  1. Giolito should've had 5 innings 3ER but Ricky is going to cost him 2 extra runs.
  2. Giolito should sue him for career sabotage. He's cost him so many runs.
  3. You could have said that for 50% of his starts last year.
  4. Now Ruiz is going to allow the inherited runners to score and Gio's ERA gets inflated by Renteria's mismanaging again. Gio was bad last year, but he probably actually pitched to a 4.80-5.10 ERA, but Ricky's mismanagement cost him 1-1.5 runs.
  5. Go get him now Ricky. He should have been done after 5. Fuck.
  6. Gio is a 95-100 pitch guy. He should always be pulled once he gets past 100 pitches.
  7. I don't even think he's necessarily good (at least right now) I just think that the rush to DFA the guy is extremely premature. I think he still has the talent to be an ace, but I'm not sure he ever gets there because of the control. You want my honest opinion about Rodon, and not my troll opinion? Rodon probably is never going to be an ace, because of control problems. He still has great stuff, even throwing 92-93 and he can definitely top out as a #2-3. I believe the same about Giolito. His control issues will probably prevent him from being an ace, and at worst both will be #4-5 starters that frustrate the fuck out of their fanbase.
  8. He still has it. Give him time. I think by the end of the season you'll all be surprised. The most encouraging thing is that Gio is missing bats this year.
  9. Gio is missing bats this year, I'm encouraged.
  10. Great fucking call. Benetti is a huge upgrade over 70 year old Hawk.
  11. Idk what you're watching. The ball didn't hit the wall but it barely cleared it. Fielders can scale the wall to make a catch you know. ELOY's 1st HR!!!!
  12. Going into this game, I thought that if Giolito pitched 5 innings with 3 ER or less it was a good start for him. Let's see if he can pull it off.
  13. Because the ball stayed under the glove? Just seemed like a lazy play by Torres.
  14. It isn't his fault, it is unfortunate. Leury is 5-8 and a 6-0+ RF makes that catch.
  15. That was a cheap HR. If anyone other than Leury is in RF that is an out. The broadcast said the xBA on that HR was .100
  16. I don't know what you guys are talking about but after the 1st 2 innings Gio has been pretty good. Only 2 ER. EDIT: I spoke too soon, and that was a cheap one.
  17. They're both getting worse. Fire Don Cooper.
  18. What was it in 2017? In 2018 he started throwing a slider and his curve suffered. IIRC Gio got a lot of swings and misses in 2017 late in the season on his curveball. Cooper has been ruining pitchers here. Giolito had a ++ curve before last season and Lopez had a decent one and now both guys are only fastball-change and are getting killed.
  19. BTW my comments about Rodon were a trolljob and intentional hyperbole. With regard to Giolito, Performance =/= stuff. I think he has good stuff but he doesn't know where it is going, and Giolito's curve is an "urban legend" as Fathom says because he buries it in the ground too much. if the guy could throw it for a strike it would work. My support of Giolito has always been with the caveat of "IF he ever figures out where the fuck the ball is going, he'll be fine" He doesn't know where the ball is going, and if that never changes he'll continue to suck.
