  1. Wow, DJ and Hawk we're completely correct on that last AB by Dye. When you watch the best pitch to swing at, you might as well sit down vs Johan.
  2. 1 more of those and Thome is gawn.
  3. Santana walks Paulie.
  4. Johan at 88-90? Gun must be slow then.
  5. There ya go John. 1-2-3 inning, nice.
  6. Nice play by Pablo.
  7. LMAO, Danks might as well wear sweat pants.
  8. GET TO DA CHOPPPAAAH DANKS!!!
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 12:42 PM) This way you give Buehrle an extra day of rest as well, it could be the difference between Mark making his start and having to go to an emergency to starter in his place. And to be honest I feel more comfortable with Danks on the mound than Contreras right now. That's how bad Contreras' stuff looked on Opening Day. Ozzie was also hinting that Contreras may be having some mental issues right about now, I'd rather not send a mental case out to the mound against a division rival and one of the best pitchers of all time. Contreras has always had mental issues, we've known that. But it's more so confidence. He had the Javy complex for a while, and now it's back. If he doesn't get his pitches called for strikes, he loses confidence, and goes to the next pitch, usually the splitter. And if he cant get it in the zone, they won't swing, and he'll be forced to throw the fastball in the zone. Honestly, I think Count will be fine, just some fine tuning and getting used to the air up north. We all know what he can do, he just needs to get the confidence to be dominant. He needs that attitude that will make him a great pitcher.
  10. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 12:32 PM) I think its just not worth skipping ahead in the rotation to Jose knowing that he threw about as bad a game as I've seen him throw, results-wise. Lets see what Danks can do here against a guy that has notoriously owned us. Just seems illogical to me. You've got a chance to throw your #1 against the best pitcher in baseball, but instead, you decide to go with the guy making his ML debut? I dunno, I hope I'm wrong and Danks gets the W. I sure do love me some Danks though, I'd just prefer he didn't make his 1st start against Johan.
  11. Have people really soured on Jose already? Only reason he didn't win the Cy Young last season because of his injury-ridden 2nd half. IIRC, he was 9-0 in the 1st half last season, and amongst the most dominating pitchers in the MLB. Now, he has a terrible Opening Day start, and he's no good anymore?
  12. What happened to Contreras starting this game???
  13. Oh man, feels good to be back...
  14. Chelsea/Valencia a 1:1 draw and Man United downed 2:1 against Roma in today's Champions League matchups. Racing Santander close to getting a UEFA spot in La Liga...Zigic with the hat trick against Bilbao last weekend.

Finally going to see this tomorrow. Can't wait...
  16. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 02:52 PM) Pfft they all looked like geeks, 5/10 Same.
  17. I picked Winthrop over Oregon, Washington State over Vandy, Wisconsin (who I had in the Final 4) over UNLV, Virginia over Tennessee, and Texas over USC...not a great day for me. I've got 6 of my Elite 8 teams still in, and 3 of my Final Four teams still in.
  18. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) Gio is going to be a stud, IMO. I think Danks & Gio are going to make a great 1-2 lefty punch, like Santana and Lirano. Boy you're really going out on a limb there...
  19. Danks stat-line look much worse than how he pitched.
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) It's obvious Danks wasn't fooling anyone the second time around with a major league lineup. That's not very good for his sake. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.....that sounds a lot like another lefty we recently traded to the Cubs.
  21. Ozzie pulls Danks, on comes Gavin Floyd. My prediction: Floyd shuts them down, and we're back at square one.
  22. Wind is blowing out, Giles with the 2 out double.
  23. Nice play by Crede at 3rd.
  24. Branyan with the bomb. Danks leaving them over the plate.
