Thats a retarded deal for the Marlins.

What a pleasant game to watch. Shows something about the posters on this site when loser threads are posted the instant the last out is recorded but a winner thread is like 10 minutes after the game.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) Your post doesn't deserve a response, but I'll respond anyway. Josh Smith is 99.9% unattainable for the Bulls. Not even worth looking into because if a S&T is done, he has BYC status. Read the CBA, find out salaries and tell me one way in which a Josh Smith is available for the Bulls. Nevermind that though, let's guess, he could be a big SG for the Chicago Bulls, though he would be playing out of position. At least he would be a great defender. Yes, because even after being rated #1 overall for 3 years in a row (with Kirk guarding SG's and Ben guarding PG's), that got us 3 championships. Oh wait, it only got us 1 playoff round victory. That's the problem with Chicago teams in general, fans love to concentrate on defense, defense, defense, because it shows off work ethic somehow, but don't want to think or realize that you can be rated #1 overall and still not win s*** if you have no offense which is the problem with the Bears and Bulls and was the problem with the Blackhawks when Dale first took over. Defense doesn't win championships, balance does. And the reason why I think Gordon should get the same contract if not more is because he has proven to be this team's best player over the past 4 years. He's had the team's best work ethic, and has improved his defensive game, regardless of the false facts some fans want to hang onto saying Scott Skiles knows nothing about defense or the Bulls. He's also a lot more dynamic of a player than Deng is. The problem is not Gordon wanting more, the problem is the Bulls rewarding Deng for a s*** season and way overpaying him. I didn't know Ben Gordon posted at SoxTalk.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) Meh, not as good a once was IMO. That damn Freshman 15.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 02:08 PM) That's a major win for the Warriors. Harrington isn't in their plans, Jackson's going to be a 6th man after the Maggette acquisiton, and Nelson never plays rookies. PG: Ellis / Williams SG: Ellis / Maggette SF: Maggette / Smith PF: Smith / Wright C: Biedrins That's a very nice looking lineup that would score a TON. I know Monta Ellis is good...but damn!

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) I didn't say elite, I said above average. He's said it a couple of times in post game interviews when he's guarding PG's. He's also been quoted in the Sun-times before talking about how Ben really had terrible technique defending his rookie year but has really improved to the point where he's not a liability and actually is above average guarding the 1 spot. I firmly trust that you don't watch any Bulls games then. He's a turn stile who has no clue what to do when a screen comes. I also wouldn't really call Brad Miller injury prone, at least not as much as he used to be. 72+ games in 2 of the last 3 seasons.

Wow, Kap is right, this EXACT same thread has shown up like every year since 2005. I'm f***ing IN!

What the hell happened to our pitching/defense?
SoxFan1 replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Injuries have really killed this team in one way or the other if you think about it. It all started with Crede's back surgery. He's obviously not the same, smooth defensive player he once was and now the back has placed him on the DL. His hitting hasn't been too hot either. Then you get PK with the whole hand issue this season. It could still be bothering him, who know, but it has definitely thrown him off completely. Then you have Contreras with his injury, then Linebrink, then Thornton starts feeling it...well, there goes 2 important guys from your pen. If we could get this team back to full strength again, we'd be ready to rock and roll. -
QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) GREAT! We won the division by .5 games and play Tampa Bay in the 1st Round!! Thank God...you might be the only sane person here.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 11:57 PM) I wonder if we could deal Gordon and Hinrich to NY for David Lee... You're kidding...right?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) People said the same thing about the Brewers with C.C. last week. You mean when they were on a 9 game winning streak and Sabathia dominated his 1st 4 starts with the Brewers?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) There's a couple of signatures as well. Initials?

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) whitesoxbrian probably has his LOSER thread ready to hit ADD THREAD. Since the 5th inning.

Rally Fields...let's do it.

Kinda sad when we're praising our 12 million dollar 1st baseman for a line out to 3rd and a single.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) Thornton has a slider? What f***ing team do you watch?!!?

PK is going to go yard.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) goodbye 1st place, goodbye playoffs. Shut up.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) Thanks.... If someone who had no clue who you were came in here and read game threads, as well as the Cubs thread in Diamond Club...they just might get that assumption.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) I think the Cubs would pound the Angels in that match-up. You overrate them so much some times. I occasionally wonder whether you really are a Cubs fan.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 07:39 PM) He strikes out too much. Bonds, a few years ago, would have been much more likely. Interesting question though. Do you realize how many singles would he hit through the 1st/2nd base hole? 2nd, he needs to learn to bunt down the 3B line...
-
Just a random though... Jim Thome would have a REALLY good shot to bat .400 over the course of a season if they didn't put the shift on him.
