  1. The problem is that with every one of these ugly losses, we get closer to "the end".
  2. Didn't you promise to leave and never come back? I'm just asking...
  3. Twins win 7-5. Man, they are rolling...and have been for months. Incredible.
  4. No, BA is a good defensive CF and Buehrle needs that with all the hard hit and deep fly balls he's been giving up. Therefore, Buehrle pitching + no BA in CF = problems.
  5. Ozzie thinks we do. To you it makes little sense. To me it makes little sense. To most Sox fans it makes little sense. To KW and Ozzie, it might make a lot of sense. Don't be surprised if one of the following two trades happens: Crede for Figgins and an A- prospect or Crede for Figgins and a decent major league reliever.
  6. Unless you really like small-ball and grinders... Yes, this is all speculation from a journalist, but unfortunately it makes all too much sense. I could easily see KW doing this.
  7. The Royals GM has said repeatedly since Teahen's injury that he's not bringing up Gordon to the majors at all this season. He has been unequivocal on this point.
  8. Great, that's all we need is another speedy, but low-OBP "grinder". Instead of more grinders, this needs more good baseball players. That means that they get on base and have at least line drive power.
  9. I have to say that Brandon "The Savior" McCarthy is overrated as well. He is definitely the most overrated pitcher on this team. He may have a great future, but his present is mediocre at best. He has not pitched well this season. He would not improve our rotation. If you have a 4.79 ERA as a reliever, what kind of ERA does that translate to as a starter? Undoubtedly over 5. We don't need another starter with an ERA over 5. McCarthy also cannot be counted on in close game situations as a reliever. I sure hope he develops and improves. I'm more than a little worried about him being in the rotation next year, which apparently is a certainty at this point. "The Fuse Is Lit?" How f***ing hilarious. Gotta love the mindless cheerleading though. However, after a game like this and what I expect from the west coast swing, that banner is going to make me even more depressed.
  10. Your basic point is that a player is either ok to play or he isn't and that a manager shouldn't differentiate between a pitcher who is at 100% and one who is at 75%. That is idiotic. He was in a situation where no one knew how much his injury would affect his pitching. So, if you put him in, you look closely and have a quick hook. You don't leave him out there when he clearly doesn't have his stuff AT ALL just because he's the closer. Your simplicity on this issue is mind blowing.
  11. I can't believe anyone could be this dense. Jenks is hurt. He's been saying all week that he's hurt and obviously isn't 100%. When you put your closer into the game in THAT situation, then he has to be on a short leash. THAT is the situation where you don't leave your closer out there to give out double after double after double. Do you get it...finally?
  12. How many doubles should Ozzie leave Jenks out there to give up? Especially when you know he isn't 100%. Ozzie left him out there way too long.
  13. I sure as hell hope so. I hope he's ready for the majors by 2008.
  14. Ozuna leaves a big poo stain on the bed. I hope the bullpen can hold a 1-run lead, because I don't have faith in this offense getting an insurance run.
