I want to say Argentina but it appears to be pretty wide open.

Edwin Encarnacion must be on some powerful stuff.

USA cuts Landon Donovan from World Cup team
zenryan replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 25, 2014 -> 11:43 PM) And Donovan scores 3 goals today in an MLS game. lol, typical Donovan. The guy just knows how to rise to the moment. There isnt a guy that plays for the US that I'd choose over Donovan if I needed one shot, one pass, one free kick or just someone to make a play. Jurgen better hope his team waxes Azerbaijan Tuesday night now. -

I guess LD shouldve been born in Germany... Jurgen better win atleast a game or it may be hot seat time for him after some of these selections. But I'm guessing he's been assured 2018 with some of these picks of unproven players. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2014 -> 06:33 PM) Both of those situations are classless actually. It's called sportsmanship. People are just looking for a reason for faux outrage in this Twitter world we live in. Just like last night people claiming someone threw a banana on the ice. Well I'm sure something will happen over the weekend that will bring out more manufactured outrage. And that will be replaced by something else by middle of next week.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2014 -> 11:51 AM) Their entire board (almost) is all about how the handshake line is dumb (they loved it against Van) and how the Bruins are so competitive its ok to fight. Oh and the Habs are whiney little babies. This handshake thing last night is being overblown. Lucic hates a few players on Montreal, so he's suppose to play nice now because they lost? No different than what happened between Doan and some of the Coyotes and Dustin Brown a couple years ago. I wonder how many calls to the Montreal police would've been made about Lucic if the Canadiens would've lost last night.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 14, 2014 -> 10:00 PM) Was that a banana on the ice? If it was then all of twitter missed it minus about 10 people. Seems like Dan Bernstein is the one pushing hard for it to be a banana. Maybe it was which would be sad, maybe it was a yellow rally towel they give out that was tied in a knot.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 14, 2014 -> 09:29 PM) Carey Price is gonna earn his paycheck these last 11 minutes, you know the Bruins are gonna get at it Montreal sold their souls to the devil apparently. Also helps to have the refs/league in your back pocket. 5 power plays for Montreal, all pretty weak calls. 15 or so post jobs helps too. Every weird bounce of the puck went Montreal's way minus the Bergeron goal in game 2. The second and third Montreal goals tonight was lucky bounces. I'm not even mad.

If I was Doc, I'd be carrying on the same way. Everyone is going to talk about the possible bad calls, not the Clippers blowing a huge lead with 3 minutes to go.

I always enjoy reading an article ripping Todd McShay ProFootballTalk

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 11, 2014 -> 12:08 PM) Oh I know he fell because of that, but has a combine alone ever dropped a projected 2nd/3rd with a number of accolades to fall completely out of the draft? (That's actually a legitimate question, not just saying it for effect) he was never going to be a second round pick. he probably wasnt going to be a third round pick either. this draft was loaded. A team isnt going to waste a 2/3 rd pick on a small, slow, and weak player who is projected to be a "specialist".

QUOTE (The Critic @ May 11, 2014 -> 12:14 AM) In the LA series, it ain't a series til the home team wins a game. lol last year was what channel is NBCSN. This year its this overrated playoff saying.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 10, 2014 -> 11:11 PM) Real talk here. Can Sam actually play football? I don't give a s*** that he's gay. Good for him. Can he play? Or is this another spectacle? probably going to be seldom used or placed on the practice squad. Sam was never going to be a 2nd round pick, him being a 3rd rounder was probably a major reach too.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 10, 2014 -> 05:31 PM) As the resident Miami fan, what are your thoughts on O'Donnell? he averaged 47 yards per punt last year so that really speaks for itself. he's a punter so you really never know but if you use a draft pick on him then he better make the team or it looks bad.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 10, 2014 -> 05:07 PM) The punter the Bears drafted bench pressed more reps than Clowney. nfl.com scouting review

QUOTE (scs787 @ May 10, 2014 -> 05:00 PM) This draft is stacked though, I can certainly see a lot of these 5-7 round guys sticking. then there wont be many roster spots available next season in the NFL. Yet talking heads and fans will be hyping up 5-7th rounders next season.
-
It is funny reading grades and people analyzing 5-7th round picks. Sure, a small percentage make an impact but a vast majority will be cut or replaced by another 6th round pick within a year or two. Tom Brady going in the 6th round was the worst thing to happen to the draft. Gives people hope of finding that late round gem.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 10, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) Love the Fales pick mostly because he's the perfect type of QB for Trestman. I like the idea of a developmental QB, even if they rarely pan out. When Emery made those comments about not taking one, I had been hoping he was bluffing. Not sure about taking a punter, but whatever. At least this O'Donnell guy looks the part. 6'4" 220, 4.6 40 with 23 reps on the bench. Impressive for a punter. I cannot believe Ahmad Dixon, Marcus Roberson, and Tiny Richardson are still on the board. Impressive for a punter? There are a lot of 6'4/220 guys in the draft who'd like those numbers.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 9, 2014 -> 12:44 AM) The Seguin that scored 37 goals last season? This isnt fantasy sports. Seguin needed to be moved for the betterment of both parties and so far its looking like a good trade for both teams.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 8, 2014 -> 11:07 PM) 23-year old in his first career playoff game scores an OT goal to win 1-0 at the Bell Centre. Hate to see the Bruins win, but that's a hell of a story. That arena is #1 on my list of hockey venues I would love to visit for a road game. another piece of that Seguin trade.
-
Strike 1 for Lovie. Should've been Manziel. Nothing against Evans b/c I would've been pleased with that selection under difference circumstances but my gosh. Thank goodness for the Bruins tonight.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 4, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) If you think it's only the Sox with an attendance problem, turn on ESPN. Half full Wrigley for a Sunday night Cubs Cards. Baseball is dead in Chicago. maybe its been said on here already but @EmptySeatsPics on twitter is proof its a problem for just about every MLB team. The Yankees announced something like 40k+ tickets sold today but I would bet they had 25k in the seats.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 4, 2014 -> 03:53 PM) Or not. What the hell was that Lowry Why not give credit where its due? Nets played good defense on that play.
