  1. Makes Chris Sale look like he is making a few pennies a year. That's ok, I'll take that Chris Sale contract ANYDAY.
  2. Goodness....lucky ole us, I guess. I thought I only had to hear that BS from Clemson fans.
  3. As a Packers fan, I can say a huge thanks to locking up Cutler for 7 years. Appreciate it!
  4. Shaw being Shaw yesterday. I love it. I only wish that we hadn't burned his freshman season, all because Stephen Garcia was a douchenozzle at times. I knew Wiscy was going to be able to run at will, but that was only the case between the 20s. I also love how Tanner McEvoy got so pissy at South Carolina, and transferred to Wiscy, because he was told he'd never see the field as a QB. So he transfers, and....plays defense. Idiot.
  5. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 09:47 PM) Clemson gets an at-large berth in a BCS bowl? Glad that system is gone. I had that discussion with my coworkers last Thursday, who are all Clemson fans here in Upstate S.C. I couldn't seem to get the point across that, you've accomplished nothing that is deserving of a BCS bowl, other than be the lucky recipient of a spot due to archaic BCS/conference limit rules. Welcome to the downside of the SEC, Mizzou. We(South Carolina) have been in the Top 10 of the BCS standings the last 3 years, beat the eventual SEC East champion all 3 years, and have zero BCS appearances to show for it. I'll never understand why such a system was 'trustworthy' enough to pinpoint the Top 2 teams for the BCSNC, but not used at all for Teams 3-10 for the other BCS bowls. Oh wait, I do understand...it was always about spreading the money to conferences, not about who deserved to be there.
  6. I root for no other SEC teams, and think it is dumb when people reference conference pride, etc. And yes, our fans are some of the worst at it. I hate it. Now, with that being said....go beat Auburn, Mizzou...
  7. I think people underestimate the difficulty of that Auburn offense, when it comes to stopping it. I wanted no part of the Auburn attack in the SECCG, much rather liked our chances against Alabama. Of course, that was assuming Mizzou lost again but they didn't.
  8. Well damn, congrats Mizzou. go make a mess of Auburn's season next week, please! That embarrassing loss to Tennessee hurts us in all sorts of ways, now.
  9. Mizzou fans, feel free to drop the game this weekend at Ole Miss. Don't mind us South Carolina fans back here, we're just uh..hanging out and stuff.....
  10. Wowzers. We were dead in the water for 3 quarters, thanks to some bad fumbles, confused secondary, etc.. What a 4th quarter + OT though! Conner Shaw is one tough son of a b****.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 19, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) I was watching the Gators continue to look like s*** on offense so I didnt see most of the game but Spurrier pussed out on the last drive. First down wins it and he played scared. I know the starter got knocked out but he's got to throw the ball on 3rd down. I've NEVER seen him coach and playcall so badly. I honestly don't understand what he was doing. Had the ball at midfield, less than 6 minutes to go, and the SEC leading rusher in the backfield. What do you do? Throw it incomplete twice, and QB scramble? He better take the blame for this one wholeheartedly, the team almost won in spite of whatever the hell he was doing.
  12. Embarrassing, Soxtalk would have been smart enough to run the ball in the 4th quarter, and grind it out. Nope, our dumbass coaching staff think its the right time to throw to guys who haven't been open all day. 8-4 here we come.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 04:50 PM) Franklin will be out a few weeks, said Pinkel Mauk is gonna be a talent, but not yet. Hilarious how again, the calls are "Mizzou hasn't beat anyone, Georgia was so injured!". I don't recall any sympathy last year when mizzou lost 9 offensive lineman and Franklin. I'm gonna relish this victory, it's hard to beat any team on the road, I don't care if Georgia was injured. They were injured at skill positions, which they have a ton of. They weren't missing Murray. They weren't down lineman. Mizzou lost their best CB and QB in this game, and when only up 2, they...scored 2 touchdowns to ice the game. It was a huge game for the program, but it sucks because had franklin stayed healthy, we are legit SEC contenders. Instead, I mean, we have to see how Mauk does. We have a great rushing attack but without that fantastic game management of him we are screwed. THAT SAID, our defense continues to get better. Our defensive line has 2-3 NFL players on there now. Michael Sam, Kony Ealy and Markus Golden are a revelation. I don't think we can take SC and FLA with Mauk. But I'm thrilled for Coach Pinkel, who doubled down on his system and recruiting and brought his team back. Franklin - get better, man. You had NFL possibility before this, please get back and show everyone up. IF we drop 2 to SC and FLA, but get back and beat out the back end of the schedule, possible BCS birth. I'd be lying if I didn't say I think our chances of winning at Mizzou went up dramatically now, with Franklin out. Poor kid can't catch a break with the shoulder and labrum injuries. Honestly think, with a healthy Franklin, our chances of winning at Mizzou were no more than 30%. With Mauk, things change. I do think that Mizzou will be bowling in Cap1 or Chik Fil A this year, though.
