Even though we'll inevitably lose this game, it has been a s***load of fun. Between Rubio getting everyone involved, Kevin Love being Kevin Love and LeBron's fast breaks, this has been a great game.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Colder than Dirk Nowitzki or Steve Nash? Steve Nash and Dirk aren't white. Nash is Canadian, while Dirk is German.

I have no idea if Ricky Rubio is going to end up being a great player or not, but there's something to be said for the type of excitement he brings to a team (especially a team as bad as the Wolves lately). He gets EVERYONE on the court involved offensively, and if he can hit the mid-range jumper like he has already in his career, he's going to be a pretty dangerous point guard. Certainly not of the Derrick Rose/Russell Westbrook/John Wall mold, but he'll be pretty damn good. Maybe it's the fact that I had to watch Jonny Flynn/Sebastian Telfair/Bobby Brown/Kevin Ollie over the last 3 years, but he's had a pretty good start to his young NBA career.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) I honestly only know 1 person who didn't agree. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/grown_ups/

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 29, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) Rose is Angry Derrick and is thus attacking and not shooting 8 3s. I like. Seriously, screw efficiency if inefficient Derrick is better. Being good and being efficient are not mutually exclusive. Saying you prefer a player to be inefficient rather than efficient is just silly.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Ardbeg That's easily one of my favorite single malts. Delicious stuff.

Adventures of Tintin was a great adaptation of the book, very enjoyable. Definitely recommend seeing it if you've read the books.

Happy birthday to easily the most overrated poster on the forums

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) I hate Kwame Brown. Also, he looks like a chicken. He played pretty well last night off the bench. I only watched the first half, but he had some quality minutes for the Warriors.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 26, 2011 -> 10:50 AM) How's that for you efficieny lovers 4/17, 1/8 from 3. etc. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 02:08 AM) His stat line was ridiculous tonight. Although I will admit I've always had a man crush on him and his potential. Brought him up several times last year. (Ellis is/was holding him back on touches, or controlling the point last season, looks much better under Jackson in letting Curry go in the half court while still getting his) 21 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds, 6 steals on 7 of 12 shooting. That's just absurd. It still boggles my mind how ANYONE could have looked at Jonny Flynn and Stephen Curry coming out of college and picked Flynn ahead of him. Mindnumbingly stupid.

QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 26, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) Stephen Curry has 15 points, 6 assists, 6 steals and 3 rebounds on 4-of-5 shooting in the first half. That's really, really, really, REALLY good. Bulls had 14 turnovers in the half (leading to 16 points), including at least two from each of their five starters. In other hilariously small sample sized (and mostly meaningless) first half stats, Kwame Brown was +18 in 13 minutes.

I will never understand some of the threes that Rose takes.

I'm not a Bulls fan by any means, but I'm embarrassed by their defensive performance thus far.
-
They're just getting murdered right now. I'm not sure if Golden State is playing good D or if the Bulls are just playing sloppy (in reality, it's probably a combination of both), but 9 turnovers is inexcusable. Golden State also has 13 assists on 15 baskets. Great ball movement, so far.
-
8 first quarter turnovers for the Bulls, and a lucky bounce from Watson on their last play away from being 9. Not pretty, thus far. Wonder how many 30 point quarters they allowed last season... couldn't have been too many. EDIT: From a quick look at a few games last season, I guess it was more common than I expected. Whatever, I guess.

This free league pass preview owns. Also, the Bulls are playing incredibly sloppy basketball so far. I imagine most teams will have stretches like this thanks to the condensed schedule.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) They just signed Bonzi Wells for gods sake. They brought him in for training camp, nothing more. There's nothing wrong with that.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) The Wolves are interesting. They keep acquiring talent, but I still don't see all the pieces fitting together to make any sort of contender. Keeping Love this upcoming offseason will be huge, as he's pretty awesome. They need to, at some point, combine some of these assets for a big-time player if/when one hits the market, and pray said dude wants to extend in Minnesota (no small feat for any team not in LA/Miami, apparently). They're in desperate need for a defender/playmaker at the 2 and an athletic big in the front court to put alongside Love. Of course, getting either of those things is much easier said than done, so they've still got a long way to go.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 18, 2011 -> 03:02 AM) So, Derrick Williams at PF? So Love is the C? T-Wolves need to go Rubio-SG-Williams-Love-NotDarko to be good. It depends on the matchup. Love SHOULD be playing the 5 a lot more than he does (or at least, did last year), if only because there aren't that many centers around the league that will really take advantage of his poor defense. I think we'll see a lot of Rubio/Barea/Beasley/Williams/Love, which isn't the best lineup defensively, but is pretty interesting offensively.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 17, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) Ricky Rubio definitely has game. I don't think the Wolves will be good this year by any means, but they're at least moving in the right direction. Rubio is more suited for the NBA game than the euro game, and he's got plenty of athletes to take advantage of.

Why does everyone assuming saying a team was lucky is this grave travesty against human nature? The Bulls obviously had a great season, thanks largely to their superb defense. They were a very, very good team that had the right set of circumstances surrounding their season to win 62 games. Just because they were lucky doesn't mean they weren't a great team.
-
Just because specific players didn't play well over their heads all season long doesn't mean the team wasn't lucky. You pretty much have to be lucky to go 62-20, just from sheer probability.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) Giving owners who compete with teams in the league a vote is such an epic fail. This is like giving Brian Cashman a vote when the Red Sox pull off an awesome trade. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) Right now league spokesman Tim Frank has said the owners had nothing to do with the decision, saying the league office made a "basketball decision."

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) That's fine, we'll sit back and chuckle at the Timberwolves play on the court. sick burnnnnnnnnnnn
