Additionally, just because the job market blows doesn't give any company the right to mistreat their employees. The employers should be working to improve the economy and job market, not take advantage of it.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh...if you can't even pay your employees the s***ty wage you're paying them on time, then yes, when you get a bit of operating cash, you should probably make up for it in some small way.
