He didn't have a slider. He only threw a curveball. The weird thing is both Giolito and Lopez have both picked up a slider and completely lost their curveballs since joining the Sox. I really don't know why they taught Giolito a slider because he didn't need it. His curve was always ++ before he got here.
Cooper is a relic. I hope to god he's not entrenched, as it will be hard to get a decent manager to come here if he has to keep Cooper. The game has passed him by, he has ceased to be a good pitching coach ca. 2014-15
How hard is it to communicate in the OF at the pro level.
The weird velocity fluctuations and missing the zone completely with Lopez scream UCL. This is exactly what happened to Kopech both with command and velocity. I'll be surprised if Lopez makes it to Memorial Day at this point.
