I kind of feel bad for Vizquel. He just needs to let it go.. luckily for him, Kenny was there to give him a spot.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:10 PM) how's Frank been in the both? I've enjoyed it, but then again, I'm a homer for Frank. He's my child hood idol.

Nice hit! First pitch swinging.. maybe he's figuring it out.

The Designated Hitter
I'm sure we could get Frank to unretire for a few months, no? Even if he can't run, he'll still be better than anything we have. EDIT: I struggled with the decision to green this or not..

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) IF Alex Rios has proven anything it's that Mark Teahen needs to have multiple children. But at the same time, didn't Quentin just get engaged/married? And he's doing awful.

And we strand a pair.

Way to suck, Mark. Too bad you couldn't be like either of the other Marks.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) According to the Royals broadcasters Mark Teahen just got engaged. This is a good thing right? Beginning of marriages are good, divorces are bad. I expect him to hit .300 in the month of June.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) Bulls*** call on a curve that didn't break. Completely agree. I can't believe he gave him that call, especially when he almost hit Alexei on about 3 occasions. Awful.

Bad call. Awesome at bat by Alexei. Fouled off a lot.

I'm really glad Thomas is so willing to be back with this franchise. I'd have been pissed if he left and never came back.

Of course Gil Meche, with his 8 ERA and 2 WHIP is shutting us down through 2.

So, Alex Rios last season (when we all hated him) was batting .199. We currently have three starters under that mark, along with 3/4s of our bench. Our other bench member, Nix, is batting .211, a tad bit above this mark. Just thought it was interesting. Ironically, Alex Rios is actually our best hitter (by a lot) right now.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 14, 2010 -> 01:38 AM) I love Farmio and DJ, but I love DJ when he was with Hawk too, because he fed of Hawks energy. I loved him there too, but I don't like Hawk. I used to, but he has just become way too annoying to me. I count it as another benefit of my job requiring me to be in my car most of the day, listening to DJ and Farmer.

QUOTE (scenario @ May 13, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Fewest Link Beckham must have like half of those too. I swear, he K's twice a game it seems like. Actually, Beckham does have the most K's on the team (28) in 31 games, so a little bit under 1 a game. His 28 are ~16% of the team's total.. I really hope he starts figuring it out. EDIT: Jones strikes out more times per game than Becks though, so he's not leading that category. Jones has 25Ks in 27 games played.

QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 13, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) I find the banter between DJ and Farmer to be pretty funny. I can never tell if they are just joking around or there's actually some tension. DJ always seems to have that slight tone of taunting, like he's trying to make Farmer angry. I think they are better together than DJ and Hawk were together. This! This is why I LOVE the radio broadcast team. DJ and Farmio have such awkward dialogue sometimes, and I can never tell if it's serious. Whatever it is, the broadcasts always have me laughing, therefore, its a success. Oh, and they do a good job getting the game across too. But that's just my opinion.

Offensive / Hitting Approach
I don't get how we can just be so unlucky as a team, year after year. To me, it seems like we need to overhaul the scouting department. Bring in some new eyes or something. Who is our scouting director and how long has he been here?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:51 AM) For those who didn't see this catch. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play...tent_id=7977171 I hate Pierre (though I now sound like a broken record) but his reaction was hilarious. I saw it while I was watching it and laughed. Haha, it was classic!

What happened to DJ?

Quentin.
I never had a problem with Valentin. I mean, he wasn't the best for average hitter, but he could mash sometimes. He was an awful SS though, but he made up for it with the Stache. Dude was a pimp!

I mean, if he gets to .100.. he HAS to be DFA'ed... right? I don't even know anymore. I feel like this guy could be sporting a .000 and he'd still be out there.

When is Kotsay going to be DFA'ed? I'd actually prefer Chris Widger. At least he ALMOST hit .200.
