  1. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 06:43 PM) Remains to be seen if the guy is a stud. The closer has to shut it down. The bigger issue is Reed's stuff hasn't been as dominant as what we saw at the end of last year. Quintana threw like 7 pitches in the 8th inning. He was f***ing cruising. You don't pull a guy like that out for anyone, I don't care if he is Eric Gagne in the midst of 60 straight saves.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) The issue with him being paid on time and him expecting a raise because his company made money are completely separate in my mind. If the company is late on payroll, I'm looking for another job, not wondering why I didn't make incentive because the company made money. Its a startup company, there is an inherent risk in working there. s*** could hit the fan and then you have no job. It happened to me, I got laid off in november 05. The only difference is I had to tell my wife and child I had no job. He threw the generation Y comment out there, which is pretty ridiculous considering the state of the economy and the unemployment issues in the country. I worked for 8 months for a startup and never made a dollar from them. I thought he was saying he would leave because of that, even if they were to give him a pay raise... And I get the economy and you should be happy you have a job and all, but a lot of those unemployed people are turning down the jobs like Ross has, so I'm not feeling too bad for them. Additionally, just because the job market blows doesn't give any company the right to mistreat their employees. The employers should be working to improve the economy and job market, not take advantage of it.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 06:10 PM) Well, Happy Fathers Day everyone. This clearly sucked, but nothing more to say about that debacle. Happy Father's Day, buddy! Enjoy your day!

I think you guys are being a bit harsh...if you can't even pay your employees the s***ty wage you're paying them on time, then yes, when you get a bit of operating cash, you should probably make up for it in some small way.
  5. I would have pitched to Abreu. Now we have to deal with this asshole bunting
  6. This is what we get for being so motherf***ing stupid
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) I'm not. Dunn weighs more than any of their batting averages. Hell, Alexei may weigh more. Sarcasm
  8. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:49 PM) These are the tough calls that a manager needs to make. I don't mind bringing in Reed to start the 9th, even though it didn't work out for us. Obviously Q was cruising and there was good reason to leave him in as well, but that also had the potential to be second guessed as well I think. To me that wasn't a simple decision. He had such an easy 8th...grr
  9. QUOTE (Wedge @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) I think if anything should be questioned it's why does Quintana get the kids glove treatment? If the closer can't close, that's a roster issue not a tactical problem. I don't mind bringing in Reed if q had thrown 100 pitches...but there is just no need to fix what isn't broken. Get the f*** out of the kid's way and let him finish it. Over managing.
  10. This really sucks. Pick Addison up, fellas.
  11. Glad we did that for the sake of using the closer in the closer's role.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) Why do we keep throwing him inside? No s***
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:35 PM) You should be in charge You are the biggest second-guesser here.
  14. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:35 PM) Just a good piece of hitting. Nice approach. Yeah, but you probably don't face him if you leave Quintana in.
  15. QUOTE (Wedge @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) What if Q blew it in the ninth? Questions we'll never have answers for. The difference is Q has dominated for 8 innings.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) Reed in Just not worth the risk, IMHO.
  17. QUOTE (Wedge @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) I also hate when the closer is called upon to his role. Just because someone decided to create some silly role at some point in time doesn't mean you should take out a starter that is dominating and has only thrown 77 pitches. Should we never allow a SP to throw a complete game? Why change what is working beautifully? What if Reed comes in and doesn't have s*** today?
  18. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) Stone just said undoubtedly that Reed will pitch the 9th. Yeah, Q looked like he was done...hanging his ams over the railing. I don't like it.
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Okay, wow, 58 pitches in 1944. That number is disputed
