Ricky Rubio is just dirty. He just faked a pass to Randolph, looked off the defender, then actually passed it to him. Ridiculous.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) Oh throw a fit. I didn't call you stupid. Get over it. Ignorant: Lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) I dont mind laugh tracks and I like The Big Bang Theory. I dont get why people argue so much over taste so much, some people like bad things, we just move on. I'm mostly arguing over the fact that people who don't like the show are instantly ignorant. That's just stupid.

I was underwhelmed by Bridesmades. Went in really wanting to love it but came away lukewarm. I'm not the biggest Kristen Wiig fan in the world, though.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) Not really. You don't know what you're missing. That's ignorant. Ignorant isn't really an insult. I know exactly what I'm missing. I've watched the majority of the first season as I had roommates in college that absolutely loved it. I think it's complete trash that relies on the same overused schtick of nerds being nerdy. It's relies too heavily on a laugh track and has very little comedic value. My statement about prefering to watch Human Centipede might have sounded like a hyperbole, but it honestly wasn't. I would seriously start laughing mid-way through the first viewing, which is more than Big Bang Theory could do for me. EDIT: To be perfectly honest, I find it hard to enjoy any show with a laugh track these days. If a comedy feels the need to tell you when you should be laughing, then it's probably not doing it's job particularly well. It's another reason why I have immense respect for Sports Night, which didn't want a laugh track but was refuted by the network. As the series progressed, the laugh track became rarer and quieter, before finally disappearing completely in season two.

You guys must not be watching anymore, otherwise there would be about 20 posts about Scalabrine being in.

lol, Memphis is actually trying to lose this one.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 12:53 PM) Is their a worse starting C in basketball right now than Noah? His game is insulting. Darko. Milicic.

Speights just made Noah look baaaad

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) Just continue watching the WNBA to fulfill your comedic needs All you need now is a laugh track in the background and you'll be as funny as Big Bang Theory.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) I am an idiot. Happens when your running on 2 hours of sleep. Carry on. The weird thing is if I tell it to include playoff games, his 63-point game isn't there. Oddly enough, it looks like that game isn't even in their game log database. That's VERY weird. (unless I'm having a massive brain fart as well, which I wouldn't completely rule out)

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 10:21 AM) Are those Jordan's regular season numbers? I couldn't find his NBA record 63 point night in 85'-86' playoffs against Boston. (which was a loss BTW ) "In a single game, from 1946-47 to 2011-12, in the regular season, requiring Points >= 40, sorted by descending Points."

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 10:04 AM) It could take some time but you could probably do it just with the Basketball-reference.com game logs for both. If you're going to spend 20 minutes searching, you'll save time if you give up and do it yourself. You could export each season into Excel, sort by "Points", and then compile W's and L's for every game where ach is above 40. It's not even that hard. Basketball-Reference has the free Play Index, which makes any sort of research like that incredibly easy. Kobe 40-point games: http://bkref.com/tiny/7Iubi Jordan 40-point games: http://bkref.com/tiny/Ibvtr Go nuts

The Big Bang Theory is atrocious. I would rather watch Human Centipede on repeat. At least that might make me laugh after awhile.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) So Felix... Will I regret dropping Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley from my fantasy team? Adelman doesn't seem to like Williams very much this year. Beasley's numbers won't stay this bad all year, but if your league places any emphasis on efficiency, I doubt you'll feel too bad dropping him. Williams is a different question, but his minutes probably aren't going to make a jump anytime soon. If he's playing less than 20 minutes a game now, while Beasley/Webster are out, it's probably not a good sign for when they both get back. Who knows, maybe he'll start to eat into Tolliver's playing time instead, since Tolliver has been pretty bad so far this year. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) Perhaps, especially for the long haul, but if you have been awful for a while, Collins' brain is one you may want to pick. He has a knack of making historically terrible teams at least playoff teams. His act may or may not get old quickly, but if I'm running the Bucks or the T Wolves, I'd hire him in a heartbeat to coach and if he doesn't want to do that anymore or gets sick of it, make him the GM, and/or team President. I always loved when he was coaching the Bulls that when the game was over, he looked like he just played 48 minutes. He would be soaked in sweat. He teaches guys how to win. I'll take Rick Adelman thank you very much

The Timberwolves are giving up 14 less points per game than they did last year. Have I mentioned how much I love not having Kurt Rambis as a coach?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) I just do not think nba officiating has any actual guidelines or rules. Just by your whim I heard Rose ran into Noah and they called a foul on Rondo. That sounds hilarious to me.

The Wizards are surprisingly not good at basketball. Who'da thunk it?
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) Williams should be starting. Love could play the 5. Probably. The second unit wouldn't have much offensive firepower (or at least, willing hands to take shots) if that happened, unless Beasley got bumped back to a 6th man role.

Rubio started tonight! Now we just need to get Darko and Wes Johnson out of there and we'll be cooking with gas.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) He was talking about Carmelo Anthony. It was pretty obvious. Yep, just realized that. I'm an idiot. Ignore me.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) I really dont know when that happened, since I can remember him at Syracuse hes been considered an elite talent and outside of this thread I think most consider him a top 3 SF, and thats just because the other 2 are Durant and Lebron. Im pretty sure most would take Melo over any SF that isnt Lebron or Durant(unless your concerned about Melo's mentality.) Luol Deng went to Duke, not Syracuse. Unless this conversation has suddenly started to mention Wes Johnson, in which case you all have lost your minds. Carry on. Edit: Oh wait, I'm a moron. You're talking about Carmelo. Ignore me!

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) Ooof. I'd personally say Gerald Wallace and Rudy Gay should be rated well above Deng. Caron Butler is having a nice start to the season, but I'm not willing to forgive the past few years based on a couple 20 point outbursts. He's below Deng. You also forgot Carmelo Anthony in the "clearly better" category. Gerald Wallace and Carmelo, without a doubt. I think Gay is much less of a clear cut yes, though. Offensively Gay is much more capable of creating his own shot, but their efficiency and shooting are actually fairly similar. Defensively Deng has the edge, but Gay isn't a pushover on defense either. Put him in Thib's system and he might be just as effective as Deng is. For what it's worth, I think I'd probably rank Deng in the 6-9 range for SF behind Lebron, Durant, Carmelo, Granger and Wallace for certain.
