Coopersburg Sports I went on a tour of their facility yesterday and got a free Sox mini bat key chain. Who knew such a cool place was so close? They're one of the largest manufacturers of mini bats (multiple sizes) and graphic designed full sized bats. I got to see how they "print" the design on the bats before they're laquered (sp?). Their patent is basically a color inkjet printer that's been modified to print on the circumfrence of the bat. Amazing stuff. clearly these aren't among their big sellers...

Minute Maid was great, because I saw the sox play there a couple years ago. It was an exhibition game so the place was half filled. We ended up walking around sitting in all sorts of seats. I loved when they opened up the roof. Overall, it was my favorite park to be at. Dodger Stadium was second because we had great seats and the view at night is great. The Vet was the worst because it was the Vet. Arlington was lame because I met southsider there.

I've been a Spurs fan as long as I've been a sox fan...and I couldn't be happier right now. -

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) Happy Birthday, you Crazy Christian! seriously that's my favorite slur hehe, my friends in high school used to call me and my other christian friend "crazy". good times! San Antonio Spurs, Chicago White Sox...both doing well... couldn't ask for much more! I had to work this morning, but tomorrow's a day off and Yeungling Lager's will be flowing but not too much. (do not get drunk on too much wine. titus 2:forget the verse) Thanks for the well wishing.

Dear Chicago, You'll never guess. You know the girl you said I'd meet someday? Well, I've got something to confess. She picked me up on Friday. Asked me if she reminded me of you. I just laughed and lit a cigarette, Said "that's impossible to do." My life's gotten simple since. And it fluctuates so much. Happy and sad and back again. I'm not crying out to much. Think about you all the time. It's strange and hard to deal. Think about you lying there. And those blankets lie so still. Nothing breathes here in the cold. Nothing moves or even smiles. I've been thinking some of suicide. But there's bars out here for miles. Sorry about the every kiss. Every kiss you wasted (bad / back) I think the thing you said was true, I'm going to die alone and sad. The wind's feeling real these days. Yeah, baby, it hurt's me some. Never thought I'd feel so blue. New York City, you're almost gone. I think that I've fallen out of love, I think I've fallen out of love . . . with you.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 2, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) My link on page 2 is to my list of the site. http://www.dvdaficionado.com/index.html http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=zombiezilla is my list...again. I do have a bunch of "borrowed" DVD's, but I also don't have any of my wifes, or many of my kids, in my list there. You can add about another 100 for their stuff. Netflix and such are a MUST have for the ones that are OOP, or have been ones I would like to have, but have not NEEDED for the collection, stuff like Riddick. you've got some weird ass titles in there.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 3, 2005 -> 05:54 AM) I think the incestual marriage has been ruled out due to the fact of increase in deformities and other such things that could cause "freak show" children...where as gay marriage I am fairly certain one wouldn't have to concern much with that.... Ok, but we're living in a society that condones trans-sexual operation, then why not an operation that renders the brother and sister sterile? And then they have the option to adopt, like gay couples have.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ May 2, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) But brothers and sisters marrying would be incest.. that's a whole nother ( but if their relationship is based upon love, why would you want to put a limitation on their rights? why would a man and a man or a woman and a woman have greater access to marriage rights than a woman and a man who were brother and sister? If we legalize non-heterosexual marriages on the basis of inequal treatment and rights, then anyone seeking a marriage license should have equal access to those same rights despite their relationship to the souse-to-be. If we are telling the courts to ignore gender, like we told courts that race has no bearing in marriage, then also relationship cannot be taken in account. Therefore, brothers and sister, mothers and son, etc should all be granted the same marriage rights as anyone else. It's your logic not mine. Cousins getting married = homosexuals getting married
-
QUOTE(TheDybber @ May 2, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) Why would you say that? You're comparing apples and oranges. Now, if we were talking about gay cousins that want to marry...then Jerry Springer will have a show!!!! Cousins, brothers and sisters for that matter, have every right to marry if the definition of marriage is altered from "man and woman". It's simple logic.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 1, 2005 -> 08:21 AM) I didn't know there were people like this in PA. Learn something new everyday... People from Pennsylvania think they're so cosmopolitan, but I like to remind them everytime I hear a Texas joke that the keystone state is the gap-toothed older brother of Texas. (and indiana is our cousin) As for the marriage, If you favor gay rights for marriages then you must stand side by side to this same kind of behavior.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) I gotta disagree. I don't get a chance to listen to the DP show too often because I am at school but I isten to Mike and Mike EVERY morning before school. I like their opinions and besides, they're just opinions. Usually Greeny ends up disagreeing with Golic....funny stuff. I also like how they always have out-side opinions like Vitale, Gammons, Phillips, Smith, and others. I don't think you get the point then. If you have a chance to listen to multiple shows in a day, especially on the openning monologues, it becomes a horribly redundant exercise in group think. Gammons, Vitale, and Steven A Smith are three of the biggest ESPN line toters.

