  1. Congrats chris.
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:28 AM) well, he did fail pretty badly on that hit and run attempt. That was one play that just happened to be tonight. Overall, he has hit the ball more, though not nearly as hard.
  3. OC is getting on base at about the same rate Quentin is but with a higher average. So with that higher average he is more likely to move Swisher from 1st to third. Right now, he seems like the better option.
  4. No one is clutch 100% of the time. I don't think anyone is more often the clutch hitter though.
  5. Quentin almost hit that out with almost no lower body. It was all shoulders and arms.
  6. I'd like to put crede there if I were going to put one of the two- which I would not. We aren't going to resign the guy and fields needs to get his licks at 3rd. I don't care if he is only average while joe is one of the best.
  7. I wonder how bad it is. Is it bring up owens time? Will they let brian play?
  8. I wish they'd try to shoot a 30 30 past him. It would take care of this ump or at least posada.
  9. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) thornton is just a GOOOOD time!!!! we're about to see one bullpen totally outclass another Which one?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) One of the few Cubs legends who isn't a douchebag. Agreed.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) You mean the strike off the corner that was really a ball? Yeah, at least there's something resembling consistency. Yeah. I'd rather have a normal strike zone for both teams but I'll take it.
  12. Good to see the ump give us that call.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Ugh, Floyd's going to let the Yankees get right back into this game. They were never really out of the game.
  14. Not good defense by the yankees. Not disgusting but not good. Ensberg didn't get in front of that ball, abreu actually ran forward a few steps before running back, then ensberg had a poor throw to home.
  15. Hawk got a little too excited about ball 4.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) Ryan Howard is getting benched for a couple of games. I wonder if he'll pop off. Does he have a ten million dollar option based on at bats involved? No, so its not the same.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) You're never really over a back injury. No kidding. I pinched a nerve in my back when I was 16 and it is still not the same. I am 26 now. Joe is older so he won't heal as well and he had a much worse injury. I wouldn't think about signing him to a long term deal. Some team will though, and it might work out for them.
  18. QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 01:37 PM) OK, they are open to talks with every team in baseball except maybe one. I think its illegal for him to talk with any other teams but that one until the contract is up.
  19. QUOTE (southsidehawkeye @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) I love it when Hawk and DJ bring up Juan's 2004 run. How long can a player ride one hot streak? I think Juan is going for some kind of world record here...
