LA Times Sports Writer Announces
It is because he wrote a piece about it, and drudge picked up on it. From the TG people I know, its such a hard thing to go through, and really really can destroy someone's psyche.

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) They don't have to go after him. That's the really sad part. The other issue is we love Governors, not Senators. The only governor running in the GOP is Romney and he's from Mass no less. Both sides do it. The RNC is just way better at it.

GOP Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) I'd suggest the opposite. He's soft right, with PR helping him reach the far right. He's far right on certain issues, not others. He's a little all over the place - and frankly I'm not interested in nominating someone that claims to be a conservative and winks at you. That happened in 2000, and frankly - a lot of the country would take back that vote today if they could. McCain panders and he seems tired and sometimes just this side of Stockdale.

WCIU and blackouts (HD related ramblings)
QUOTE(Top Notch @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) WCIU pays for the rights to the game. It should be blacked out, regardless of how s***ty the quality is or not. I believe it is part of their "shadow affiliate" deal with WGN that they get a few Sox and Cubs games.

I'm guessing we'll see 3.50 nationwide by Memorial Day, a lot of places pushing 4.

Bill Richardson is the guy poised to jump out of the second tier IMO. He went to North Korea and fixed Bush's six year problem in six days. This guy has executive experience and the foreign policy smarts to do well for us.

Hotel for Sox series in New York
QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:49 AM) Thanks for the info everyone. Aside from the Statue of Liberty, Time Square and all the big tourist attractions, can anyone recommend some restaurants, bars, museums, etc to check out?? Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown. - Soup Dumplings! Amazing! Lots of good Thai food in Hell's Kitchen, I really enjoyed Yum Yum Bangkok actually. Also, if its still there, check out the Bodies exhibit at South Street Seaport. And Coney Island's amusement park is in its last season. It gets torn down after the summer. I would recommend hotwiring for a place in Manhattan. Just keep in mind that hotel rooms in NYC can be pretty teeny.

Things not so pleasant in Baldwin-ville
I think what bothers me the most is how much so many people on the "right wing" commentary side are trying to use this to color the other side of the political spectrum. I was listening to Jerry Agar on WABC last week and they were talking about this. The caller and host both agreed that this is just a good description of liberal values, etc.... It just makes me a little sad.

What the hell??? Why is the Wii so hard to find still?
It's kinda why I don't even think the Wii and the PS3 should really be compared. Two different electronic systems for two different audience serving two different purposes.

It's more like Metra or the South Shore, only difference is the shelf is bigger.

Taking the midnight train going anywhere
If you have anything valuable that you want to keep using on the train, keep it under your legs at your seat while you're napping. They are as secure as they are anywhere else. Just make sure people aren't going through your crap.

I think the internet, weather and news stuff is pretty bad ass too. And I love how in Wii Sports it suggests going outside after half an hour.

On some trains yes. Although its often easier to put it above you. Getting your bags at Penn Station for example, sucks balls.
