  1. It will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever happen.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) Is Pekovic capable of keeping, up this recent torrid pace? By this do you mean is he a 20/10 player? No. However, there's something to be said for his offensive efficiency around the rim, and as long as Rubio continues to give him the ball in the right spot, he'll continue to be a solid option at the five. He does a great job using his size to get great offensive position and has made a huge stride in using his size on the defensive end, which is cutting down on his biggest problem from a season ago (foul trouble).
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 06:44 PM) Well, maybe since the Lakers had Gasol given to them for nothing, they're required to give him away 5 years later. I wouldn't say Marc Gasol is "nothing," but I appreciate what you were going for.
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 06:38 PM) http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2012/02/19/so...with-pau-gasol/ That reads like something out of the Onion. That's a horribly awful deal for the Lakers.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 06:30 AM) LOL, its funny how you posted that without reading the previous conversation. It does make a lot more sense for everyone involved (and as a fan of Kevin Martin and a hater of the ridiculously bad offense the Wolves have had out of their wings, I'd love it)
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) I wouldn't have expected to read those posts and find the Bulls up by 3. It's funny to read those posts and then look at the free throw and fouls differential.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. I thought Community was cancelled though? Being on hiatus != cancelled
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 16, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) Hey Felix, are you hearing these Derrick Williams + picks + salary rumors for Pau Gasol? I'd be pretty surprised if this were to happen. Kahn hasn't been a big trade type of GM and has already said we're basically sticking with minor moves unless someone blows him away. Plus, the need for a Gasol-type player has been minimized as of late by Nikola Pekovic tearing s*** up. We've got a much bigger need at the 2/3, so I wouldn't see us blowing our assets on a big when it's not the most glaring problem facing our team. Something I think is more likely would be a Pau Gasol to HOU, Kevin Martin to MIN, Derrick Williams to LA type deal. That makes sense for all the teams involved, I think, but probably has too many hurdles to get through to actually be done.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) I'm just saying that maybe Leggler didn't watch the last 2-3 minutes of his play or didn't see his end-of-game stat line. Then that's s***ty reporting, which is kind of what Steve was initially getting at.
  10. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) Only 10 points and 13 assists?! Other players played better than that today! Lin must be really bad. Whoa whoa whoa.. where did you get that f**gy info from? If you want to play numbers, get a blackboard.
  11. This is awesome. It *does* require you to actually use your brain, though, so be warned.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 11:29 PM) I tried to get into the Melvins once, and couldn't do. They're the kind of band I'd be willing to give a second try to, though. I'd check out "Houdini" if you're looking to give them a second shot. The first five or six tracks are pretty great, with Lizzy, Honey Bucket, Goin' Blind and Night Goat. They sound as if they're running through some heavy mud half the time, but I'm a fan. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 11:29 PM) And as for Wasting Light, I think White Limo is far away the most QotSA-like track. You might like "I Should Have Known" if only because it's about Cobain; I'm also a fan of "Dear Rosemary" because Bob Mould plays guitar and sings backing vocals on it. I'll check out "I Should Have Known." The last Cobain song of theirs that I actively heard was "Let it Die," which I really disliked. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 11:29 PM) On a different note, have you heard any Howler? Local Minneapolis band I've grown fond of. Sort of like a garage surf rock. Pretty young too, I think the singer/guitarist/songwriter is only 19. Never heard of Howler, just YouTube'd a song of theirs though and it was solid. I'll have to give the album a listen. I really ought to be more in touch with the local Minneapolis music scene, but I'm much too lazy to weed through all the crap to find the stuff that I actually like, especially since I tend to have very specific tastes

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) As a fellow reader of the comic book, I think we need to just forget about the comic book and expect something totally different out of the show. Yeah, I know It's mostly just frustrating, but I knew it was going to happen from the start, so I guess I can't complain too much. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) But still, this farm situation has been ridiculously long and the character development has been s***ty. They need to do something quick to save the show, even though there are plenty of viewers who will keep watching (me included, just because the premise of the show is still amazing). I'd include myself in that group, but even my dedication is wavering the more and more it drags on. I don't want it to be ridiculously fast paced every episode, but if they're going to go with the slow character development episodes, would it kill them to at least make it interesting? Ugh.