    I didn't see the "the beer snob" FlasoxxJim and I would be sitting next to each other arguing about the taste, bouquet, and coloration of every alcoholic drink in the place. (for PA see also: The asshole, The know-it-all, and The Wanna-Be Minister" Oh, and Stef would be "The Bar Fly" kidding
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) If Terri was a dog, they'd give her an injection. If you starved a dog to death, you'd be arrected and prosecuted for cruelty to animals. They shoot horses, don't they? Humane. What the hell is humane? What is our criteria for being humane? Is Dr. Korvokian a criminal or an angel of mercy? I don't pretend to know the answers as to what is right and what is wrong in a situation like this. This is the definition of a "grey area". There is no pretense of black and white in this case. I also don't know what else to say. I have prayed, that if it's God's will, that she has a full recovery so that she can speak for herself. So that Terri can tell us what it was like to lay there and know, if she knew, that her life was the focus of the nation. So she could tell if Michael had her best interests at heart, or his own. I don't know and I cannot understand anyone who proclaims to know. When children are born with downs syndrome, we don't starve them to death right? We try our best to see life flourished. So everything changes when we're older? If this is true, then what is the problem with the death penalty? The state is saying that terri's wishes are to die rather than face a life "stuck" in a vegitative state. Why should it shock anyone that there are people who wish for inmates to die after committing and found guilty for henous crimes? It's society's wish that those people die rather than face a life "stuck" in a socio-pathic state. I'm not trying to argue either way. I would just say that Life is life. Death is death. Do we kill some because of "choice" or "punishment" or protect "innocence" and try to heal the socially impared?
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) http://wbal.com/stories/anmviewer.asp?a=29486 "Pennsylvania prosecutors are deciding whether to bring capital murder charges against a 70-year-old woman who allegedly killed her neighbor with a hammer. Kathy MacClellan is accused of hitting the 84-year-old 37 times with the claw end of the tool." Oy Vey Guess you're never too old to be f***ING CRAZY... go PA!
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) I didn't vote either PA.. and it's not because I don't have an opinion on it.. it's because I don't feel it was my place to vote on ending or continuing someone's life. I understand...and this may shock many of you, but legally speaking, I think what's going down is what should be going down. The husband is the undisputed guardian and he has the sole right to say what happens, just as miss pa will one day have the same right. However, morally speaking, I think there's so much more to the story including a pretty clear picture that her "husband" is the love child of hitler and satan. I listened to the reading of the affidavid (spell check please) of one of the nurses that took care of Terri... pretty amazing for a woman that's supposedly in a persistent vegetative state. I have no heart for the lost anymore, I feel sorry for those who want to make this a political battle...both sides. I'm sad that one side hates babies, the other hates inmates....one side hates religion....the other fears acceptance....and we all hate trying to find the root of all these problems and actually doing something to fix them. see you in another 4 weeks
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) PA, I was wondering when you would weigh in. Good to hear from you. Peace. I know we had a challenge, but personally, I am finding no humor here today. I've been findind real life much more uplifting lately... I have a guys biblestudy every wednesday night. (so solid). and yeah, I remember our challenge, but you're right... what's funny about encouraging the killing of babies, retards and anyone who professes a faith in God?
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Count again, I didn't vote. when you're dying of AIDS, I'll remember to pull the plug....
  8. I'll refrain from saying what I want to really say, but if I'm reading the poll numbers correctly, there are 30 really f***ed up people on this board...
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) Damn, that was you!! What a small world. You look a lot different than I imagined. Sorry about the scare and all. Don't worry the gun wasn't loaded, that would scare me That die packet was very uncool. I had to throw away the "My Governor is a Jewish Cowboy" t-shirt tht Kinky sent me. Alex, shall we read Proverbs 28:1-28 and pray for the douche bag that scared the crap out of you? I'm doing really well guys... I have definitely felt the prayers of many these last few days. I'm either in massive denial or the Lord has really been a rock in my time of need. Honestly, the whole event was so quick and it couldn't have gone any better and without less physical derress to me. I am just thankful in a way that it happened to me rather than any of the women I work with or some other teller at another bank. by the way... the FBI have yet to release this picture, but they recovered this picture from Texsox's residence.
