  1. 100% in agreement. The stuff is there for both, the command isn't. A lot of what gives me hope about Giolito is that his opponents batting average is still good despite the lack of results. That tells me the stuff is there for him. In 2018 his BAA was .250, which is fucking great for as bad of a season as he had. Gio's problem is he gives up hits and walks in the same inning, and is unhittable the remainder of the game. Same with Rodon, but to a lesser degree.
  2. Absolutely. If he does that with 25+ SB per year and GG D that is a great pick at #4. He has to get the XBH that aren't HRs to be a valuable player. No slap hitting.
  3. If both he and Giolito get their spring training velocity (Gio was sitting 95-96 this spring) back it is a huge development. Probably cold weather related.
  4. Even if Madrigal is a 5-10 HR a year guy, if he gets 40 2B and 5-10 3B per year that is still a good player.
  5. He hit 95-96 multiple times in the middle innings.
  6. I agree. There are positives to take from Rodon, Giolito, Moncada, Eloy, Anderson, and the minors. The pitching injuries suck, but besides that the arrow is pointing up in 2019. If Lopez can get straightened out things couldn't be going any better this year actually, injuries nonwithstanding.
  7. He won't be here when it's time, unless he tells Boras he wants to stay. I don't blame him either way with his injury issues.
  8. Sometimes I'm not the greatest at explaining my thoughts.
  9. That's not what I meant. What I meant was that he was setting up wrong. It was an easy fix that I didn't know if he'd figure out this week. Faldo reiterated exactly that so STFU.
  10. He fixed it over the weekend. Faldo was saying the same damn thing so STFU.
  11. This is the 4th or 5th Keuchel thread. He's not signing until after the draft. Enough already.
  12. Renteria did him no favors, that's for sure. That line is nowhere near great but somewhat acceptable given the game conditions and opponent. Why does everyone expect these guys to be fucking Trout and Scherzer right away. You all have unrealistic expectations.
  13. ^^^^^^^ I'm only vocal about Giolito because the majority of the board thinks he sucks and should have been DFA last June. I think I'm the only one who sees something there, and realizes that he was a massive reclamation project when he was acquired. Giolito was awful last season. I'm not arguing that. Should he probably have been in Charlotte working it out? In a perfect world, yeah. Options are a thing. Renteria has done him no favors since the beginning of last season, to say the least. If Giolito was still the guy that was the top pitching prospect in the game and #3 in baseball in December 2016, he wouldn't have been available for Adam Eaton. They're not quite ready to turn the corner toward winning yet so the Sox can afford to fix Giolito. It seems like they're almost there. Patience, young Padowan. I'm still somewhat neutral to cautiously optimistic about the Sox.
  14. No. I was making a point. I can pile on ridiculously too. I was trying to prove how ridiculous some posters are about Giolito.
  15. Does Renteria hate Giolito??? I have to ask this question. Is he trying to ruin his career?
  16. Me too. Renteria is singlehandedly responsible for Giolito losing money in his 1st year of arbitration.
