  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) Not to make this moment awkward but........I have an erection. It's not awkward at all. It's natural.
  2. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:52 PM) "Some guys, their behinds get so tight you couldn't pull a greased tee out with a pair of pliers." --Hawk Harrelson. I think Hawk is one of them. He's agitated beyond belief. Settle down, old man.
  3. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) What is wrong with that? It's valid. Seems about right. But Chip is still a dope.
  4. QUOTE (letsgoarow @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:40 PM) Can Getz Pitch? lol According to Hawk, better than Floyd.
  5. QUOTE (letsgoarow @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) we drop bombs, so what f*** you Chip. Though TBS is blacked out at my Chicago home, I can still hear Chip -- because he is a one-note, shrieking dope.
  6. QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) You shoulda herd Rogney defending Ozzie on the post game show last night. Someone called and said Logan shouldn't be on the mound and Rogney pretty much told him to shut up and it was only Boones fault because he didn't perform and it was a nobrainer etc. Which is ironic, since Rongey is the no-brainer.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:28 PM) Hawk is absolutely pissed off about Gavin's effort so far today. I've never heard him more upset about a player's performance. Yep. Look, I think Floyd is a questionable proposition, but Hawk can shove it. Floyd's not this team's problem.
  8. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:25 PM) i'd like to see Swisher hitting back in Oakland and Gio Gonzalez as our 5th starter or available before July 31 to be traded for a starter. Fixed it.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:18 PM) Agreed And Hawk's anxiety doesn't help me, as a viewer. We get it Hawk; you don't like Floyd.
  10. QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) So we have never really see Buchholz (besides OC and Wise). It feels like a big cloud came in right about the time Jose went down. Feels nervous out there.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 09:21 PM) Hey, a win! Great job by Thornton and OC tonight. Good job by Jenks -- didn't have the real good stuff and pitched through it!
  12. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) Jenks can't find the strike zone. Looks like he's aiming it.
  13. And Paulie remembers that he can't hit the low off-speed pitch.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Rumor today is that he won't return this month. I haven't liked the vague sound of the Linebrink thing since it started -- his pollyanna stuff about taking it slow and talk about accupuncture and whatever. I'm going to be just a tad surprised if he's back -- and remotely effective -- before this year is out.
  15. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) did you see where the catcher was set up? To be honest, no. Was it outside or inside? The pitch before was in.
  16. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) Wasn't a bad pitch at all IMO. Maggs went and got a low outside pitch. And if anybody noticed...our CF was playing WAY to the leftfield side on a low and outside pitch. And that's why it was a bad pitch. My guess is that the plan was to pitch him in, not away.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) Why didn't the White Sox go after Chad Bradford? We got Griffey. We're all set.
  18. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) Yea, I didn't quite get that. His run isn't that important if it's the 9th IMO because you still have a runner on and the tying run at the plate. But since we had another inning, his run was important because one swing of the bat in the 9th and it's tied up! Interesting because, presumably, that's why Cox sent him. If it were the 9th, I bet he doesn't. Whatever -- it was dumb.
  19. I'll say this, though. Alexei Ramirez is the one guy I want up there in any clutch situation. Ahead in the count, behind in the count, breaking ball, fastball -- the guy just puts a good swing on it no matter what. He's been awesome in those situations.
  20. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) DAMN Sorry, Hawk. It wasn't a "brilliant" play. He had it the whole way and stretched for it. It was a Mark DeRosa kind of great catch.
  21. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) Any runner should've been sent home. The thing is, we didn't pinch run for Thome. We absolutely should have. The bounce when Raburn picked it up dictated such. Seriously, I've never seen Thome run that slowly. But he looked that way coming INTO THIRD BASE. So, stop him there.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) How much are the Twins paying him? I've never seen Thome move THAT slowly. BUT -- WHY WAS HE BEING SENT AT ALL?
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) How much are the Twins paying him? I've never seen Thome move THAT slowly. BUT -- WHY WAS HE BEING SENT AT ALL?
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) The pitching match-ups for the White Sox are not good at all this weekend. That's because the Red Sox have better pitchers than we do.