  10. the quick news blurb from this morning...
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) Unfortunately, I've had a gun pulled on me before and you find out a LOT about yourself in those few seconds, don't you? yeah, it's true. I feel really good about that. I prayed a lot, and against my desire to kill this kid, I did what I was supposed to do, which was to give him what he asked for and don't do anything that would endanger my co-workers. I was standing less than a foot away from him...I could have squashed him.
  12. : Have a great one Frank!! Glad to see you sticking with us! and a very happy retro-Fyou for good measure
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) Well it depends, where would he shoot him? you ass I stayed at Miss Pa's house last night and got some sleep. The FBI didn't need to talk to us for too long last night because they had our written statements. (I'll be talking to them again in a couple hours) Believe it or not the 3 other people I was working with barely saw the guy because two of them hit the ground as soon as he started yelling and the third ducked into a corner without even being seen. So there I was....me and this little 5'5" douche bag white kid...(I'm not what you would call a small person...6'3" 250 ) I really appreciate your thoughts and like I said, this place knows when to gather around each other and like the crazy "aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and grandparents (Flasoxxjim)" you are, this community, albeit electronic, is one that I respect and care about. The scariest part about all of this is that he had on this paintball helmet...and I just had thoughts of a guy coming around the corner with one on and I'll just let loose on him. (with karate chops and my totally sweet nunchucks....) btw, I'm still very pro-NRA... Had to throw that in there;) Thanks everyone, glad I'm around to see the sox take it to the house this year!!!

    Serious Note

    Hey guys, I know that I'm a controversial poster here at soxtalk, but I respect this community a lot, regardless of beliefs, and love when we pull together for each other. That being said, I just wanted to let you know that the bank I work at got robbed tonight, and I had all the money from my drawer stolen by a guy pointing a gun at me. It just happened hours ago and as a part of my coping process, I knew that having your thoughts and prayers on my side, I'll be that much better. I won't get into specifics, but it was a crazy experience....and I thought my accident this summer was scarey. One thing that I'm joyful to look back on, was that my first thoughts during the robbery were on God and asking for his protection over the 4 of us employees involved. No one was hurt and money can be replaced. I just want to thank you in advance for your kind words and prayers. Sincerely, Alex
  15. for the record, I'm not looking to buy an Element. I was just looking at hondas, nissans, and mazdas because I was bored. I found that car for that price and I was very interested by it.
  16. QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) Yeah, but it's called "Lonestar" so it sells! one word....three syllables
  17. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Are you interested in a Jewish Cowboy?? My name is Bucky Goldstein... I'm sorry, but that position has already been filled Kinky's running for governor of Texas as well. Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys
  18. QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) The outcome was you missed out on a $2000 car! I'm pretty sure that's not the case.
  19. The ad had been taken down I wonder what the outcome was?
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) BURN!!! *buzzer* I'm sorry the correct answer is "oh snap!"
  21. QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) i know im pointing out that whoever made those flashcards sucks now that's funny
  22. QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) thats straight dissed, not cold dissed read the flash card, dunny.
  23. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) So, are you going to purchase? I have no idea. Even if I was completely in the legal standing, I don't think I have the cold heart to do something like that to another person. I'm gonna call the dealership tomorrow, just to see if anything is wrong with the car without mentioning the price. I'll let you know.
  24. if any of our senior citizen posters need help understanding the younger generation.... the bar represents when we cold dissed our stockholders..... Slang Flash Cards
  25. just looked it up again.... same price. it's actually on the NADA website. that's what made me scratch my head. I can't seem to find any disclaimers, either.
