QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) I dunno, I think the Giants have just about as many weapons (much much stronger running game) and a defense that certainly can hang with the packers, if that line plays together. The Giants have Smith and Manningham out for the season, don't they?

What a horses*** call.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 05:17 PM) What does Lovie do for the second half? Bears clearly playing well enough to beat Packers. So does he let the starters leave with confidence or does he risk that let them try to win the game? Very interesting. I think you really have to try and keep them from making the playoffs. As long as the game is close or we are winning, keep them in. Fine if you want to stay conservative, but keep trying to win.

Another great series. Really frustrating Rodgers now.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 05:09 PM) Have you never sat in on a marketing meeting? I actually found it funny, as I was writing that post, there was a Ford commercial on, showing trucks going over rocks, all sorts of manly things...and their slogan "Built Tough". The double-sharp-T in the slogan to catch your ear. Exactly the same usage. Hollywood does this all the time too. People get the T sound or the end-K sound inserted in their name to add some edge to how it's pronounced. Is that why The Rock is going by Dwayne Johnson now? I kid, I kid...

Sure looked like he was offsides there to me.
-
I love that we are getting Davis the ball a lot. I don't worry about him being out there much

Do you guys notice that when other team's offenses are out there with the play clock running down, their head coach is always right there able to get a timeout? Where is Lovie when this is happening? Second time now that Lovie hasn't stepped in and called it.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) Hawk 6-1, 247 Cutler 6'3, 233 Just sayin'. But BJ Raji is one monster of a human. I bet if we looked at Cutler and Hawk with their shirts off, there would be no mistaking who is more capable of hurting the other...

Yay, Houston! Now shut down this Jacksonville running game and blow their doors off.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) AJ Hawk is 330 lbs? Oh whatever, you know what I meant, you goof. Two big guys that could pummel him.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) At least the Bears have 2 weeks. I still say they're better off getting the practice, even if they fail at stuff. Oh I agree...it's just frightening to see him get caught in-between two 330 pounders like that.

Meanwhile, any time that happens in this game we are gambling quite a bit ourselves.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Wait a half second longer and GB has to go with Flynn even if they make the playoffs. Yeah, I think that's what occurred to him when he first thought he might be able to pick it up.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Rogers trying to run for a 1st down with Briggs there...yeah, not very smart. Well, he saw the writing on the wall pretty quickly there and went down.
-
Very encouraging to see this out of our defense.
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) That was one of Cutler's "I AM THE GOD OF FORCED THROWS" Well, the mini-god. Favre will always be the true god of forced throws.
-
Oh Jay. We don't need a clunker going into the playoffs.
-
Nice job DJ! This is exactly what GB cannot afford to do. If they execute early, we will give up. If they let us hang around, me just try to win.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) After GB failed to convert on 3rd, I changed the channel to the Colts game after reading this post. I then immediately thought "WTF am I doing, GB is punting!" and changed back. Hah...you got that right.
-
Yay Houston. Big stop for the Bears. The longer we stay in the game the longer we actually try to win. If Green Bay jumps out to a 10-14 point lead, I think we pull most of the starters.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) The Raiders are the first team since the AFL/NFL merger to go undefeated in their division and not make the playoffs. Yeah, that is incredible. And reading that Cable is probably not going to return, which surprises me.
-
QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) Yeah but I didnt think they would be so blatant about it. Then again when the score 20-13 with 7 minutes left, they recovered a Bucs fumble at the Tampa Bay 30 and they brought in Chase Daniels. If their seeding isn't going to change, they'd probably rather the Bucs get in then Green Bay or NYG, to be honest.
-
QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 04:02 PM) lol, the Saints just laid down for the Bucs just now. Saints had 4th and 1 from the 50, down 23-13 with 2:08 to play and they punted the ball. No reason to even bother, with the Falcons winning 31-3. I don't blame them.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) Yeah, he fits there at least for now. Sorta surprised that they're not waiting on Jeff Fisher. Despite what McDaniels did in Denver, I think the success of Sean Payton and Rahim Morris has given some owners some confidence that going with a young guy can work well.