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) You're missing my point completely and once again putting words in my mout, which you're quite good at when you come off as a pretentious asshole. I could easily refute the majority of what you said/implied, and I stated quite clearly that the aforementioned genres were only a sampling of my musical tastes. I could rattle off numerous German, American, etc. bands that I enjoy vehemently (Magyar Posse would be Finnish, despite the name), but how is my opinion less valid than yours? Of course music is influenced by the past, but there's a fairly obvious line between merely regurgitating past trends and building off of them. I find Wes Burdine to be merely mimicing what indie rock has done for years, and that's what I want to get at in saying that indie rock has become too hemoginized. There's nothing really new to it, and it's been stuck in neutral for years now. I don't understand why you're so apprehensive to my opinion when I'm not rummaging through the indie scrapheap of the mid to late 90s to find seemingly inconsequencial bands that have brought nothing new to the table. I merely stated an opnion which you never bothered to try and refute and instead took swipes at my age, which shows a definite lack of maturity on your side when you can't handle a 19 year old saying that something you may like really isn't all that special. I've heard numerous times that "insert genre here isn't anything new" and there's a lot of validity in those claims, especially when it comes to post-rock. But I tend not to blindly lash out and instead attack personal character. People have differences, and if you're not ready to accept that, I feel sorry for you than you do to me. You refer to me as some sort of omniscient elitist and then you spout off some bulls*** about how you know where I'm from, etc. Grow up, you've already shown how ignorant and protective you are, so I once again await your short paragraphs that hold no talking points whatsoever and instead demean people who criticize something minute. This conversation has nothing to do with my taste in music. I offered up a song that I thought was pretty great considering what I hear on the radio, when I even bother to listen to it. You came at me with the "short paragraphs" and assinine elitist attitude. If I made any mistake it was labeling Burdine as "indie music." If you're uncomfortable with that label, which has lost it's mystique over the years (a point to which we can agree some), then fine, the song "prospects" is a pop-rock anthem. Yet, Age is quite appropriate when discussing music. I don't pretend to know what it was like living in the time of "Revolver" or "Pet Sounds," so please don't pretend like you're some informed "indie-rock" listener. You were friggin' 8 when REM released "Monster." give me a break you're 19. end of discussion.

I'm having some success with the expander. I would say I have 5 out of 10 knowledge on computers and I understand what to do with the equipment I have. believe it or not, the vertical reception is not the problem, it's the horizontal. Going through the floor seems to be easier than going around corners.

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) Did you just reference High Fidelity? I'm eager to hear the Raveonettes' new album. I liked the first full length but it didn't age well on me. If you're looking for something new and downtempo, check out A Song About A Girls by Zita Swoon. Love that Belgian art rock. The smart indie kids aren't about German music anymore. They're all about Sigur Ros, well at least til they "sold out" or something and LOVE Ben Folds even though he's way too popular for them. kraftwerk, falco...hasselhoff? yes and I totally agree with your assessment.

I see what you mean, I guess I just enjoy guys like Glen Beck and Michael Savage because they talk about what they want to talk about and don't just tow the party line. I feel like Colin Cowherd is one of the only guys that does that at ESPN...mind you I don't always agree with his opinion
