  1. I think it's pretty bad that 126 members of House,a number of senators, more than a dozen state AG's and many many state level reps are willing and eager to do some sedition for Trump, even if it's a cynical move to rile up their base or distract Democrats or whatever excuse is proffered.
  2. Guys if you look at the image I posted, it says "major deadly events" and isn't a numbered list. The snopes article applies more to the tweets they reference than what's going on in that picture. Why would you do this
  3. Three thousand more dead every day from now until st patrick's day Open'r up
  4. Two to three months of more than three thousand people dying every single day from COVID. I'm glad my wife's district has again pushed back the start of in person school.
  5. The difference between 80% effective and 95% effective is enormous, though. Especially if there's any sterilizing effects that'll actually halt transmission chains.
  6. The State of Pennsylvania is willing to call the GOP efforts to subvert democracy what they are: seditious.
  7. So at best, they're cynically trying to destroy our democracy for future power gains. Okay. That's still where we're at with the modern GOP. It's not just Trump. Because as far as these legal efforts are, it really is that simple. If this Texas lawsuit, now joined by over a dozen Republican AG's, is successful, it will mean that they have destroyed American democracy and installed an unelected autocrat. That's the stakes of the legal claims they are trying to make. If they are doing so cynically knowing that they're garbage lawsuits, it still tells you a whole hell of a lot about who they are and how committed they are to democracy.
  8. Right-wing elected officials including 18 Attorneys General are filing absurd lawsuits directly to SCOTUS to throw out the results of the election and install Trump. That is what the modern GOP is.
  9. Will Harris work hard to completely undermine our electoral democracy? I don't care about rightwing fever dreams about what Harris would do. I care about what right wing elected officials are actually doing, right now.
  10. They're not afraid of him. They're afraid of the base that supports him and elects them. This is what the modern GOP is.
  11. A whole lot of GOP elected officials really, really don't care for democracy.
  12. Some good news: The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine provides pretty good immunity 14 days after the first dose. So if you forget to get your second dose or it's delayed for some reason, you still have pretty robust protection. Still better to get the second shot and wait another week or two to get up to that 95% level, of course.
  13. The anti-democratic party continues apace edit: good lord e2:
  14. Everything I've seen is that it's expensive but it's a solved problem. Just lots of dry ice.
  15. This was the data scientist who was fired back in April or so for refusing orders to cover up all the data
  16. Or it is because the production is already spoken for by other government contracts until June
  17. This would be for beyond the 100M doses already contracted, but that's still not good news for getting a vaccine out to everyone
  18.
