  1. Would a 1-2-3 inning be nice? Of course. But we know that's out of the question. Bottom line, Koch came in with the lead, and he ended the game with the lead, albeit smaller. Closers are gonna blow a few. FWIW, he got squeezed by the ump on the 1-2 pitch to Surhoff. That was a strike. But they've missed quite a few this year, so can't really say much. Maybe this is the game where he has the close call, and he focuses and bears down from this point on. At least I hope it is....
  2. Garland is showing maturity out there. The record might not reflect it, but I still think he's gonna have a breakout year the rest of the way.
  3. For all of those media outlets, sports-talk radio shows, message board trolls (not this one) & general pessimists that were slamming on Kenny Williams for acquiring this guy when the "big names" were still out there: I'd love to hear from you! No doubt this guy can't keep up this torrid pace forever, and hell, he might even go into a funk during this season. But so far in this young season, this guy has won games for the Sox with his bat and glove. He can play 3 different positions and play all with competence. He could be the next Miguel Tejada. He could be the next Tony Graffanino. Either way, I'm just glad he's here. Once again, for every big name trade that KW has been swindled on, there's the Damaso Martes, Estaban Loaizas, Scot Schoenweises, Cliff Polittes, & Juan Uribes that help me keep the faith. Let's keep the magic going.
  4. How in the hell did you guys center your posts? And now mine is centered too. Ooooooooooookay.
  5. Angels now lead 8-6. Vlad Guererro with an RBI single off of Al Levine to tie it, then Glaus with a 2 run jack for the lead. Colon gets off with a ND.
  6. New venue, same team, same result. Colon's line: 6 IP, 10 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K's, 1 HR 4.38 ERA, and in line for a loss (though the Angels are now trailing 6-5). The 2 unearned runs was due to a Vlad Guererro error when he let an lazy fly ball go off his glove. Schoe's line tonight against the O's: 7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K's, 3.69 ERA and a win.
  7. Stark's not coming back. She took a job with NBC last year.
  8. And throughout all of that: A win's a win. I don't care if it's by blowout or by nail-biter. As long as they get the "W", fine by me.
  9. Wins on this homestand: Yankees (1) Devil Rays (2) Indians (1) Blue Jays (3) Losses: Yankees (2) Devil Rays (1) Indians (1) Blue Jays (1) All 3 games against NY were close, could've had a sweep against Cleveland if not for incosistent performance by Garland and the 'pen, & the Blue Jays loss was due to another crappy performance by Wright. All in all, a pretty good homestand. Now they gotta win these games on the road. Especially since they'll return to Chicago to face the hated Twinkies.
  10. Orlando Hudson. Every time we got this guy to 2 strikes, he managed to get on base.
  11. I love it when I'm wrong! Way to go, Damaso!!!!
  12. If I'm not mistaken, his song is "Fuel" by Metallica.
  13. Come on Billy! Nail it down for Garland.
  14. Uribe strikes out. Whether it be Politte or Koch, let's hold 'em and end the homestand on a high note.
  15. Willie with a bunt hit! Come on Juan, time to go to the seats!
  16. Alright, a baserunner! Come on Willie, 2 run jack!!!
  17. Farnsworth is looking like a certain Sox pitcher who has trouble finding the plate at times. CARDS WIN!!!
  18. Farnsworth has walked the bases loaded. Rolen up.
  19. Politte gets Phelps to ground out. Bottom 8th 3-2 Sox. Come on guys, let's get some insurance runs.
