  1. man I feel old... Greasy, where the hell have I been that you have 11k posts?? good to see you around though.
  2. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) Fiddy should stick to making mediocre rap songs. And let's say he's right -- wouldn't the hurricane and all it entailed be "flooding" of the area? Cuz if so, it would be something God said he wouldn't purposefully do anymore after the whole Ark deal, rainbow covenant, etc. So, stop the f***ing presses -- PA and I agree for once that it wasn't an act of God. When the frogs start falling, maybe then our opinions might diverge....
  3. What was God trying to get across by sending the hurricane? If it was to "destroy hethens"... he missed. God doesn't miss.
  4. QUOTE(Rally Crede @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Someone want to tell the dimwit that I don't need his seal of approval? If you are feeling old timers, I can't help. Some causes are lost. hehe, dimwit....
  5. This thread reminds me of that time I was hanging out with my navy buddies at a bar and we burst into "You've lost that loving feeling"....
  6. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) You could do so much better....... anyone that makes me look moderate is my hero.

    QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Has anyone seen the new "deal" some gas stations are offering? It's like 2 cents cheaper if you pay with cash rather than credit card... That's actually an old procedure that I've seen making a come back. Visa/Mastercard transactions cost a vendor between 1-2% of all transactions in a day. It makes sense financially, but not practically speaking.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:59 AM) ^ Bullet with Butterfly Wings RAWK!
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) From the Ripley's Believe it or Not file . . . PA was one of the funniest guys around here as voted by soxtalk members. That's when he was in Texas. Penn seems to have taken his humor sometimes. I'm sometimes known as Texsox and Southsider2k5's love child....
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) I dont' know about funny...but right now I'm confused as all Hell. 50 cents' song is called "Window Shopper" from the soundtrack for the movie of "Get Rich or Die Trying". I hate him.

    with only 50 (fiddy, y'all) cents, I guess you're destined for a life of window shopping. God, rappers' lives are so poignant and real....

  16. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) You better be kneeling on rice--the Rally Crede only accepts the most sincere and serious of penitents. And Visa/Mastercard...

    I went to see Switchfoot and Eisley with Miss PA last night. What a great time. I'd seen them (SF) back in '00 I think, and they've gotten so much better over time. They're quite good, I recommend their live show to anyone.
  18. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) LOL. And isn't ClearChannel owned by one of Bush's bestest christian buddies? Because all the entertainment they push is supremely pure and wholesome. I have yet to find the phrase "do as I say, not as I do" in the bible, could someone tell me where I would find it? I laugh at most people who try to say they're christians and continue to bank a million bucks a year. I also laugh at celebrities who yell and scream at Bush's political views, yet live in their nice million dollar homes as if they're somehow justified those lifestyles. I say woe to them.
  19. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) And your distorted representation of atheists -- "Me thinks the idea that atheism, which claims there are no Gods except money and power"-- is typical christian hypocrisy. I think the term "typical christian hypocrisy" is funny. First of all, it totally doesn't fit in the context of what I said, and the foundation of my belief is the admission of my sinful nature, i.e. I'm a screw up. I find it difficult to be a hypocrite when I'm the first in line saying I mess up with life every day. I'm not even sure what the point of this thread was anymore, except that I agree with Jim's concept the generally is a minority of individuals hell bent on enforcing their ideas on the rest of society in every geo-social or religious group. Laying blame on Christianity for the crusades or hitlers actions is as laughable as those who hate muslims for Bin Laden's. The point however, was that over time Christians seem to apologize for their ancestors' wrong doing, whilst other groups aren't required to follow suit. fundementalist christians, fundementalist muslims, fundementalist gay rights groups, fundementalist seal clubbers....none of them have a place in society.
  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) It's an erroneous statement to say that the Muslim world remains silent in the face of Islamist extremist violence. The majority of Indonesian Muslims are still moderates despite the recent influx of fundamentalists. The majority of Muslims globally are moderates who have been vocal in their outrage over the hijacking of their peaceful religion by extremists. All you fundamentalists scare me, regardless of which side you're on or what particular form of myopia your distorted representation of God suffers from. (That last sentence would have been respectfully omitted, of course, had you shown any similar capacity for restraint). It's an erroneous and a dumb ass statement to say that Hitler "batted clean-up" for Christians. please. Fudementalists want things to be the way they used to be with no regard to the culture around them, that's not me in the slightest. While I desire to return to a community/familial based society that puts emphasis on the greater good rather than the individual, I take into consideration the people around me and "their story" because the individual is much more important in recent decades. Your distorted representation of Christians make all us suffer.
  21. Wow, that's so sad. But he's better off than we are. prayers for his family and friends.

    QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) You need to see 1 to understand 2. For those that have seen it could you please be respectful to those that haven't and want to and not post spoilers just yet? TIA. I know what happens in Saw 1, but didn't feel like seeing it. Same with this one. I just want to know, to know, but I respect not spoiling in this thread. PM would work. Thanks
  23. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) It's just a good thing the Christians had Hitler batting clean-up for them, or else some day the Islamist extremists might some day catch up to them in the body count contest. The difference being that every major Christian organization, sect, denomination speaks out vehemently against Hitler's actions, while the muslim world continues to be silent. For a smart guy, Jim, you're a **** ***. This post has been edited by the Soxtalk staff to remove objectionable material. 24. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) Don't make me dig up the research I did when 2K5 got an anti-Muslim e-mail that shows that radical Christians can do the same, if not worse, crazy s*** in the past decades and into the current era. Organized fundamentalist religions -- the cause of the world's problems. You're never going to turn on a TV and hear the anchor say "Today the atheists suffered heavy shelling and large amounts of casualties from the agnostic forces in the north." No, atheists and agnostics are much more sneakier. They'll invent television networks like MTV and tell our children they have to like certain things and dress certain ways in order to be "cool." They'll make us feel bad for having convictions against things like abortion and homosexuality, but then treat us with similar disdain. And the columbine massacre, compliments of atheists, was portrayed by the media as a failure of the movie and video game industry to protect children from their products and not parents protecting their kids from those industry's products. Me thinks the idea that atheism, which claims there are no Gods except money and power, seems to to be quite organized itself in the form of popular culture. We just call it different things and pass blame eslewhere as to protect the organization.

    I haven't seen either, but I had a dream last night that I was in a "saw" situation. Weird and creepy. BTW, I don't feel like watching these movies, but can I get a brief synopsis of the second movie? I want to know spoilers.
