  1. CBS has us as 20-15 against RHP and 5-7 against LHP. We are 27-22 currently. Hmm.
  2. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 28, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) I missed the game because I work for a bunch of commies. Anyway, what was Sale featuring? Was he throwing more sliders than changes? I remember in his last start, he was throwing a 2 seamer or cutter that was sitting around 88-92, almost exclusively. Then in his last inning, he went with the 4 seamer and a sequence of slider, slider, change, change, slider when he got into trouble. There seemed to be some concern about his velocity, but he wasn't throwing the 4 seamer. It was more of a 2 seamer/cutter that moved away from righty's. He was throwing everything and locating it...this was the best stuff I've ever seen him have.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) I think what the Rays are doing is revolutionary. If you look at that team right now, especially w/o Longoria and Jennings for the last three weeks, it is mindblowing that they are able to win at the clip they do. I realize their pitching is stellar..but the edge they get from being on the cutting edge of data makes a difference.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 28, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) Today was very enjoyable. It's always fun to have Wimpy up there for a series. The two of them together really have a fun time...perhaps because they know it will be short-lived...but it's just like the two of them sitting at the bar bulls***ting about the good ole' days...and I love it. Wimpy's slap-happy sort of humor also cracks me up.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) Took me a while but I am now convinced this team is a contender. Watch out!
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:45 PM) If Morel is that big of a world of warcraft fan, that could explain the back trouble...
  7. DNA tests have recently revealed that Brent Morel is Brian Balta's younger brother.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Here's the post I wrote that in reply to: When someone else decides that everything Orlando does is a good reason to rip Morel, I can't respond? Sure you can.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) I did that? Yeah..."Brent is going to make you guys want to forget these posts if he can ever get healthy..."
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:29 PM) How's this then...I need him to be legitimately back to hitting at Charlotte before we call him back up, and if that means burning an option, I'd rather have that happen than see him up again until he can resume tearing the cover off the ball in AAA? That's fine...you can make any arguments you want...but I don't think it needs to go so far as you giving a hard time to people happy to see ODawg doing well...
  11. QUOTE (K-Rock @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) Has Adam had a game this year where he didn't strike out? Yes
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:23 PM) I can go back a month or so and find posts where I was dumbfounded over why he was suddenly striking out this much, because he is a much better contact hitter than what we saw this year. The first week of the season and the 2 games right after he had that cortisone shot, he was actually lining outside pitches the opposite way. Every other time was maddeningly weak. If it's not entirely because of his back, then I'll be stunned. Oh I remember your posts...but the thing is, you've defended him unconditionally for two years...so it's just an bit difficult to buy into this...I mean, when a guy goes as bad as Morel, it could be almost anything...it changes on a daily basis.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) The Sox training staff says he'll be fine with an appropriate training, strengthening, and rehab regimen. I'll take their word unless i have a reason not to. I think you're seeing what you want to see, Balta.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 03:12 PM) If you listened to Hawk, he's described Morel as basically being unable to bend over without pain, leading to him just being totally unable to deal with anything on the outside edge of the plate. If he's wincing and unable to square up that pitch, then yeah, he's going to be overly defensive on anything outside, because he couldn't hit it hard with his back and was just forced to protect. Come on, Balta...he's been struggling this way in every month that doesn't start with an S...
  15. This is one of those games where you're excited if your team even hits the ball
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:49 PM) 95 pitches, 69 strikes. Man it'd be nice to see him out there for a couple more innings, but it's not worth the risk At least one more
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) This could be Sale's last inning, he's getting up there in pitches. No way
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) Remember when Adam Dunn couldn't hit lefties? To be fair, his cousin couldn't hit righties particularly well either...
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) Thanks for throwing him first pitch fastball, when it was obvious he was looking for it in his 2nd AB And his first
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:36 PM) For anyone wondering whether the Sox are just off today or it's Moore...ther'es your answer. That might have been the worst anyone has made Konerko look all year. You could see it in their eyes in the first innng
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Yeah, Dunn seems to have the right approach Ahem
  22. PK could learn from that approach Dunn has against Moore
