Rush returning to Kansas for Soph Year

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) And yet he's able to get into Kansas with little problem. What a shocker. Oh stop with that. I know he was held back, because they could not find any records of the school that disappeared off the map. Also I think the future of Slim Shady Darrel Arthur has to do with Rush. If rush leaves, Slim comes. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Rush attended quite a few high schools, and there was some concern he wouldn't even graduate. There were a lot of rumors about him attending the IMG Academy, etc. One of the schools he went to early on in his high school career no longer exists. for what its worth The future is what Kansas has to look forward to now. Following the game, freshman guard Brandon Rush said he was going to return for his sophomore season. Self said he would not comment on that until he spoke with Rush about the situation. “I was still undecided before the game, but after the game I am for sure coming back,” Rush said. “I figured it is best for the whole team to come back and be strong.” Kansas, barring any transfers or players leaving for the NBA, will return all five starters and its top seven scorers. -
They were too good at home, they could never beat each other on the road.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Another thing you have to consider, for whatever reasons, is that Tyler Hansbrough is already 20 years old, and Rush is about 6 months older than Tyler. That, combined with Rush's two brothers relative failure at the next level have to be tempering some scouts/teams enthusiasm about both of them. I fully expect both of them to be back, they both have dominant teams coming back next year to try again. Didn't rush do prep school, i think Tyler just failed out of school. They will both be lottery picks next year. -

QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) This sort of reminds me of Vince Young, who said constantly that he was going to be coming back to Texas for his senior year. When it was all over however, he ended up declaring for the draft. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, Rush isn't in to be a top 5 pick, so he won't have nearly as much pressure to enter the draft as Young had, but he should still have a fair amount. Rush has a ton of pressure on him from his mom and brother to stay in school. Jaron left too early and is now playing god knows where. Kareem stayed for a few and is doing well. His brother supports his mom, so he knows he can stay and learn to use his left hand and be a lotter next year. That is the gist of the media coverage in lawrence. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) Good move by Rush. He could clearly use some more college seasoning. Kansas has a chance to be VERY good next year. Rush forgot how to dribble in the last 10 games, i dont know what the hell happened. He is going to stay, i dont think the scouts were too impressed. -

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) In the case of Illinois, it seems like it's simply a case of not attacking the basket enough. They're generally a perimeter oriented team that takes a lot of jumpers, making it hard to draw a lot of fouls. When they do go inside, it's typically an open shot or a quick shot by Augustine, making it harder to draw contact. This has happened to them on a lot of occasions this year, although it wasn't as bad a descrepancy. Washington on the other hand was constantly attacking the basket. Pretty much all of the fouls on the Illini occurred in the paint in the second half. I'll admit there were numerous BS calls on the perimeter in the first half, but I didn't really see that in the second. As for the other games, I generally agree that Gonzaga and Duke get a lot of favorable calls, but at least in this game Mallon was a big factor inside. It's also hard to argue for Indiana when they jacked up 36 3's, which was over half their shots. Illinois got jabbed, Indiana threw up 3's and missed and fouled. The Washington/Illinois game looked like a 4th quareter nba game. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) If you look at the Big 12 they're regarded as the best backcourt in the conference for some reason. I don't know about that, but a lot of people love the duo. Ill take Chalmers/Robinson and Gibson/Paulino -

QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) I remember Hogan cuz I played against him in high school. Such a waste of talent. I don't think he got hurt until he went to Kentucky than ended up transfering to Iowa. But could be wrong. Hogan was at high school the same time as me at Deerfield. The kid had all the talent in the world, went to Kentucky, got caught doing bad things and transferred. my point is hogan reminds me of scheyer and this means a subpar career at duke. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) Scheyer impressed me at times tonight, but he still takes really stupid shots at the most inoppurtune times. Three pointers with hands in his face down by one tonight not once, but three times? He's lucky he converted the one or Warren would have won. I suppose it doesn't matter too much now, but am I the only one who thinks hes going to be only an average to above average player at Duke? anyone else remember Ryan hogan from deerfield? -
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 10:34 AM) As of now that makes three of us. I'm teetering back and forth with Ohio State though. boston college, LSU, Uconn, KU

These dumb cub fans will have no clue these two pitchers are out. you will see a group of dopes painting "we got wood" across their chests at the home opener.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 08:50 AM) I believe he did die. It was definately slow, but the last five minutes were intense. Who else thought that Lynn and the guard was going to live after the guard said, "I'm OK." I thought that was cruel. 2 things about Tony, was she shot with the same things they were giving Robocop. If so, doesnt that stuff not kill you. Did Tony not get a silent count???

Wow what a show tonight.... SPOILER alert if you did not see the latest one. IS Tony dead?

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) This makes sense, fair enough. I don't treat them like a Final Four threat, but in all honesty though, if Gonzaga was a #2 in any region, would anyone even blink twice?? They certainly deserve a #2 over Tennessee no?? I think Kansas can come out of this region, but I wouldn't consider it a lucky draw for them. They are playing some of the toughest D in the country, and they may have a decent matchup with some of these teams, but I also see a full region of teams that are peaking at the right time. KU has the nation's best defense..period -

dont worry watchtower, people in this area just dont like Kansas...Have no fear we are the nation's hottest team and have the best young talent. The question is how can they play in the tourney situation....if the Big 12 tourney is any indication, me likey mucho. KU has 4 big men in their rotation, and has an awesome 4 man small rotation. They can run with anyone and can control taller, more physical teams. Hopefull i dont insert foot in mouth.
