  1. They were doubling or tripling up on both pitch and location. @fathom where you at on this. Please back me up.
  2. There's a huge misunderstanding about my opinion on Madrigal and Vaughn. I don't think they were bad picks per se, but I do think they were more risky than people realize. I don't like players with those types of profiles in the top 5. It's just a philosophy opinion. They both have a ton of positives about their games, but I wouldn't have taken a player like them until the 6-10 range. They definitely have talent, but not a ton of positional versatility. Madrigal has answered all of my questions and then some. He's great. A lot of my criticisms of him were because I forgot he had a wrist injury. That excuses him. We'll wait and see with Vaughn.
  3. Throwing the same pitch 4 times in a row in the same location isn't horrible? What planet are you from???
  4. This start and Giolito's starts Thursday and vs. The Cubs in Wrigley are exhibit A for it. He walked right into the opposition's hands. The amount of 2 strike hits Sox pitchers are giving up with him behind the plate is astounding. On 4-5 of the hits Lopez gave up tonight, he was ahead in the count.
  5. Yeah he's fine. He's just not a .330 hitter. He has made some legitimate improvements.
  6. If you look up the metrics you can come to that conclusion. Moncada has a high BABIP but he also destroys baseballs when he makes contact, hits a ton of line drives and is super fast. Those things lead to a more sustainable high BABIP. Giolito is missing tons of bats and his spin rates have gone from below average to above average. Anderson is going to have seasons where he hits .265 and seasons where he hits .310. He's probably good for 20/20 every year regardless.
  7. Because Kluber, Salazar and Carrasco will all be returning. They have a full rotation with those 3, Clevinger and Bieber. Reyes is a long term piece. Their OF was trash and Puig and Reyes are a huge upgrade there.
  8. I want the best for them too. Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade though.
  9. No, Moncada, Anderson and Giolito are legitimate positives. There is nothing lucky about their improvement. McCann is a different story and his game calling has been awful for a month and a half.
  10. He was on a BABIP bender. C'mon dude. I like optimism but this is unicorns farting rainbows right here.
  11. Very true. I don't agree with you often, but I do here.
  12. I didn't think I was being that negative. I made positive comments as well. Lopez did a really good job tonight. I was in a bad mood because Moncada got injured. Also the pitch sequencing was atrocious and it was a legitimate criticism. The amount of 2 strike hits they allowed was ridiculous.
  13. He should just man up and get one related to every team he plays for in his career. This trade makes a bit more sense if they're trying to win. Their OF was trash and they just upgraded two positions, and Kluber, Salazar are back soon, and Carrasco should return by the end of the season.
  14. Yeah. They're learning from the Royals mistake. Despite that, their window is closed. They'll be running a fire sale in December.
  15. Wasn't directed at you, was directed at any meatheads from Cleveland complaining. That lineup has no chance in the playoffs. Their window is closed. They're learning from the Royals mistake.
  16. It's the right move though. Anyone with a brain knows that.
  17. Haha only AAAA players are allowed to get hits off of Thor.
  18. He has the baseball IQ of a fly. At least he pulled him after Nido I guess.
  19. Yanking like that will get a call occasionally.
  20. That was a good take. He's going to get that call more often than not.
  21. It is thru 4 IP for Syndergaard, but still.
  22. That would be a Renteria special. He obviously doesn't have good stuff and command tonight, so let's leave him out there to die.
