's falling down. I like his ability to get to the hole and score in the lane. His shot's streaky, but he can light it up. He doesn't see the court all that well and knowledge of the game is subpar. Hey, he's a HS kid though. His athletic ability will nullify his weaknesses. However, he's anything but a "quintessential PG." He's going to have to refine his game when he gets to Lawrence. He's super talented though. I have watched him twice on TV, and gone to about 4 of his games. He already was quote as saying his goal is to break Aaron miles freshamn assist record. Most of these top studs care more about their AAU teams, and have fun at the high school level.
-
QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) Since when have "quintessential PG's" been shoot first players? Don't get me wrong, he's super talented. He's also a 5'10 off guard. Sherron Collins is not an off-guard, he has some of the best moves and passing ability that I have seen for a kid his size.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Dana Jacobson? Oh man she is the biggest f***ing b**** ever. She should thank the Lord she has a vagina, or else she wouldn't have a job. I remember her once saying that the guy suing Antonio Davis' wife was a money hungry bastard because he sued for money, and the wife was an innocent victim. What an idiot. She belongs on the f***in travel channel, not interviewing sports personlities. Bobby knight made my year when he walked out on her interview. The guy is a little goober himself. -
i hate this show so much. The woman host drives me nuts.

Marte and Vizcaino pretty much sucked most of the year. If the sox are competitive, trades will be made. I for one am really excited for the progress of Thorton and Boone boy.

From cstv.com: # Class 2006 guards Lawrence Westbrook of Chandler, Ariz/Winchendon Prep School, Mass., a Top 100 prospect; and P'Allen Stinnett of Las Vegas-Palo Verde, Nev., have gained releases from Iowa State following the coaching change. ISU recently added sophomore guard Jeremy Fears of Joliet-Joliet Township, Ill., who is transfering from Ohio. Sophomore guard Tasheed Carr of Philadelphia-University, Pa/Mt. Zion Academy, is transfering from the Cyclones -

I bet he had tears in his eyes putting Duke so low. -
Schools to watch in 2007 For hoops fanatics who like to look ahead, teams that should be special in 2006-07 (subject to change as we wait to find out who leaves for the NBA): 1 North Carolina: Roy Williams was magical this year, my choice for coach of the year. Just watch him next season. 2 Kansas: Mario Chalmers, Brandon Rush and Julian Wright were diaper dandies this year, but they'll be scintillating sophomores next season. 3 Ohio State: Thad Matta's recruiting class of 7-1 Greg Oden and point guard Mike Conley will help make the Buckeyes a title contender. 4 LSU: Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Tyrus Thomas are a special tandem. 5 Florida: Joakim Noah and Taurean Green will keep Billy Donovan smiling. 6 UCLA: Defense and the ultra-talented backcourt of Jordan Farmar and Arron Afflalo enough for me. 7 Memphis: Shawne Williams and Darius Washington get better and better under the motivational skills of John Calipari. 8 Texas: Rick Barnes is on cloud nine with a recruiting class that includes Kevin Durant of Montrose Christian. 9 Connecticut: Jim Calhoun will find a way to keep the Huskies in the hunt. 10 Duke: Josh McRoberts and Greg Paulus got a wealth of experience and will get help from a recruiting class that includes Gerald Henderson and Jon Scheyer.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) Makes sense. Turgeon did a great job this year, recruits Texas VERY well as it is even at Wichita State, and Wichita is just a few hours up the interstate from Norman. Look for Scott Sutton, may make an interesting scenario. he is the coach at oral roberts right now.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 07:53 AM) These are Illinois kids, so I have actually seen them both play several times in person and a few more on tv. I agree with everything you said on Collins, but you seem to have a bit of a Scheyer homer complex. Even in HIGH SCHOOL, all he was was a catch and shoot player (but a damn good one of course, I'll give you that, a lot of points and used his 6'5 frame well). He is going to have to work his ass off if he plans on making any impact at a school with that much talent. Pocious will play in front of him next year. THe kid has a wonderful stroke, and only 4 fingers on his shooting hand. I can see dukie V now, oh edward scissorshands oh oh oh oh oh.

I will be there and have not been this excited since I was in Houston for game 4. Let's win this game, win another big one and take this city for the sox.

Could Cook throw up any more crappy shots in this game..calm down there buddy. Also, how annoying was Jay "Crash" Williams. This Duke this Duke that made me Cintron tonight :puke

QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) An all-star game is a bad example, but he reminds me a lot of Marbury the other times I've seen him. Let's see how he does in a real system with players on the court who are about the same/as good as him. That dunk at the end was sick. I see many alleys to JuJu and Rush next year.
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 01:32 AM) Honestly, how many times have you ever seen him play? He's every bit as good as the hype. He'll prove his doubters wrong during his time at Duke. Also, Collins played well by his standards, but I'm not sure if he is a true PG. He was sloppy, and always will be. He is incredibly strong with his dribble and quick down the court, but I was disappointed with his decision making (even if it's an all-star game). Basically, I think Collins is talented and will put up great numbers at Kansas, but the question is whether or not he will help his team win as a PG or as a scorer. He reminds me a lot of Marbury. Every point guard was throwing up alley oops and running out of control. Collins set Scheyer up for 2 of the 3 three pointers. He is the quintessential PG.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) lol, Collins didn't outplay Lawson. Lawson had 4 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and a steal. Collins had 11 points and 3 assists. Lawson didn't look for his own shot, Collins did, as usual. Both are going to be special guards. This class is ridiculously loaded, atleast up top. Dammit, Bill has hair plugs not a toupee. If Self does not get past the first round, a little man named Mark Turgeron may get a call soon. Collins is really the type of player we need, a guard who can penetrate and find the big man. Chalmers and him are going to work so well off each other. Arthur would just be icing on the cake, but well see.

collins outplayed Lawson, way to go little guy. That little guy can sure dunk, dammmmmmmmmmmmmm
