  1. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 08:32 AM) For those that listen to the Score alot know its no secret those two had a standing fued.They are really pretty open about it,more Boers feeds into it than Murph because Murph knows Boers will make him look like and ass. I think Murph knows he will get fired. B&B are the biggest show that station has and Murph doesn't get along with anyone on that station anymore since North left. Even Steve Stone sounds annoyed when he's on with Murph. The only think I like about Murph is that he will talk baseball in the winter.
  2. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 05:38 PM) Do Murph and Boers/Bernstein actually hate each other? Or is it all an act on the part of B&B? Has this ever been addressed on air, anyone know? Boers hit him pretty hard just now. And Berns/Murph come from two total opposite ends of the spectrum. As I understand it, about 10 years ago, Boers joked that Murph was gay. Murph didn't laugh. Since then they've hated each other. Murph also got into it with Mulligan back in 2005 or so.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) Did Chip just say that "Upton plays shallowy"? Is that a word? Glad Lester is getting knocked around a bit. Kinda old with him being hailed the next Koufax by some. Beckett is pitching.
  4. Castillo was also hurt last year and played only 87 games. His career slugging is .355.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) He also has a bum knee, and pleaded with Jerry Manuel to bench him at home, because he didn't like to be booed. Yep... he'd go pretty well with the fans famous for making sure Damaso Marte never pitched in the Cell again Well that's a problem...but he would come cheap.
  6. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 05:38 AM) Murphy is going to be their new 2B-man next season IIRC. That's what I'm reading as well. However, the Mets have Luis Castillo signed through 2011. The remainder of that deal is roughly 3 years/18M. He has been very productive until last season. He may be a guy that would be cheap to acquire. Of course he will be 33.

    Films Thread

    I saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Essentially it's Juno but not as funny or as entertaining. Lots of teen angst. I'm totally indifferent to it. My girlfriend liked it, but I cannot, for the life of me, understand why. Also saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Some parts are hilarious, but not the overall good movie that I was expecting. Worth seeing though.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 07:04 AM) The speedy and available: Brian Roberts, Ichiro Suzuki (maybe), Coco Crisp, Nick Punto, Willy Taveras, Jerry Hairston Jr., Juan Pierre, Randy Winn, Bobby Abreu, Luis Castillo, Corey Patterson, Julio Lugo, and Cesar Izturis. source: mlbtraderumors.com Of course, Roberts and Ichiro. But Izturis is an interesting name to me, because he knows how to play NL style ball, he's not as old, and he wouldn't be as expensive to acquire. Crisp and Lugo might be worth taking a look at as well. Patterson for 4th/5th outfielder (if Wise/Anderson go) Punto for Uribe's "supersub" position, but not as a starter (I think Minnesota will probably pick up his option/offer arbitration) Well I think this list shows why Swisher was leading off last year. Izturis is bad. Really bad. .319 OBP isn't going to help the top of the order. Getz would probably be a better option. Roberts would be awesome, but there are no guarantees with the Orioles, and I don't know if we have the ammo. Ichiro isn't available. Taveras is probably the best option, despite his awful year last year. I don't know if there is a reason for that, but he'll only be 27 next year.
  9. I just saw this article and I laughed, and didn't know where else to put it so: Rosenblog Notice in the comments, Sox fans are called terrorists.
  10. See this is the money quote to me: As much as we expect moves for Hudson or Furcal, it's more likely that he has some prospect on his mind that he's had on his board for the last couple of years that we don't know about.
  11. QUOTE (AnkleSox @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:58 PM) It hasn't been a consistent call all SERIES as far as I've seen. This has been brutal umpiring for a playoff series. That being said, the Sox offense is the reason we're on the brink of elimination. No question. The calls bother me because it effects our pitching rather than our hitting.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:54 PM) Thome just looks brutal against lefties. He could stand there and take 4 and get a walk. But he insists on swinging at crap.
  13. That low fastball hasn't been an even call all day.
  14. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:48 PM) Keep swinging for those fences guys.
  15. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:48 PM) Keep swinging for those fences guys.
  16. What the f*** is OC doing? How many fastballs can you take?
  17. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:41 PM) Javy 4.67 Sonnanstine 4.38 stupid score.
  18. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) Javy? The Score said Sonnanstine was worse. I know it's 4+
