  1. QUOTE (NUKE @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 04:08 AM) I know he's only batting 9th but if you guys want to b**** about someone not hitting you should focus on Juan Uribe. Years on this team and he's still going up there time after time and hitting nothing at all but air. I don't see any threads bashing him around here. Do you have me on ignore or something?
  2. Obviously he is better at hitting for average with men on, or else he wouldn't put up RBI totals. I wouldn't say he one of the better guys on the club. Also his clutch stats are terrible. He hits the best when up by 4 or more runs. I don't know where to find any stats on moving runners over or sac flys(no shocker to me that he is good at that the way he pops out all the time) but I'd love to see them. One more thing, this is about iguchi, and he is better in every stat I mentioned.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 01:36 PM) If Uribe hits his usual ~20HR, ~70RBI, ~55Runs, and plays the defense he will usually play...I'd be perfectly happy, and I wouldn't care what he eats or drinks, either. People are stuck on Uribe's avg...so what, he hardly gets on base and doesn't hit a lot, so let's ignore the fact he still puts up some *VERY* decent numbers and is a power threat at the NINTH spot in our order. Yea, let's get rid of that for someone that wouldn't even come close to that power production. Let's get rid of Crede while were at it...oh, and Thome, too. Sometimes you people drive me F-ING batty. The thing is, I have no confidence in him doing that. Also, iguchi put up similar numbers to those, but with a .340 OBP. I'm not stuck on his average as much as his OBP and TERRIBLE situational hitting. As its been said in other threads, OBP is more important than slugging, 1.8 times as important by some statisticians estimates. Crede? Thome? Those guys are another class. What do they have to do with anything? Anyway, it was just a joke, because he gained weight, then sucked at the plate. Not sure why that drives you batty.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) Bahaha I just looked up Jeter from last year for my own amusement (I know he is a below average SS) and he is next to last. lol, I really hate that guy. To uribe's credit he was 4th last year at 2nd base. I just don't trust fielding stats. I trust what I see.
  5. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) Uribe is ranked # 4 in MLB in range factor http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/fieldi...umn=rangeFactor So was iguchi last year. Not sure I trust that noise.
  6. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 01:40 PM) ARamRod eats iguchi for breakfast Uribe eats an entire pig, three loves of white bread and nine dozen eggs for breakfast.
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:23 PM) Or, he's saying that he's not predicting them to win the Central, bu that there is a good chance they do. That's how I read it.
  8. I think you have to wait and see how he performs this year before saying no team would want him for 10 million in 09.
  9. I like how he says he didn't agree with what he said, not because he was wrong but because of the wording. With that plus what he adds about wasting his time, you can tell what he really thinks.
  10. Could be. I took it as frustration after a loss.
  11. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) 6-13. They will have to go 89-54 the rest of the way to reach 95 wins (.622 pct). They didn't really come back to win like I thought. I swear gameday said toronto was down 3-0 like 15 minutes ago and that score never happened. Either way, the tigers lost. That's good to see.
  12. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) Just for s***s and giggles, how old is Borass? And how much does he like bacon and other cholesterol products? He is 55 or 56. Stranger things have happened.
  13. A lot can happen in 5 years. I wouldn't count it out entirely. s***, borass could die.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) what excuse is detoilet going to use for sucking this week? I know, have Van Slyke yell at the team! Frank Thomas distracted them.
  15. Javier, I mean. Is there a carlos vasquez on some other team or something? Not sure was thinking.
  16. This entire thread makes no sense. "Yes. This is going to get us to the playoffs!" We are in first place right now and this isn't exactly the time to make moves.
  17. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) And wow, who would have thought after this many games that Danks and Gavin would be our best two pitchers? I think they have both outperformed Vazquez, who has been solid too. And obviously, they've done better than Buehrle and Contreras. But I'm excited. They may have but I am still more comfortable with Carlos out there.
  18. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) Whatever, I'm over this whole Brian thing. Get rid of him and move on. Let him go to a team that actually wants to give him a chance. I agree.
  19. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) Has it seemed like to anyone else that Crede has been much worse this year then his numbers would indicate? He has been a little off defensively but I think he's done pretty damn well.
  20. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) Actually, he has about 500 at bats in his career and has never produced. Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds? A ton of great mlb players didn't produce in their first 430 at bats.
