  1. It was also a small sample size. Robert played what, 70 games?
  2. The issue is that all of the high floor/high ceiling hitters that the Sox acquired seem to be coming nowhere close to their ceilings and are basically being their safe floor or slightly above (looking at Moncada/Robert/Eloy) There's still time for Vaughn but it's disheartening that all of those guys are only scraping barely above the floor.
  3. The Sox have a lot of solid offensive players but Anderson looks like he might be the only special one.
  4. I think it's quite possible that the offense(and individual players) aren't as good as we thought. Robert looks more like Mike Cameron than Mike Trout.
  5. Cleveland has an offense this year. That should scare the living shit out of Sox fans.
  6. The whole point is that I couldn't give two shits about the Sox low strikeout rate because they're 27th in MLB in team OBP and that matters much more. An out is an out most of the time. Just make fewer of them.
  7. A walk is exactly that: Not putting a ball in play. The point that I'm making is that by putting the ball in play more often, you might get more hits but the walks are going to plummet as a result. Baseball is hard. Get on base any way you can. It is a rare player that has a low k rate and a high OBP. The deeper you work into counts, the higher the strikeout risk. I can live with the ks if it means my lineup is making fewer outs overall.
  8. I'm pro-OBP and I think they're somewhat linked that the fewer strikeouts you make, the more outs you make. The whole point of offense is to not make outs.
  9. Neither team could hit their way out of a wet paper bag atm.
  10. They're trying to give the Sox the game and Sox are like, no thanks.
  11. JFC how many meatballs are they gonna miss?
  12. Just a hair too quick, Jose. Dadgummit.
