What a run! He threw that guy like 5 feet with one arm!
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Ya, I thought about that right when I posted and logically that certainly makes sense. I'll have to see the play again though, for some reason when I first saw it I actually did think it was a mistake. If you look at the reactions of the Seahawks players and coaches after the delay penalty, no one was upset or surprised. Carroll wasn't really even paying attention, he was talking to someone on the sideline. Sure seems odd if they took a critical penalty there.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) Haha, I was waiting for someone to bring that up because I would have myself if Seattle hangs on. And no I am not, though I still expect the Saints to pull this out. That delay of game mishap by the Hawks of Sea was huuuuge. All that being said, definitely rooting for Seattle to hold on here! It wasn't a mishap. They were never going to kick that fg. It was a 53 yarder and they just lined up to see if the Saints would do something stupid. The delay doesn't hurt your field position if you're going to pooch it there.
-
I hate to inform these announcers, but the Seahawks were never intending on kicking that fg.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) Some of these throws are easy though. The Throw to Williams was spot on, but it was complete because Williams had the defense beat. The 2 TD's to the TE were wide open throws. The two tds to Carlson were easy throws, but come on, Hassleback hasn't had a game like this in 3 years. Hey Rowand, you still thinking 0%?
-
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) Who dat?? In all serious, the Bears are better than the Seahawks, but Hasselback will pick apart the Cover-2, so if the Bears do end up playing them, Cutler better be ready to put some points on the board. Well, this level execution we're seeing right now is ridiculous. You cannot going to make throws like this every game.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 06:20 PM) I think that was Balta's way of saying that he thinks Philly is going to win. Perhaps, but he also likes to keep everyone on their toes... I'm somewhat shocked by what I'm seeing here. I thought if the Seahawks were to have any chance, it would have to be a lower scoring game. They're looking pretty solid, not unlike how they looked against us when they beat us. Should be a great second half.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) You're a Falcons fan? Yeah, we'd need Green Bay to beat Philly too.

JUST missed a pick 6 there

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) Saints aren't doing much to stop Seattle The Saints faced the weakest schedule, in terms of opposing quarterbacks faced, of any team in the NFL. Their defense is apparently a bit overrated, as is their offense. I was pretty high on their defense until I saw the numbers for the season. Hoping the Seachickens can get a stop here.
-
Hasslebeck looks sharp. Both offensive coordinators doing a great job with playcalling.
-
The Saints got away with a ridiculous hold around midfield. I have no clue how the side judge missed it. Otherwise Seattle just can't stop the Saints.
-
Got the Colts at -1.5...even better!
-
I'm thinking: Seattle +10 Indianapolis -2.5 Kansas City +3.5 Philly -2.5 Changed my mind on the Philly game...I have been thinking Green Bay will win this potential matchup for a few weeks now but I'm going to go with Philly and the home advantage now after seeing the Bears slow down Rodgers and crew last week.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 12:42 PM) MSRP's for what I have been looking at are about 45k. I am trying to see what possible deals they have so I believe I will get them down closer to 41ish. I might have to drive it. I drove past a dealership last night and glanced at a few and they are really sharp looking SUVs. I really like the interior styling as well, which doesn't happen all that much.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 07:42 AM) btw and fwiw, many years ago I thought of something. I was buying new cars every three years and enjoying some nice rides. I got to thinking if I buy 16 new cars in my lifetime that was going to be a fair amount of money. Not even going higher end, just saying an average of $25k I would be looking at $400,000 in my lifetime. Then I looked at my retirement planning and punched in some numbers. Ask yourself, is driving a less expensive car and keeping it longer, worth retiring four or five years sooner? Maybe at 60 instead of 65? Edmunds has a few really solid tools available to the consumer, one being their "true cost of ownership" tool. It will give you the cost of owning a new car versus a used car, model by model, including factors like financing new versus used, depreciation, and maintenance. Some newer cars can be cheaper to own than different cars a few years old. You just really have to do the research.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 8, 2011 -> 01:01 PM) BigSqwert is tall as s***. Gee, I can't imagine how he came up with that screen name of his...

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) Felt very un-jeep. The ride was so incredibly quiet, almost lexus-like, until you really stomped on the Hemi. I am seriously considering this car. What kind of deal you think you can swing? I am seeing MSRP's out here in the $42k range....so something around $40k?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) FX50 test drive today. Its basically a g37 with a ballooned out trunk. The V8 felt exactly like my v6 in my little G, and you are a touch higher up. I dont know if I like the looks at all though, it really looks to me like a station wagon with a serious engine in it. I just cannot get over buying an SUV that cannot do any work offroad whatsoever. And it didnt even have any real towing package. I'm going back to take a 2nd look at the JGC overland today to see if I can get them to lower their price. Just checked the Overland...wow, I really like that, Rock. Nice looking SUV, not mammoth, but not one of these crossovers, very nice interior, lots of features. How does the build quality feel?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) Shack, You ever seen this guy's channel? I searched R8 and caught this guy just smoking every car possible in a GC SRT8 http://www.youtube.com/user/SRT8Vortech#p/u/3/jUIs5UH2jo0 Nope...that's one fast Jeep though. Did they come off their price at all?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) Now is the time to go for the money yo. What you pull of in negotiations could put you 1-4 years ahead in terms of reviews/raises. Your best chance to make money is during negotiations. I recommend going in with a high number. Yeah, the key is to choose the highest number possible without hitting the "oh geez" point where they roll their eyes at you. They posted a range in the listing. I am going to start out high in the range but not at the highest point. Congrats on the raise, Steve!

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Yeah when Betty found him hiding and invited him in the house I was starting to get very uncomfortable. Just keep watching...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) We watched a couple more episodes last night. What the heck was with that whole thing with the seemingly incestuous family that he ran off with? What a strange episode. Felt almost like a David Lynch episode with the weird cast of characters. And the very next episode they were all gone. Seemed like some odd continuity. Yeah, that is probably the weirdest episode in the entire series thus far. I think they like to stress just how self-centered and self-indulgent Don Draper can be. The whole thing with the neighborhood boy Glen really weirds me out.

So it looks like early next week they are going to offer me this position, with a starting date of Jan 31st if I accept. I hate to seem crude, but this is all going to come down to $. If they make it worth my while to make the switch, I will take a bit of a leap of faith. If they just expect me to switch over for some promotion in title only, well, that title isn't enough to make me do it. Should be an interesting week. Perhaps I should read the Art of War over the weekend.

Looks like a decent car on the website, although I haven't seen it in person yet... I researched that Boxster Spyder all night and I think I must have it. Going to keep my eye on the private party used market to see if I can avoid paying sales tax. Checked the insurance and while it isn't cheap, it's not a huge increase either. I watched videos of the car on youtube all night )
