QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 12, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) Which building is it in the picture? The one to the right of Aon Center (the tallest, white one).

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2008 -> 06:19 AM) Another interesting project to watch is Blue Cross/Blue Shield getting 30ish more floors on top of its exsisting structure. Because of its locations right on the northern end of Millenium Park it is an easy one to watch the progress of. I didn't know they were adding so many on to the Blue Cross/Blue Shield building. As of now, they have the framing for about 6 or 7 floors up. Here's the rendering of the final product (taller than 340 on the Park):

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 12, 2008 -> 02:02 AM) It's good to see we're finally past the "OMG, tall buildings are targets" phase once and for all. I like the Aqua building. It has to be a good 1,000+ feet if it's comparable to the Aon Center, which -- at a time long since passed -- was the 10th tallest building in the world. According to Wikipedia, Aon Center (83 floors) stands at 1136 ft tall and is 16th largest in the world currently and Aqua will be somewhere around 822 feet tall with 87 floors.

Wanted to bump this. The Trump Tower is finally getting places. The Spire's foundation and what not is still under construction. And I today realized that the Aqua building will be right near the Aon Center. With them being very similar heights, I think they are going to complement each other well. Coming from the south on Lake Shore Drive is going to be something else. BTW, my fascination with this mainly comes from seeing progress every couple months. Being away at school, and not going downtown much anyway while in Chicago, it's cool to come back and see those buildings getting taller and taller. SKYSCRAPERS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Aqua: 225 N Columbus (next to Aon Center) Waterview Tower: 121 W Wacker (Across the river from the Merchandise Mart, not far from Trump) Trump Tower: 401 North Wabash Avenue (Old Sun-Times Building location) 300 North Lasalle: 321 N LaSalle (Across from future Waterview) Legacy Tower at Millennium Park: Monroe and Wabash Then we also have the Chicago Spire obviously (built out near the Navy Pier entrance) and One Musuem Park, which likes out of place right now.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 11, 2008 -> 06:27 PM) Hey Slav. Remember Citizen Kane? Rosebud was . Hey, I know people who still haven't seen any of the Rocky's or Godfather's, gotta stay on the safe side.

QUOTE (TheOcho @ May 11, 2008 -> 12:29 AM) Very few movies effect me, but the Green Mile had me shed some tears at the end... what a damn good movie. I always get a bit choked up in Shawshank when I really shouldn't black it out because everyone and their mom needs to see that movie. One of my Top 3 all time.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 11, 2008 -> 04:58 PM) Gavin didn't have too great of an outing today. Thanks for the details.

Looks like Gavin didn't have too great of an outing today. Can someone fill me in?

With each passing day, I anticipate The Dark Knight even more. HBO has Batman Returns on tonight and then I followed it up by watching Batman Begins on DVD.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) Best show on TV, and although they've done a lot of funny stuff, this might be my favorite in recent memory. Also, back on topic, LA and New Orleans are looking damn good. /Captain Obvious. Awesome. I watch them all the time, but I missed this one. Pretty hilarious. This one goes above the Kenny Smith jumping over a car video.

Steve Carrell/Brick Tamland makes that movie... http://youtube.com/watch?v=KakinPNRiDc Brian: "Where the hell's the suit store? We've been walking for 45 minutes." Champ: "Brick, I thought you said this was a shortcut?" Brick: [laughing] "Fa-antastic." Ron: "Well is it a shortcut or not?" Brick: [laughing] "O-o-kay."

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) Ozzie using the template bullpen mode at the end was impressive as well. No, it was a terrible decision, you have to play the left match-up against Mauer and Morneau. We got incredibly lucky Linebrink didn't give up a run. Ozzie in an idiot.
-
Somehow...someway, we won the series.
-
Quentin was really late on that swing.
-
Haha! Morneau drops the ball!

JUANNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) So the fact we haven't won games as a manger makes Ozzie a good manager? Whatever you say. The fact is Ozzie does a poor job managing the bullpen. He does almost everything else well, but he's awful at bullpen mixing and matching. Most managers suck at something, but when it's as important as the bullpen it hurts the team. Luckily it hasn't today. I'm sorry. You're 10000% correct. Let's replay that scoreless inning that Linebrink had and see what would have happened had Thornton/Boone came in.

Look at the aggressive base running! JD takes 3rd on the wild pitch.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:57 PM) He's right? Rivera is better against lefties than most of the best lefty relievers in the history of baseball. It's a terrible example, not me starting something. He's not comparing Linebrink to Mariano, he's comparing the situation. Maybe it isn't the best comparison, but it hold water. The fact of the matter is that people here think they are much better managers than Ozzie. How many Major League wins do you guys have as manager?
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) The fact you just compared a situation involving Scott Linebrink to Mariano Rivera proves you don't belong in this conversation. It's am example. And he's right anyway. Please don't start that crap.

Neshek hurt.

Swisher needs a vacation.

People here make me sick. When Ozzie plays the match-ups and brings in Logan/Thornton, he's wrong and should have brought in his set-up man and is micro-managing. But when he brings in his set-up man, he's wrong for not bringing in the LOOGY and playing the match-ups. Give me a f***ing break.
