QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) The one worry I have with Jenks is his elbow. Every once in a while, someone will run into a heater of his, and hit a long, long homer. At least he'll have a competent centerfielder when he's pitching this season. Rowand was solid on defense last year, but he absolutely sucked when Jenks was on the mound. I agree it seemed that everytime jenks was on the mound, Rowand would take a step back and the ball would fall in front of him.

Well we shall see I guess, I love the trio and can't wait for Sherron to join in. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) Julian could very well be a missing link for the Illini this year. They could really use a high energy creator. Rather, they just have Dee floating on the outside with his poor point guard skills. As a matter of fact, Kansas fans better hope Julian cools down a little. If he keeps up this level of play, some team might promise him a lottery selection this year. I would not count on that...i know his family well, his mom said her boy is getting a degree. -

My Webpage Julian Wright is so damn good. I could never imagine the Jayhawks could be ranked higher than Illini going into the tourney, barring an impossible victory in Austin. -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) What a brutal season for Louisville. He is really injury prone, im glad he's gone in that sense. He has a ton of talent, but plays like a little girl at times. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 11:37 AM) He normally keeps any bias aside, and is very knowledgable about the game. I have a feeling they brought him in to counteract the outcry over Bilas/Vitale with Duke etc though. My favorite is still Fran Frischilla, he really goes into learning the various teams and watching the practices. His partner larry conley, i call don hollywood.. why, because if he cant get the player's names right, why get his name right. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) Yeah I totally agree, he doesn't have any retarded catch phrases, and actually analyzes the basketball, it's pretty damn annoying. haha, of course you would love him he talks about UNC all game.. -
I am worried that Crede will have a career year and Boras will have him sign a gigantic deal elsewhere.

Hubert Davis wants me want to take my head and stick it in a lawn mower. Wow he sucks. -
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 08:19 AM) Sorry, JD, but according to the PhogBlog, Darrell Arthur has reopened his recruitment. He never picked a school, just named KU the leader. This could will either sign with us, or try to "Carmelo" a piss poor team like Malik Hairston tried.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 02:17 AM) I can agree with that. Jimbo said Wright was the best he's ever seen. That's a pretty bold statement. I would have to assume he's either just biased "big surprise there" or he just hasn't watched much college bball outside of Kansas. I watch almost every game, with every team. Do you watch Wright?? I am amazed at his moves. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) It's ok, after reading an illiniboard post today that said Eric Gordon and Derrick Rose would be the greatest college backcourt ever, I don't think any hyperbole would shock me . Bias fans are what makes the world go around...or some bs like that. -
The song is called He's a pirate. Its by Hanz someting or other..just google the soundtrak to Pirates of the Caribbean.

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 01:35 AM) As someone that's not an Illini or Kansas fan, I'll say that while there have been plenty of other better passing big men to play basketball (A. Sabonis is a prime example), Julian Wright is one of the most dynamic post passers in the past decade in college basketball. Hey I am not going as far as most KU fans who are calling JUJU the next Magic Johnson haha. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) The sad thing with Jimbo is he's a very smart fan outside of his unprecedented Kansas homerism. We should just ban him from talking about KU, and he'd be a very solid contributor. Well how about that for a bet. KU loses to Texas, i will not speak a word of Kansas for a week. KU wins, heads will not discuss ISU for a week. Thanks for the compliment though. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) Let me guess, you also agree with the people at PhogBlog (who I like and work with) that Julian Wright has an edge over Lamarcus Aldridge? Absolutely not, Aldridge will own the inside. Aldride has to also guard the best post passer I ahve ever seen. -

IU will NOT get in the tourney, unless they reach the semis of the Big 10 tourney. MY Jayhawks are in 1st place and fighting for the Big 12 at Texas on prime time saturday night. I never ever expected that. Julian Wright is god. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) I'll agree with Jimbo that this is make or break but only in the sense of how they play, not whether they win. If they come out, play reasonably well, put forth a good effort and are competitive, there will be hope for the remaining games. If they come out and lay an egg and lose by 37 points, then there is no hope. So I don't believe it is a must win game, but I do think how they react and play on the court is very important if there is any hope of finding a way into the NCAA Tournament. Was it Seth Davis who said IU is a nogo for the tourney. What does he know anyway??
