QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) I kept hearing it and thinking I was hearing it wrong. WTF Floyd? Third pitch? Cooper should make a mound visit every inning and tear him a new asshole

Does anyone else think its incredibly amateurish that they couldn't film that memorabilia w/o the glass?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) These are all just excuses. Not buying it. I'm sure we'll see 100 more excuses in this thread before it's said and done. Let's face it, our fan base is just very small. It can't be that small, or else the television contract wouldn't be worth that much. I hear you loud and clear though... -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) Tar? Rios? WTH? I don't think you want to put "tar" in a nickname with any African-American or Hispanic player. See Toni Morrison novel. He means The Alex Rios.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 10:44 AM) Viciedo would very much like to hit Lilly's mediocre fastball these days. But yes, Dodgers are definitely heading back towards middle of the pack. Giants should win that division, especially with Melky Ruth in their lineup. It'll be interesting to see if Colorado will once again go on a run in the fall after almost burying themselves to start the season...

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 09:37 AM) I think that sweep of Cleveland may have skewered those numbers a bit since those were 3 huge blowouts of the next closest team. Well it skewed them from the perspective that we increased the delta versus our RS and RA, and decreased theirs...but what the formula is seeing is that we've scored 40 runs more than we've allowed while Cleveland has allowed 18 more runs than they've scored. It's most likely using the two pythagoreans to calculate win totals and seeing that our win total is sustainable while Cleveland's is not.

QUOTE (Hawk09 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 09:30 AM) Dodgers have come back to the pack also...only 2 games better than the Sox for best record in MLB. Sox need to keep this rolling at home the next 8, so that when they go on the road vs the defending World Champ Cards and the best team in baseball Dodgers, they have some cushion. Being on a roll when they get to interleague play is a good concept, instead of waiting until they start interleague play to get on a roll. Roll into interleague play, then keep rolling! The Dodgers are not as good as their record suggests...they've been getting good pitching out of Ted Lilly/Aaron Harang/Chris Capuano...that will not continue at the rate they have been...and now Kemp looks like he may be out another month...I've been watching the Dodgers quite a bit lately...we are a much better team than they are right now.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 09:17 AM) http://www.coolstandings.com/baseball_stan...sn=2012&i=1 It appears to be based on some combination of your current record and the delta of your runs scored versus runs allowed. We have a good record and a fairly large delta, thus, we have the second highest percentage chance of making the postseason.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:42 AM) No, MLB doesn't want a bad relationship with the umpires. If Selig doesn't talk to Hawk, the umpires are going to be upset. Do you really think Bud and JR read Hawk the riot act? First, there is nothing Selig can do to discipline Hawk. Do you really think JR disagrees with Hawk's view? Not a chance. He didn't even apologize and wasn't sure if he ever would. They want Hawk to lighten up on the umpires. Its nothing new. JR has been asking him to do this for at least 15 years. Its not as if he's in danger of losing his job. Its all show. There's a reason these private conversations became public. No, I think you're looking far too much into this. I think Bud ripped him a new one for going off on his umpires. Its one thing when White Sox fans hear it, its another when it becomes a national story and everyone hears it. And btw, we went through this whole song and dance earlier in the thread...Selig can discipline Hawk and/or fire him.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:33 AM) They don't want announcers going off on every blown call and having their rant go viral, I'll give you that. The conversations Hawk had with JR and Bud though were just for show. If they were the "knockout" Hawk was telling everyone they were, he would have said he's not going to snap over umpires ever again and would have issued a public apology. He didn't apologize and said he couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again. So the umpires could feel better to the 224 listeners of the Mully and Hanley show? It seems like a bit of a stretch to make up this big conspiracy so that the umpires would feel better about the terrible call.

All the sudden, there are only two teams in the MLB with a better record than us, and they aren't better by much...

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 10:15 PM) Peavy Beckham with four great at-bats...shades of Brian Anderson (except we lost that game in SEA) Dunn (although he's going to strike out 250-300 times at this pace, who cares at this point?) Crain Addison DeAza and Alexei with big at-bats late after Viciedo K'ed 13-1 streak, 9 in a row, 9-1 away from our equalling our 26-5 run in 2010 13-4 away as well...

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) Beckham looking more and more dangerous each and every game, and at-bat. Could easily have 3 hits tonight if not for the great catch by Saunders in CF. Does anyone think this would have happened with Walker and Guillen still around? We'll never know, but doubtful. I'd sooner have a chance to drill the chick in Jester's avatar

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) I love Stoney but that was stupid. He said because of Cleve's win this "is a must." Too early for that, specially with Cleveland. One of the rare times we agree
