  1. Now 1 for his last 14 after the blistering start. he obviously wasn't going to hit .475 forever, but now 9 K to only 3 BB. I'm not getting overly concerned yet, but concern is starting to creep in a bit.
  2. Those were 3 nasty pitches, he had to lay off of the breaking ball but he couldn't check it up. The called strike to Abreu fucked the inning. Thanks, Ump.
  3. Ryne Stanek and Jose Alvarado are really fucking good. Not sure if Stanek is currently healthy or not though.
  4. Where the hell did this fastball control come from, Fulmer???
  5. Because the bullpen is taxed already. He's got to take one for the team today.
  6. Yes he was, but only late in games. Did you watch? His last inning he was 95-98 pretty consistently around pitch 80-100 during his good stretch. around inning 3-4 he was 93-95 and innings 5-7 he was topping out at 96-98.
  7. He still has the 80 grade slider and a 65 slurve so he can get away with throwing 90-92 mph. He needs to learn how to command his fastball and changeup if he's ever going to be better than a #4 with this stuff. His breaking balls are nasty.
  8. The velocity was still there late in games. Nobody saw him throwing 89-91 this year coming. We all thought he'd get it back this season consistently because he was still pumping 96-98 mph late in games last season. He was 91-93 early in games last year and got stronger as the game went on. Rodon's velocity is much worse overall this season than it was in 2018.
  9. Rodon adding the slurve to his repertoire might replace his changeup. He still has a chance to be a #3 if he takes an approach similar to Pat Corbin.
  10. No command or control. He has no idea where anything other than the cheat code pitch is going.
  11. OMG thank you sooooo much. I've been saying this since 2015. KW runs the show, we all know it.
  12. I'd evaluate the players as the following: Stud position players: Moncada, Robert, Eloy Wild Card: (could be really good or meh to bad) Madrigal Complete lottery tickets: Burger Rutherford Adolfo Gonzalez Walker Basabe Pitcher Evaluations: Wild Cards: Kopech, Cease, Giolito Back end starter if he can stay healthy: Dunning Rodon Fringe Starter: Lopez
  13. I hate negativity about the Sox more than anyone but there really isn't a whole lot to be positive about currently. The pitching staff blows. The offense will be fine this year, but the pitching staff....Oy. I just choose not to get worked up about it anymore. I will enjoy (bad) baseball as best as I can and maybe I'll get excited when the Sox have new ownership. I still love baseball, but I'm not expecting anything from this FO/Ownership group. Maybe they'll surprise us, but I doubt it. Dollar Bill didn't keep me from watching the Blackhawks, so why would Uncle Jerry keep me from watching the Sox?
  14. If you mean the current ownership group and FO, yeah I agree. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Nothing is happening until there is new ownership. At that point, we should be happy if the team remains in Chicago. We have to continue to follow the team and bide our time. We're in a Blackhawks/Dollar Bill Wirtz situation currently. I doubt the Blackhawks win anything if Bill Wirtz lived 3 more years.
