Im thinking KW is looking past this season with these trades. It seems as if he is targeting players who can take over for Crede and PK. These include, but are not limited to, Overbay, Huff, Mackowiak, Lowell, and Clark. Clearly, PK is gone at the end of the season. I REALLY would have loved Overbay here but it is not going to happen. I can only hope KW does the smart thing tomorrow.

Well, I went to the Sports Collectors Show at the Stevens Convention Center or whatever and I was amazed. I got my fair share of White Sox memorabilia. Bought about 300 cards, many for very low prices. I also found out an autographed rookie Henry Aaron card I own is worht a LOT of money. There was one booth which had a sale of 10 cards for a dollar and one box had ALL White Sox cards so I ended up buying a lot from there. I finished with: - 2 Shingo Takatsu Autographed Rookie Cards (1 w/ game worn jersey) - Mark Buehrle Holographic Card - Ray Durham Rookie Card - Warren Spahn HOF Card - Enos Slaughter Autographed Card - Robin Ventura Rookie Card - LaMarr Hoyt '83 Cy Young Card - 3 Various Harold Baines Autographed Cards - 3 Various Carlton Fisk cards - Bo Jackson White Sox 93 Card - 1959 Billy Pierce ASG Starter Card - Tadahito Iguchi Rookie Card (very rare) - George Brett 85 MVP Card - 3 Varous Ozzie Guillen Cards - 2005 Holographic AJ Pierzynski Card - Various White Sox cards (Pasqua, 1-Dog (3), KW (2), 1991/1917 Turn Back The Clock, Bobby Thigpen, BlackJack, and Kittle) Also got 4 basketball cards (Autographed Deng, Rookie Eddy Curry, Rookie Captain Kirk, Ben Gordon Rookie) and a Record-Brekaing Peyton Manning Wheaties Box. I also got the opportunity to meat a few celebrities who happened to be atrending. I met Mike Ditka, Mongo, Otis Wilson, Dennis McKinnon, Rob Van Dam from wrestling, and a couple Playboy Playmates... I was very happy with my visit.

I am very stumped as to why Wagner is considering retiring after this season. 34 is still quite young and he is still a top reliever. I would like him on the Sox very much. Hopefully, he'd re-sign instead of re-tiring.

This rumore makes my stomach queezy. I don't like it. I don't like even being mentioned in this rumor even if it is just speculation. I HIGHLY doubt the Red Sox would trade Manny to us anyway. I can't even imagine how badly KW would overpay for Manny.

As much as I want to cheer, it would be a real jackass thing to do. Any injury sucks and well, I dunno...

Went to the Card Show in downtown today. I met wrestles Rob Van Dam, Mike Ditka, Mongo McMichael, Otis Wilson, Dennis McKinnon, and a couple playboy playmates.... I also purchased my fair share (a lot) of White Sox cards and memorabilia.

Florida gets Lowell's .653(though rising) OPS out of the lineup with Conine going to LF, and Miggy going to 3B, and getting a stud LH reliever while also receiving a good SP for the future who is fairly close to the majors. Philly receives a SP boost in Burnett, and an offensive and probably defensive upgrade in Crede too. What I could also see is this deal being contingent upon Philly being able to dump Bell elsewhere...perhaps to the Sox, perhaps elsewhere. The Sox could also potentially keep McCarthy, making it a true 3-team trade, with Florida receiving Padilla and Marte, the Sox receiving Lowell and Wagner, and the Phillies receiving Burnett and Crede. I could also see, in the above scenario, the Sox taking on David Bell too. That all makes way too much sense for the Sox, and possibly not enough for the other two...but dammit I tried. And here I was determined to not make a long winded, complete speculation post all year...and then I pull off this doozy. Woo-hoo, drinks on me. I'll take a Lemon Iced-Tea please....