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 13, 2012 -> 10:17 AM) This show is not going to be Left 4 Dead(that would be an awesome show though). I think the first few episodes of the show may have tricked people into thinking it was going to be like that all the time. Like the comic, the characters don't go very far. It's seems like people want to see them in a new location every episode. It's not going to happen. They stay at the farm and if they follow the comic, they will go to a prison and stay there for a long time. There are a bunch of characters that they haven't introduced yet. I do hope they do that soon, because some of them are really cool. It's already abundantly clear that they don't want to follow the comic. They've butchered some of the main characters already. That being said, they seriously need to get the f*** to the prison already and introduce Michonne and Tyreese already.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) In Utero is indeed a much better album in terms of quality (I find this odd, I never agree with you on music!), but when taking importance into account, Nevermind just blows passed it. Nevermind was still an awesome album, but even Cobain said he hated how polished it sounded. That's why I like In Utero -- takes a lot of the raw energy from Bleach, yet still somehow refines it and adds the band's pop sensibilities. Oh, undoubtedly. Nevermind was a monumental album when it comes to importance. It really helped open the door for a lot of the alt rock bands that became popular afterward. I tend to believe that In Utero is the sound that they wanted Nevermind to have (which you alluded to), which is yet another reason why I love In Utero so much. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) I'm surprised more people don't love Nirvana's Unplugged album. Probably my favorite acoustic album of any artist, it's phenomenal. Nothing can give me chills like Cobain yelling/howling/rasping "shiver the whole night through" on the last refrain of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night." I seriously LOVE that Unplugged album, especially the covers that they perform. The trio of Meat Puppets songs they play (Plateau, Oh Me, Lake of Fire) blew my mind in high school and continues to do the same whenever I listen to it these days. Plus "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" and "The Man Who Sold the World"... all seriously fantastic stuff. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) I really love the Foo Fighters (and really really REALLY love Grohl). Even what you're probably referring to as their sucky stuff I probably like, but not as much as The Colour and the Shape (and to a just slightly lesser extent) There Is Nothing Left to Lose. Both are f***ing fantastic albums. However, I did think Wasting Light (their most recent album, came out in April 2011) was their best since There Is Nothing Left to Lose. Still not close to their first two albums, but I thought it was pretty good. I'm sure I've said this before, but my main gripe with Foo Fighters is that they sound exactly like I would expect a rock band to sound like. I love me some Dave Grohl, but I tend to like music that makes me more of an active listener, which isn't something that ever happens during 95% of Foo Fighters songs. I still respect the s*** out of Grohl, and Foo Fighters are better than almost anything that's on the radio these days, but I'm just not going to go out of my way to listen them. That being said, someone linked me to the other day and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has more of a Songs for the Deaf era QotSA sound to it, which owns. I don't really like a lot of the stuff I've heard from that album on the radio, but that's pretty standard for most bands. Maybe I'll have to check it out, but I have a sneaking suspicion that nothing else on that album has a similar sound. On an unrelated note, since we've successfully threadjacked this from talking about just Pearl Jam to now talking about alt rock in general, anyone fans of the Melvins? Houdini is a fantastic album.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 12, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Watson with back to back bad offensive possessions I find it hard to believe that he's the best offensive option down the stretch when you need a bucket. I know Rose is out, but is he seriously the best choice to take the teams last three or four FGA of the game?
  17. Boozer misses the WIDE open Watson and instead calls a time out. Good awareness about calling the timeout quickly, but goddamn you'd think he'd have looked at Watson being all alone for an easy layup on the other side of the floor.
  18. That was a funny attempt at a fast break by Noah. edit: Jesus, the Celtics really don't want to win this.
  19. That was an inexcusable loss. Terrible, terrible execution down the stretch.
  20. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 08:51 PM) FREE DARKO No.
  21. Ricky Rubio literally just got T'd up for running into a screen. You can't make this up. edit: hahaha and the Knicks didn't even get the ball back after the technical free throw. What the f***? edit2: The ref apparently admitted after the fact that he got confused who should get the ball after the free throw. Seriously, you can't make this up.
  22. There has been a lot of truly terrible defense from both teams in this Wolves/Knicks game.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) He didn't shoot too well in that game though. Nope 12 offensive rebounds though (admittedly on a lot of his own misses)
  24. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 07:40 PM) Kevin Love with more rebounds than the Knicks that quarter. The last time the Knicks were at Target Center
