QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) Maybe I should sign up for the info material and report back? Would that be a good idea just so we can all learn about it? wasn't aware that NAMBLA had a PAC.

My bank just did a "corporate restructing" this week.. two guys got the axe that had worked for the bank for over 10 years. I tried to volunteer for a severence package, but it was a no go... sorry to hear that Kyyle.

Everytime one of these happens, I just get reminded of Elisabeth Smart. I still shudder at that tragedy. I'm so happy when the girl/boy is returned home safely, but it breaks my heart to know that there's still damage done psychologically. Will these kids ever have a normalcy in their life? I can't imagine the intimacy issues that it would create. :pray

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) I was called once to testify against a home health agency that I worked for years ago that was scamming medicare. I was there for a few hours, they called me, asked about 20 questions, then I was done. The questions took about a half hour. Pretty boring. I'm anticipating something like that. It'll be weird to see this kid. He's 23, drug problems, and a lot of people knew him because he graduated in the area. It'll be nice to not have to go to work most of the day. -
It could be a coincidence, but the PAC-10 seems to be the strongest football conference in the nation....

Got sopeanaed over the weekend. I get to go to a preliminary hearing for the guy who robbed our bank. I have only two requests: 1) Defendant admits he's a dumbass 2) Defendant admits I could have kicked his ass if it weren't for the gun and bank policies telling me not to interact with the Robber. He could walk free for all I care. Just so those things meet. That being said...this dumb ass, who I could have destroyed, is going to jail for a LONG time. 4 counts of assualt, 4 counts of robbery, 4 counts of etc. anyone go to one of these? I get paid by the bank to go, and I'm hoping I'm bored for 4-5 hours (so I don't have to go back to work )

WHY!?!?! WHY?!?!?!!? Why would you stop at a legal red light and let me hit you doing 80?!?!?!

man, it was so good. I can't wait to see the next one. I knew a little about this one going into it. I won't spoil anything. I hope this inspires people to go out and rent it. A+ film. Damn I miss decent oscar worthy movies.

I've never seen any of them (I know, gasp!)... in the middle of Part I. wow. timeless. guinea. what does everyone think about it? It's weird to see scenes that I've heard about, and Don C. is weird to watch with so many parodies out there. A+ so far.

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) No, never used it. Yet. what do you mean by "yet?" "what would you think if I said, 'I haven't seen Evil Dead 2, yet.'"

Wasn't this the plot of "The First 20 million"??????

I have a problem with the movie Shark Tale. I think it's message is subversive. "I can't stand living a lie" "why won't you accept me for who I am". These things are ok on one level, but manipulative on another. Not everyone believes these things are universal. A shark that just doesn't fit in with other sharks, so he dresses up like a dolphin. I know "it's just a cartoon", but that's why I have a problem with it. We put adult messages in cartoons and our kids are just left with confusion. From working at blockbuster and seeing parents rent these "cartoons" for young children makes me very upset. anyway, just my 2 cents.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Mine was quick and (oh so Cliche') was on Valentines Day. I worked at a Flower Shoppe, and my co-worker also made jewelry as a side hobby. I ordered all of the pieces to the ring(stone, clasp, ring) and he put it together for me for about 1/4 of the cost of getting one at a store. He finished putting the ring together about 4 hours before I was set to propose. Anyhow, i got off of work, and got one of her favorite flowers( a yellow rose, she doesnt like red roses) and tied the ring to the bottom of it with a long strand of ribbon, and shoved the ring up my sleeve. I went home and she was getting ready to go to work, and I walked up to her and said "Happy Valentines day" and gave her the rose, she smiled and took it from me and the ring pulled out of my sleeve and just hung there for a while. She looked at it and said "what is that?", I dropped to my knee and proposed, in the bathroom of our s***ty rental house. Sure, it wasnt the eiffel tower in Paris, or at any of the various beautiful state parks in Southern Illinois, or even the first place we met(the pizza resteraunt we both worked at), but the sheer surprise on her face was worth it. She honestly had no idea what I was up to. And she was even happier with her ring, which was a large chip of her birthstone(Yellow Topaz) set next to a row of inset diamonds. Originality always hits big with spouses, unless they are uber-superficial. Thanks kyyle. That was great. I give it a 10 for originality.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) I was engaged twice. Do you want to hear about the one that didn't take or the one that did? which was a better decision?
