well, well, looks like Kluwe's lawyer knew there was no agreement that the report would be made public. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...report-private/ -
played for the first time since Jan 2013 last weekend and shot a 46 on the front 9. then the storms came rolling in and washed the back 9 away which was a good thing because i opened up 2 huge blisters on one of my hands. had to buy a glove for my next outing. could've taken off about 3 strokes if i could putt worth a damn.

I just dont like managers coming up to stall while a bench coach is on the phone with someone to see if its worth challenging. If you come out of the dugout then it should be an automatic challenge.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) Have you found any good Rays' fan sites? no but havent looked because the Miami Hurricanes, big soccer and this board is all I really need when it comes to forums. I'll check out a Rays and Bucs blog for that info. I really just keep to the Sports Pub sub-forum here because this site has a lot of smart and good posters. For a site that is geared to the Sox, it does have a good make up of fans of other sports which creates good conversation.

I'm not ready to buy it yet either, especially since that article just dismisses the 2002 Brazil team because of their group. That team was stacked and they are still the only team to go 7-0-0. We might be seeing the start of another Spain type run here with Germany. But let's revisit this talk about best team ever if they win Euros 2016.

Nate Silve--Germany best team ever?

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) They were awful against algeria name a team that didnt have one sluggish match? For 7 matches, they were the most consistent.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) I hope when you hate on AJP you are hating on a player who gave you a WS title. Without him, the White Sox do not win it all for the only time in your lifetime. Unless baseball changes its economic system dramatically, the Sox won't be winning any more in your lifetime. Maybe one if everything falls perfectly into place one magical year to come. I'm not going to blindly love some guy because he won the white sox a WS. I'm 32 years old, I dont need to worship athletes like some 8 year old fanboy. plus I'm a Rays fan now so it wont bother me if the WS dont win again in my lifetime. If they do then that's great because there are some cool people here I'd be happy for their excitement.

Guess Messi got it for lifetime achievement.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) One day less of rest and coming after a 120 mins and PKs for Argentina, not good. They cant use that as an excuse, especially since they needed 120 minutes in 3 of their 4 knockout games. Best team won, glad it wasnt settled by kicks.

Maybe I've watched too much hockey but that shoulder to the jaw looked deliberate to me.

Sox willing to deal Beckham in "right deal now"

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) I think he was joking. He has said all along that Gray, Chavez, Kazmir and the two Cubs wouldn't be expected to make all of their starts in the 2nd half, especially the first 3 guys because of workload concerns. Zobrist isn't going anywhere, from everything I've read and heard. Price is the one they have to part with... SF is also looking for a 2B, supposedly. DeAza could be a good fit there as well, as they look to shake up their team and find any way to get some more offense out of players not named Sandoval, Posey, Morse and Pence. I know this was a few days ago but that isnt the talk around Tampa. If the Rays feel they are sellers and someone wants to take Zobrist then he'll be gone real fast. Zobrist is owed $7M next season and the Rays wouldnt mind freeing up that space. -
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 06:22 PM) Seriously, did you feel this way when back then when the brawl happened? Did you hate AJ then too? yeah. never liked the guy. he's always been a douche.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 04:11 PM) And also resulting in major suspensions during a pennant race. You have to think a little bit before you react. I loved the way he took Barrett's best shot right in the jaw, barely fliinched and looked at him like " WTF is your problem?" AJ already won the battle. Retaliating resulting in major suspensions and or injuries would have been losing the war. nice selective memory. barely flinched? he got punched and stumbled or ran away. big man that AJP is, letting Scott Podsednik fight his battle with Barrett.
-
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 03:40 PM) No, a puss move would be AJ fighting back causing a bench clearing brawl that could get his teammates injured. you mean there WASNT a bench clearing brawl? lol

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) Lebron only signing for 2 years he's going to get paid after the lockout in two seasons.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 01:24 PM) That reminds me of the time AJ knocked Barrett on his ass with a clean hit as Barrett was trying to block the plate, then Barrett sucker punched AJ with his best shot to the jaw and it didn't even phase AJ. The funny thing was AJ didn't even retaliate but was suspended by MLB! AJ came out looking great on that one while Barrett and MLB looked like clowns. getting suckered punched and not doing anything about it besides walking off the field while your teammates fight your battle is looking great? That was a puss move but not surprising coming from a guy who has been that way his entire life.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:35 PM) MLS Stars don't make more then Hockey players. I know nothing of the MLS contract although I swore ESPN just extended their agreement with them. Each team has like an exception where they can pay a big time salary though, above what the norm was. Beckham got huge money when he was playing with the Galaxy (like more then NBA top money). This is off the top of my head so someone probably should fact check me cause my memory sometimes sucks. MLS has a 3.1M salary cap for roster spots of 1-20. League minimum for those players are 48k. You can have up to 30 players signed but 21-30 doesnt count towards cap. They make a minimum of 36k and must be under 25 years of age. So basically developmental contracts. Each team gets 3 designated players that they can sign. Those players count as 387k towards the cap but the team can sign them for whatever amount they want and are responsible for paying that salary. MLS salary cap rules that's how I comprehended it.

How many people can be named to this list because you really cant argue against the ones that did make it. Plus as great as Howard and Ochoa(sp?) played, in the end neither got past the round of 16. Thanks Wondo..

QUOTE (Tex @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:47 PM) Hire AJ to walk out to the mound in the 9th inning and beat the crap out of the next closer who blows a save. Wave to the fans who are offering a standing O and retire. actually AJ would walk out, get punched in the face and then run off the field waving to the fans and act as if he just won some fight.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 03:58 PM) Trade anybody for him and/or take on any portion of his salary beyond the league minimum? Absolutely not. Sign him for league minimum after he clears waivers? No good reason not to. He can't be worse than Flowers and he'll sell some tickets. lol this is why you shouldnt be a Grade A A-hole. If he was a nice guy, then I bet he'd stay in the game a couple of years longer than he really should talent wise but why would a team put up with him when every MLB team has a catcher of AJ's talent level in AAA or as their current backup?
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) Then they can accept not making the playoffs for 3 straight years then. its the smart decision though by the Yankees. What is the best case scenario, they squeak into the playoffs with about 84 wins and gets smoked by the A's or Tigers in 4 games? NY is an old team that isnt built to win much more in the next few years and they have a crap farm system. Why would they give up some of their few good prospects for a pitcher like Danks who is owed that much money? If

QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) I have actually been thinking of this for a while. My son is 2 1/2 and I am pretty sure he is right handed.. but if I have him throw left handed would he be able to become good at throwing left handed or is that a bad idea and just have him throw with the hand that he naturally wants to throw with. I understand if you do something long enough you can become good at it, what I don't know is how that relates to handedness. Is there any data out there about this? my uncle was a natural right hander. his dad forced him to be left handed and he ended up playing 3 full seasons and parts of 2 others in the majors. Does everything with his right hand except when it comes to throwing a baseball. I'm pretty sure my uncle hates his dad though. Probably should just let your son play naturally and not live through him.
