  1. Dodgers contracts worth more than $100M: Shohei Ohtani: 10 years, $700,000,000 Mookie Betts: 12 years, $365,000,000 Yoshinobu Yamamoto: 12 years, $325,000,000 Kyle Tucker: 4 years, $240,000,000 Blake Snell: 5 years, $182,000,000 Freddie Freeman: 6 years, $162,000,000 Will Smith: 10 years, $140,000,000 Tyler Glasnow: 5 years, $136,562,500 But nothing is wrong with MLB and money.
  2. Someone said 4/240 for Tucker, not confirmed of course. 2 Opt Outs after years 2 and 3. Man...its getting bonkers out here.
  3. OK, lets not confuse 'trying this offseason' and 'signing a guy to a short term deal because long term interest wasn't there from anyone'. This is still the same organization, until at least 2029.
  4. Win-Win. I understand folks wanting more than 2 years. If he comes here and tears it up, there is reason to believe Ishbia will see the value in keeping him around. The cultural impact alone can move merch. If he comes here, and struggles to establish himself, well...its 2 years.
  5. This is so unexpected, I'm hardly sure how to act honestly. Just not a move that happens, IMO, without the current secondary (to be primary) ownership in place. Maybe I'm wrong, but history says I'm not. I love it!
  6. Which is 100% a positive, and what I'd want.
  7. Thank you, Ishbia. I now have a reason to possibly hit Tampa and watch the Sox again next year! Too bad they aren't playing in Atlanta, but Tampa works.
  8. It would certainly generate a little excitement that we sorely need. Outside of the draft next year, we need some hope and reason to watch.
  9. Without seeing any of these kids with my own eyes, the young man who plays for Rusty Greer in HS, Emerson, intrigues me a ton if you're going to take one of the SS's at the top.
  10. The High School SS behind Roch seems to be pretty well regarded.
  11. "It is an honor to be this bad at something. Thanks!"
  12. It seems you're here hellbent to bark this evening. Sorry, not going to be a willing participant.
  13. You're right, this organization is a beacon for 'properly spending'. My apologies. And yes, to be fair, draft picks in the 1st round are usually not undercut, even by Woolworths of Chicago.
  14. I think they meant "Is there a clear #1 who ALSO the White Sox will pay for?"
  15. Don't like it, at all.
  16. Move is fine, someone has to pitch and in today's baseball world, even shitty pitchers get double digit million dollar contracts. Kay for 2/12 is perfectly fine.
  17. I definitely expected a little more from Canario, but maybe he's just who he appears to be: fodder.
  18. Welcome, Chris, and apologies in advance for the roster you're going to be pitching for.
  19. The team with no pitching, trades pitching. Interesting
  20. I didn't even see Santos mentioned anywhere, only the others.
  21. I don't get Santos being let go, the rest...yeah, I see it.
  22. I can't remember this kind of power streak from a kid we've called up, this is crazy.
  23. Team leader in HRs, that dreaded Lenyn Sosa. I love Lenyn, I just wish he had a bit more baseball IQ out there. Hard to argue the bat, though.
