  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 05:23 PM) Once again, for the 20th time. Zach Stewart had an ERA of 7.88 against all major league teams last year not named the Twins (and reality, their AAA affiliate with all their injuries). Good he is not. Serviceable depends upon your opinion. Wtf does last year have to do with it?
  2. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 05:02 PM) He's the long man, he's fine. I agree with you...
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 04:06 PM) So can we blame Gavin for the fact that the Sox should be going for their 15th win in a row? s***, I never thought of that.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 04:06 PM) Nope. I'm just saying what was the right play FUNDAMENTALLY. Whether he could or should have gone, that's another issue. Farmer and DJ both pointed the same thing out (watching tv feed with radio on). And Hawk and Stone both were fine with the play.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) Right people are b****ing about one of the few bad spots, instead of enjoying how regardless of what Floyd does the Sox are going to find ways to win games. If he was the third baseman and not the starting pitcher it might be a bit less annoying.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) Go halfway between 2nd and 3rd and then have to turn around and bust his butt to get back to 2B? Hmmm.... The ball drops, he still doesn't score. If he does the right thing fundamentally, he at least has a 50/50 shot to get to 3rd on Ichiro. As it turned out, we scored the run anyway, but he didn't do what he was taught to do in the minors. It was a f***ing rocket, and he was probably thinking I'm not tagging on a ball to Ichiro unless it's on the warning track.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 04:01 PM) Yeah b****ing about Gavin. Its 3-3 in the 3rd, Ichiro has 2 hrs (great players sometimes have great games). Pitching can be a fickle b****, even for top of the line starters, Gavin is what he is, but likely will keep the Sox in the game, which is all they need to win. No, he's sucked for a month now.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) Beckham continuing to pick away at the middle of the diamond. Very close play at 2B. Great baserunning there by Beckham...the opposite of Hudson's play. Have you missed Ichiro's career?
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) If you didnt know anything but this thread, youd think the Sox hadnt won in a month. So much negativity. It's just a built-up frustration with Gavin
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) Alexei looks like he's in slow motion today at the bat and in the field. That would have been a great play, but his play earlier on Ackley was strange. The Hangover
  11. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:50 PM) Could Gavin be any more of a loser? If he never pitches for us again, I won't care one bit. He's a punk. Jesus would never do that to him
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:49 PM) They always say how Ichiro could hit 20-30 homers if he wanted to...at this stage in his career, why doesn't he try to load up more often? Legitimately, he can hit the ball about as far as anyone in batting practice, so what does he have to lose? I guess they did try to move him to 3rd in the order, it didn't take, Seager took off with the bat and Ichiro was quickly moved back to leadoff again. I think he wants to keep piling up the hits total
  13. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) Ok beer run hope it's still tied when I comeback Pick me up some PBRs
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) With Avila struggling a bit the first half and now out for awhile, AJ definitely has a great shot to make it as the back-up. And he's one of the few guys on the team with a lot of national name recognition when fans outside of Chicago are filling out All-Star ballots. Of course, many of those fans dislike/boo him. Other than that, you've got Sale and Konerko. Viciedo and Dunn are pretty much long-shots. Avila was penciled into the lineup today before being removed, but I don't think he's out for awhile...
  15. He's leaving everything up. Could be ugly.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) Yikes, that was easy. He's going to throw that change-up when he gets 2 strikes. I've seen him pitch a couple times...he has a tendency to give up big innings.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) I believe it. Gavin never seems to throw a curve in the first inning to lefties until he gets two strikes. He sent them a letter showing how much worse his era was in the first inning on fastballs...the letter found its way to e pitching coach and Felix, and they made the adjustment. After the first game they did this, he acknowledged someone had pointed this out to them. I think your task is clear, Fathom.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:12 PM) Jeez Gavin...feel free to throw a curve once in a while. Did you ever read the story about how Dave Cameron got the Mariners to stop Felix from coming out with all fastballs at the beginning of the game?
