Omar is catching on. Finally getting his AJ-swing on. -
This is exciting news! But I'll believe it when the first trade papers hit the commissioner's desk.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) That's because you enjoy it more when all is looking bad, Tito. Again, what's wrong with you? You're an idiot. I don't enjoy when all is looking bad.. thats just f***ing stupid. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) I'm excited to see how they manage to deal with the small issue surrounding their sponsor. I refuse to watch the series.. I would feel like a major hypocrite. I've boycotted BP, and I really hope the Sox make the correct change. -

I feel like I should be happy that we're only down 1, but for some reason I'm not. Ugh. Depressing -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) Alexei now pushing .260 after his horrible start. And as our offense starts turning it around, our pitching staff falls harder. Story of the Sox. The only time we've ever had both phases of the game clicking at the same time was '05.. and that was just magical. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:37 PM) He still may take the walk. When guys hit 3-0, they are sitting on a pitch in a certain location. Its not like a green light means automatic swing. What are the odds of the Sox getting 4 guys on consecutively? Exactly. It's not like he HAS to swing. It's just that he should be READY to crush a get-me-over pitch right down the heart of the plate.. I trust Konerko enough to know when to swing and when to take. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) For your power hitters, and especially our team with such a weak top/bottom of the order, I'd rather see guys swinging from their heels in that position. All you're doing if you walk in front of AJP or Kotsay is setting up the 4-6-3. This. No point in walking when we're just going to follow it up with a GIDP. If I were the other team, I'd just walk Rios every at bat... I bet he'd score less than 25% of the time. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Why, so you can draw a walk? I'd prefer a hit with the chances of an extra base hit. I agree. But I also think it depends on who is up at the plate. I'd give Albert Pujols the 3-0 green light 100% of the time. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) Yes, without a doubt. There's really not much to be excited about regarding the future of this team over the next 2-3 years. Completely agree. I mean, coming into the season we had Beckham to look forward to. But it's June 6th, and he's still clueless at the plate. And we all know how much our farm system sucks. We have no legit talent down there who can come up and provide for this team. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) The real question you have to ask is...can you find a manager who will do a better job with the future of the team? You mean for the remainder of this year? Absolutely not. And as far as the next years after Ozzie, it really can't be hard to find someone better. Honestly, we'd be a better team right now if we didn't have a manager. I'm still all for the idea of the fans running the team. With the technology these days, it wouldn't be hard to make some kind of democratic vote for lineups, pitching changes, pinch runners/hitters, all that. And I am 100% sure we'd do a better job running the team than Oz. I say that in all seriousness. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) You really think it matters if they win this game 8-7 or lose it 10-8 or lose it 15-2 in regards to what the franchise is going to do? It would be like basing giving a guy a $50 million extension based on one AB. If Ozzie quits or gets fired, Joey Cora is the manager. If Greg Walker gets the shaft, Gary Ward is coming in, and that already turned out badly. Obviously, if we fire Ozzie, we aren't going to do anything this year. I don't think anyone who is all there in the head would disagree. This team is 100% done. If we stick out the year with Oz at the helm, we'll fade into oblivion and all that we gained from '05 will be gone (if its not already). -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) I'm actually getting excited at possible personnel changes in the next 24 hours. This is definitely a manager terminated-esque season/home stand. Do you REALLY think it's going to happen? I don't. I have no faith in KW or JR to make a change. This is a WORLD SERIES TEAM (5 years ago)!!!!! OZ FOREVER! -

Has there ever been a game played with no one in attendance? We should try to set that up somehow. We need someone with a big bankroll to pay all the fans their money for the tickets, and tell them not to come. I think that would immediately demand a firing. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) It's a case of a finesse pitcher that has no confidence in his stuff/command. Should have seen this coming when he was talking in the offseason about how he knows he's lost a lot of stuff. I don't even think the Cardinals would want him anymore. He's barely even our #4 starter at this point. -
