  2. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) Hey! I thought we weren't supposed to talk about Fight Club!?! POST OF THE YEAR!
  3. I guess the point didn't come across well... A twin's fan, who has nothing else to live for, called a baseball player, who the twin's fan doesn't know anything about, a coward. He didn't say, "Hey Rowand...I did your mom last night" or something that could easily be rolled off, he called rowand a coward. It's hilariously ridiculous. It's funny because it's a stupid and random thing to say. It's funny because it seemed to have worked. It's funny that silly sox fans don't see how innoucous the comment was supposed to be. On a personal note, I saw the sox play the phillies a couple years back at the vet and I tried heckling Doug Glanville. He just looked back at me and my "GLAAAAANVILLEEE!" yell and looked honestly hurt. It was both humorous and convicting at the same time. I don't support yelling at the other team. I support yelling FOR your team. That being said... Torii Hunter is a coward for not playing through his injury:)
  4. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) Why go to a troll and give him what he wants? Do you honestly think 3 out of 33,000 fans got into Rowands head? You dont think that Rawnds problem was that he was facing the reigning Cy Young award winner, and not that 3 teenagers in the outfield were yelling at him? Its pretty clear who the moron is here. guy no offense, but I've more than earned my "not a teen" status. The "coward" chants from the crowd while not something I'd do or liked happening to my team's player, was incredibly hilarious due to it's unfoundedness. Who yells "coward" at a baseball player? that's comedy. 3E8 gets it.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) Nice, show everyone that your twin brother calls Rowand a coward, then call us the morons. Real nice. morons for not clicking on a web link, yes. morons for not sending hate mail to my brother and his pals who got to AROW's brain last night and squashed our victory hopes. by the way... aaron rowand recap that's the recap from the twins game last night. I hope you enjoy.
  6. it was a rant from a twin's fan about aaron rowand. The website is a reference from fight club about how we should just allow pandas to go extinct if they won't at least attempt to screw in order to save their species. click on the site, morons.
  7. that link was a sad twin fan's attempt at salvaging a season. He's desperate...and it worked tonight. As far as my brother being a tool, that may well be true, but there's a sizable amount of people here that I'd quickly deem "tools" if it weren't for the mutual admiration/desperation for the white sox. Don't let my brother win...don't be a coward... We still have a solid lead in the central...it ain't over til it's over.
  8. lol, here's an article from my twin's loving younger brother... Pandas that won't screw to save their species, "Aaron Rowand: Coward" look for sportscenter highlights of a guy holding a sign with those words on it... what an a-hole go sox!
  9. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) Ugh. Not the Beach "high on life" Girls. You've been cut off.... no longer can we be friends... you are not invited for drinks... you are the weekest link.... good bye Beach Boys > Beatles
  10. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Good call. Now we need a Tex flag smilie... oh hell yea... and an A&M flag
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) Social climber Note to everyone: If ever presented with the challenge of facing Texsox in an arguement or posting war... Repeat the following statement and all will be right. "Blue Bonnets Rule! Zeigenbach Rules! The Dixie Chicken Rules! Pat Green Rules!" wait for response.
  12. Dallas is a little far for me this time around, but I was thinking about eloping and never coming back to PA....

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) I love those... That boy's a sandwich short of a picnic That boy's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. That boy's a lightbulb out in his marquee. That boy's a card short of a full deck. yeah, your parents seem pretty rough on you....

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) And s***, y'all are libs compared to most Texans but only because my hips don't fit into wranglers and I didnt have any sisters
  16. actually, the dead people in this movie are only the "recent dead" and can interact with people like they hadn't died. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm interested.
  17. I'm turing this thread into the "Songs we can all agree on" Thread.... "Helplessly Hoping" - C,S,N, and Y "Everlong" - Foo Fighters
  18. Has anyone else read Hedrick Smith's "The Power Game?" so good. all of this is perfect examples of distractionary politics and power grabbing. GWB is rendered powerless by the left and the distractions within his own party allow his failures, or difficulties rather, in Iraq to go unnoticed.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) HEY! Who are you calling misguided? WHY I OUGHTA............. exactly...coming from a Texas Lib...what can we expect
  20. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) Wow, that's a butcher job of a spelling on Milwaukee I was trying to repeat Alice cooper's "Mee-lee-wah-kay-ee" in my head... which of course means, "The good lands"
  21. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) Annnnnnnnnnd....lock thread. have you ever heard the song? If no, do it. If yes, I'm sorry that you're listening to the Millewakee Best of music...instead of enjoying a Yuengling Lager.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) and add PA to my earlier rant. Dude, there was definitely a golden period of SLaP....it can be resurrected under the right conditions.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) IMHO, the world should be invited to post on SL&P. The rest of the forums, especially PHT, should be a little more strict, but I enjoy the vast differences in opinion. SL&P would be sooooo boring without the misguided GOPernauts like Evil Monkey, Nuke_Cleveland, YASNY, and the ultra liberal stylings of KipWells, DJ, and others. I miss being falsely accused of being an anti-Semite by I4E. IMHO, the crazier and more deeply held the better in SL&P. When the psycho on the corner who is talking to himself while listening to the changing voices in his head gets a net connection, send him to SL&P. Brando is amongst the elite posters on Soxtalk...er, was. I'd vote for his return anyday, comrade.
  24. can we all just agree that "Helplessly Hoping" is one of the greatest songs ever written? ok, good.
  25. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Hated the movie, saw it in IMAX. A few things which made it tough for me to like, considering I am a huge fan of the original. 1) Depp was horrible as Wonka. He came off more as a mysterious, creepy figure than anything else. This is not the way Wonka came off in Dahl's book or in the original movie. 2) The music was terrible. Instead of the Oompa Loompas tunes, they had songs for each kid after they made their exit out of the movie. You couldn't understand any of the lyrics either. No pure imagination or golden ticket, either. 3) I didn't like the same guy playing all of the Oompa Loompas. 4) No slugworth talked to all of the kids after they found the ticket and there was no giving back the gobstopper at the end. This was out of line with the way I remember the book. 5) No bubble drink scene, which was part of the book and original. I agree with alot of what you said, but I still managed to like it somehow. I guess I just liked seeing a different take on the whole thing, but I would add that the flow from each scene was ackward and I didn't like that willy wonka didn't sing at all. I thought the garden scene from the original was one of the best scenes from the movies and cinema all together.
