The issue with him being paid on time and him expecting a raise because his company made money are completely separate in my mind. If the company is late on payroll, I'm looking for another job, not wondering why I didn't make incentive because the company made money. Its a startup company, there is an inherent risk in working there. s*** could hit the fan and then you have no job. It happened to me, I got laid off in november 05. The only difference is I had to tell my wife and child I had no job.
He threw the generation Y comment out there, which is pretty ridiculous considering the state of the economy and the unemployment issues in the country.
I worked for 8 months for a startup and never made a dollar from them.
I thought he was saying he would leave because of that, even if they were to give him a pay raise...
And I get the economy and you should be happy you have a job and all, but a lot of those unemployed people are turning down the jobs like Ross has, so I'm not feeling too bad for them. Additionally, just because the job market blows doesn't give any company the right to mistreat their employees. The employers should be working to improve the economy and job market, not take advantage of it.
