Umm, Davis, wow.

It's the 1st time around the order. Give 'em a chance to get to know the pitcher. It's the 2nd inning...relax.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) Sweet, 2 men on for Hamilton. A big series, and he can have 100 RBI at the ASB. Edit: Gavin's curveball is just brutal so far. He's thrown 8 of them, 7 for balls, and the other was a hit. Haha. He gets the hook over when it counts.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) Maybe you can say something of substance... Boston, LAA, Milwaukee, Tampa, Toronto, Oakland, Cubs, Arizona all have better starting staffs IMO. I'd have to look a little bit more to see if I could find more teams. I'm a guy who takes quality over quantity. So I look at a team like Milwaukee with two #1 starters and I'm pretty sure I'd rather have their rotation. And Bush, Suppan, and Parra have pitched about as well as Contreras and Vazquez. Maybe the the Sox have the best #4 and #5 starters (Vazquez and Count) in the league but come playoff time that doesn't really matter much. I suppose stats don't mean much to you. But ok.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 04:54 PM) 2 of our starters suck right now. Gavin has been a little iffy for the last month until his start against Oakland, which is just a pathetic hitting team. I am not going to hold this game against him regardless what happens, but to say this is one of the best rotations in baseball right now is false. They still have good numbers because of the first two months so statistically they'd be right up there. But if you'd ask me to pick the best rotations at the moment, the Sox might not even make my top 10. This entire post is absolutely ridiculous.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) I dont think he would ever sign here. Maybe Minny because that rivalry isnt as strong as ours but I dont know if Favre would want to do that to the Green Bay fans who have loved him for years. Not if they f*** him over like they seem to be wanting to do. I'm sure he'd love to beat the hell out of the Packers as a Bear if this situation causes the two to sour on each other.

QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) As of July 11, the White Sox are #1 in ESPN's Power Rankings. Check it out ......wow.

Didn't know this:
-
Am I the only Bears fan who would take a shot on Favre? Simply to piss off every Packer fan? And also to hope he still has something in the tank?
-
GP....that's f***ing awesome.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 01:33 AM) Ed Walsh? He pitched for 4 seasons and had an above 5 ERA. What on Earth are you talking about? He's the MLB career leader with a 1.82 ERA.
-
The Tour de France is a load of crap.
-
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) If the Sox got rid of every player this board has wanted to get rid of, I think we would still have AJ, Alexei, Quentin, and Jenks and that is about it. Jenks would have been gone following either series vs Baltimore. Alexei would have been gone following the first couple weeks of the season.

I'd deal him + BA for the best CF we can get.

QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) So this is a ritual here now? Post a LOSS thread after every loss now too? Yeesh... We should put a big L flag up on the site too and call it lovable. Wake up and go get them in Texas.

QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) how did they get an inside the park home run? someone dive for the ball? The gap in right-center was about 8 miles long. Teahen kept chugging all the way, and when Swish got Alexei the ball in short-center, Alexei put his head down and jogged it it. When he finally realized Teahen was heading home, the throw was off/late. -

QUOTE (quickman @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) Paulie is really useless and has been all year, there is really no benefit both offensively or defensively that he should be playing. he has lost the edge and will not gain it back this year. Now the sox must recognize this and bench the asswipe The only reason I give him the benefit of the doubt is because he has a history of having terrible halves and great halves. I give him 2-3 weeks into the 2nd half before I make any big decisions. -
