QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) You can level WoW solo pretty easily, but yeah the endgame stuff you need guilds or at least a big raid of people to do stuff.... I can't say for sure but I'd be guessing Starwars would be similar that once you get endgame most of the content would be at very least groups. Also just like WoW there are quests on the way you cant do alone but mostly can pickup random groups to complete it which I'd imagine is same in Starwars. In WoW at least though all the stuff leveling wise that required groups was optional, it was fun but very easy to do majority of quests solo and might take a little more time could easily level all the way solo. That's another difference from what I can tell. SWTOR doesn't really have big raids. The max group size is four, unless you're doing a PvP Warzone which is a completely different, unique instance. I imagine it's easier to find three random people than finding 20+ pubbies in WoW, but maybe not. Basically, SWTOR seems much less guild based, which I really like thus far.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) If it motivates one of the best players on the planet to go to another level? The Pacers. I'm assuming that the only reason this "matters" at all is a potential meetup in the playoffs, and frankly, if you aren't going to be motivated to play at your best level in the playoffs regardless of your opponent, then you shouldn't be in professional sports. This entire thing is overwhelmingly stupid. edit: Am I missing the part where the Pacers did anything to show up the Bulls? From my understanding, they didn't teabag the Bull that's painted at halfcourt. Rose is pissed because he could hear them in their lockerroom celebrating the win. I mean, if he wants to get pissed over that, he's more than welcome to, but you shouldn't need that type of motivation to play hard against an opponent you already don't like and have history against. So why does ANYONE care?

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) ESPN has made Rose's comment such a big deal that it has been the headline of its NBA section for the entire day. The article already has 5000+ comments already. And most of the posters are anti Rose or anti Bulls, calling Rose a cry baby for losing or whatever. To me, this is not even close to Bosh crying literally last year after losing to the Bulls. It seems now the Bulls, not the Heat are the cry babies of the nation. The whole thing is stupid and overblown. Players shouldn't be happy when they lose, especially at home. Players should be happy when they win, especially on the road. Who gives a s*** which players think what after the loss?

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 03:06 AM) Nah its exactly like WoW, EQ is the one where you got all your experience from grinding. But if you have played EQ before Badger it plays very similar except that you get simple quests like kill 10 soldiers or some crap like that which makes leveling a lot faster. It has tradeskills etc. like EQ but in it you can actually send workers to go grab you materials etc. and the PVP is way more advanced than EQ. From what I understand, if you want to play WoW alone, you'd get s*** on pretty quickly (at least, according to a few friends of mine that play(ed) WoW religiously). From my experience with SWTOR, that's far from the case. I'm not in a guild and have no intention of joining a guild, and haven't had any issues whatsoever. That being said, I haven't gotten to the endgame yet, so maybe that changes.

The Wolves had one healthy point guard tonight and two healthy guards (unless you count Wes Johnson as a guard, which is hilarious), yet walked into Dallas and beat them by 15. Rubio played 46 minutes (17 pts, 12 ast, 7 reb, 4 stl, 7 to), Love put up 31 on 16 shots, etc.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) The one thing strenght of schedule isn't counting though is the insanely high number of games they've arleady had. True, but I'd rather play 19 games against really easy teams than 16 games against a lot better teams.
-
QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 08:25 PM) Considering they're 16-3 unhealthy. Think about that. SIXTEEN AND THREE Not to burst any bubbles (because the Bulls have certainly played VERY well this season), but they're 27th in the NBA in strength of schedule and their last 10 games have been (by far) the easiest in the NBA. They've picked a good part of their schedule to be without some of their players, considering the level of competition they've faced recently.

@JerryZgoda All 3 Kardashian sisters supposed to be in the house tonite. "Oh, is that right?" Adelman said. "Oh, good. I'm really excited about that."

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) And thanks Felix, thats what Im trying to find out. Back in the day of Everquest I spent some time in the MMORPG world and was just trying to see how grouping, etc would work. Im not sure if it has instances like Guild Wars or is more like EQ where its just large areas and random things. From what I read it seems questing is how you get experience. I also assume that they have some sort of "trade" system where you can craft items for sale? Basically, you gain most of your experience from questing and less from actual grinding (which, as far as I understand, is different than WOW). There are heroic quests that you generally need a group to complete, so if you're playing alone you generally won't be able to complete those. However, I haven't had much issue finding random groups of people to complete them, so that's always an issue if it interests you. You generally get better items/experience from the heroic quests, but with bigger groups the loot gets split up. There is indeed a trade system where you can trade unnecessary items or crafted items for cash. Each faction (imperial/republic) can trade amongst themselves, or, if you're on a neutral planet, there's a trade system where you can trade with anyone (regardless of faction).

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) So part of me is wants to get Knights of the Old Republic. I hate the thought of having to put time into a MMORPG but at the same time Ive always wanted to be a jedi. Anyone try it? Knights of the Old Republic is different that Star Wars: The Old Republic. KotOR is/was/will always be an amazing RPG made by Bioware back in 2003. I strongly recommend playing both KotOR and KotOR2, as they are both superb games, but they aren't the game that was just released SWTOR is the MMO that was just released and it's pretty fun. You can play it as a conventional RPG (which I've been doing for the most part) and it's still a lot of fun. I've really liked the RPG elements of it, and I've never played an MMO before this one. The fact that you're playing online with other people hasn't been relevant to me unless I specifically want it to be relevant, which is nice.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) Maybe it's not officially true yet: @JerryZgoda I've done some checking w/ people I trust on report that Love has agreed to 4-yr, $62M and I have no indication right now that it's true... I'd be pretty shocked if it didn't become true within the next 12 hours, though. Deal is done. 4 years, but Love can opt out after 3. Seems fair enough. Now we better use these next three years putting together a playoff contender around Love and Rubio.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) How the f*** did Carmelo score 1 point in 30 minutes against the Bobcats? You answered your own question.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) Ricky Rubio's shooting is starting to resemble what many predicted... erratic. But man, does that dude have vision. He's definitely not a dead eye shooter. The nice thing, however, is that even when his shot isn't dropping, he still has the confidence to take the ball to the rim. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) He should take a page out of the early in his career Jason Kidd and not shoot...I have no doubt he'll improve but Steve Nash he's not nor ever be. He's shooting less than Kidd ever did for the vast majority of his career (save the last four seasons). I still think the Kidd comparison is a much, much, much, much better comparison for Rubio's actual performance than Nash.

Kevin Love put up 39 and 12 on just 19 shots and the Wolves collapsed in the fourth quarter to get blown out. f*** that felt like last year.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) Timberwolves are 7-8 and in last place. Why does this board act like they are the 83 celtics? This board makes them sound like they're the 83 Celtics? Are you sure you've been reading the same threads I have? If anything, I'm the only one that will talk them up in here, and that's simply because I'm a Timberwolves fan and I've watched a lot of really, unbearably bad basketball over the last few years. If I've ever slightly exaggerated their quality, I strongly apologize for misleading you. But the fact of the matter is they have the 7th best point differential in the WC, have two incredibly fun to watch young players and have improved their defense by LITERALLY 15 points over last year.

Everyone knew Adelman was a terrific hire. He's one of the better coaches in the league.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 12:30 AM) It was a joke, Hubie Brown (I think that is who was announcing) said that Del Negro called a good time out. I was joking about how his team is always falling apart. Hubie Brown is an absolutely horrid announcer. He made a number of moronic comments throughout the night.