  14. Boom, Mizzou!! Us South Carolina fans are bigtime fans of Mizzou's whoopin on UGA. Hope Franklin is ok.
  15. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 10:39 PM) Yep. You guys lucked out getting the noon game at Neyland. Obviously SC is still a lot more talented, but a night game in Neyland can be especially tough on teams (e.g. Georgia). The other downside is that it's Fall Break for UT so not as many students will be there. Yeah, I'm happy with the game time for sure. Still, wouldn't be overly surprised to lose this one or the one at Mizzou. There is a dynamic that is missing from this team, that we got used to in the past: dominant defensive play. It isn't there this year, which is a shame, considering it is probably the best offense Spurrier has had since he's been the coach there.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 11:50 AM) Man, if there is ever a time where Mizzou could beat Georgia, it would be this week. String of injuries for Georgia's playmakers on offense, a struggling defense vs. Mizzou who is remarkably healthy. Will be interesting to see, Murray has been clutch as hell for them though, and Georgia's 3rd string RBs are better than most teams first. If you were at home, I'd give the edge to Mizzou. Home field seems paramount, this year more than I can ever remember before.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) why didnt he eat? was it illness related? would really be the only logical explanation for not eating. Ate a banana and a couple of grapes he said. Said remnants of stomach virus up until before the game. Who knows though, I hope that is the case, it would make sense, as he looked totally gassed and spaced out. Hey, works out great for us, all the media backlash about his 1st game should work out well on Georgia next week, he's got a lot to prove.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 11:37 PM) No offense Capn, but Clowney disappears every game. He looks great and makes some highlight plays but the guy has no motor. I wouldnt draft him very high. The guy didn't eat before the game and flat ran out of gas. I don't buy into all the hype Team ESPN throws his way, but he is a better player than what showed last night. Luckily, the rest of the D Line is no slouch, either.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 06:44 PM) Yeah yeah. I'm sure you've never liked a single OSU coach in your lifetime so its not so hard to believe you feel that way. If you liked him I'm sure he wouldn't have been very successful. I have no ties to OSU or Michigan, and I still think Urban Meyer is a 1st class douchenozzle piece of s***. If he was my head coach, I'd think the same, but that is how it goes. And, those aren't the rules for the entire SEC, just certain teams. South Carolina had to wait months, sit guys out for many games, etc, while waiting on the NCAA to make a decision on whether players getting rack rate on hotel rooms was illegal.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 26, 2013 -> 09:31 PM) Maybe, but pretty much none of this inning is on his pitching. Oh, definitely not. Defense has been nothing short of stupendous, for sure. This has to rank up there as one of the most abysmal lineups in MLB right now, hands down.
  21. That John Danks contract is looking pretty awesome about now....this franchise is absolutely snake-bitten when it comes to finally giving pitchers a decent contract.
  22. $80 a piece, all day, Blu Ray players with WiFi, and can stream NetFlix, just sayin'.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 12:25 PM) Right, you can install games from the disc too to speed up loading times, but you still can't install the game and then play it. That's what I want...to BUY the physical media, THEN install it, THEN not need the disc again. You need an activation code to prevent pirating and stealing games, but I want that option too. OR why shouldn't I be able to download a game once I have a physical copy and new activation code. I'd like to download Fallout 3 to my system, as I did with Left 4 Dead 2, but I will have to pay for the digital copy of it. Why should I? I've already bought the physical copy. Yeah, in an ideal world, this would be the option I'd be ok with as well. But we're still tethered to having the actual disc, to enjoy a game.
  24. Until every household has the availability of broadband access, it is hard to argue the 'always connected' model. I'm all for it myself, but then again I have ISP choices in my area. It is hard for most of us to imagine not having the choice of ISPs that will provide necessary bandwidth, and quite often a forgotten point.
  25. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) When I need a new blu ray player I buy a PS3. Im not talking about households who are buying $50 dvd players, Im talking about households who have the money to buy DVDs the day they are released because they dont want to wait 40 for Netflix. So, you want your console to be more of an entertainment center that you can do multiple things on. Kind of like watching movies or playing games that other people have, but you don't own? Is it easier to meet up with said person, ask to borrow the movie/game, take it home, watch it, meet back up and give it back...or...access digital media via that entertainment console the instant you decide that you want to see/play it? It seems the latter was a feature that up until recently, was going to be made possible... The fact that some entities have sticks up their asses with respect to who they will allow to publish their media, has no bearing on what is the better option down the road. Because physical media can't go missing/scratched/broken/etc?
