KONG vs MANNY
You've watched him man left field in Boston, and yet balls still drop in front of him. How deep is left in Fenway again?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) The better defensive player between Manny and Carl is like the taller midget thing. hahaha, yea

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Thanks for playing. Thanks for proving nothing. You've just said that the defensive stats arent right about Crede or A-Rod, but have yet to say something positive about Manny in the field.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) Come on, pal. What ridiculous statements did i make here? or are you also of the belief that Carl Everett is the better everyday outfielder than Manny Ramirez? :headshake Everett >>> Manny

KONG vs MANNY
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) So whats your proof, Felix? Watching him lazily walk to fly balls over his head and lazily throw them back into the infield. Watching him drop routine plays in the outfield.

KONG vs MANNY
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) He is not horrible but amongst regulars he's probably the worst. Can we agree on that? Manny's fielding gaffe's are much more mental than physical. He is capable of producing a web gem. He has produced his share over the years. He can do it with his glove or his arm. But too often he has a mental lapse & looks like a lil' leaguer. That leads to poor ZR If you can give me any proof that he's not horrible, then yea, I agree with you. But until then, he's horrible. And your second paragraph can be said for just about anyone.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Redandwhite....when I'm agreeing with Felix and Rowand44 in the same thread, there most be some flaw in your argument! I thought the same thing (not about Rowand44, but about agreeing with you )

KONG vs MANNY
redandwhite Manny is horrible. Give me one REAL reason why he's underrated. His assists? He's in Boston and people try running on him all the time. He gives up on fly balls, he gives up on bloopers, he gives up on throws. How is that underrated?

Win it For..
Win it for my dad. He's gone through enough letdown in his life with sport teams.. (Sox and Cubs fan)

KONG vs MANNY
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) I strongly disagree & you can look at his assist numbers dating back to his CLE days as well as on the road. Manny has a strong enough arm (when he wants to use it) to throw runners out at home plate. I've seen him do it. I don't know if he can catch it near the wall on a regular basis @ the cell but I've seen him do that as well when he plays on the road. He gets loads of chances to throw people out because they run on his arm. He sucks at defense.

KONG vs MANNY
I'm hoping you are joking. He doesnt even try to chase after some balls, and just lobs to ball into the infield on others. The reason he has so many assists is because he plays in Fenway, and everyone trys to run on him since he sucks.

KONG vs MANNY
I highly doubt the Sox would start Manny in the outfield if they got him.. he's a DH, no more.

Shut up Tim McCarver
Not sure if its been posted, if not, here it is http://www.shutuptimmccarver.com/

Look what the Sox offered for Billy Wagner
That would be a moronic trade and wouldnt make sense for us. Who would play 3rd, Ozuna?

The Magic Number is 5

Hernandez's pain could be McCarthy's gain
Well, my guess is that he'll give Chicago some time to give him an offer he likes (didnt he say this earlier this year?), and $50/4 should do it then. If it comes down to bidding with other teams, do what is needed to get him back.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) For 18 million a year? If he does that, then you can kiss one of our starters goodbye. With the increase in payroll due to our success, I dont think we would lose anyone. Plus, I only said 18 million if neccessary. Offer him $50 million/4 years and he wouldnt reject it.
