QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) I don't think they don't exist. I actually think there is clutch hitting, it does exist. But no way in hell does it to the extent some people think it does. Derek Jeter's made a living off of intangibles and clutchness. It's ridiculous. Ugh, and of course you bring up like the worst example ever. Aren't Jeter's playoff numbers pretty similar to his career numbers? I'm too lazy to look, but my belief was just that he has had so many post season opportunities that he just happens to be successful in those opportunities more than anyone else because of the sheer quantity of them.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) I do what I want. If I refuse to give up the Lebronasty in Chicago, I refuse to give it up. I dont care what the reports say, I dont care who's "sources" have told them what. I just cant imagine Lebron giving up his dreams to be on Miami. Maybe he will, maybe Wade smooth talked him into believe that everyone will think Lebron is the greatest. Or that whats most important is a great team. But I just cant see it. I cant see a guy who wants to be MJ playing the role of the follower. Ask the question, What would Michael do? Would Jordan have left the Bulls to play for the Pistons if it meant he would have been guaranteed titles? Would he have played on Thomas's team? Would he have gone to LA to play with Magic and be on Magic's team? No, Michael wanted to be on Michael's team. And until proven otherwise I believe Lebron wants to be on Lebron's team. And that means he has to call the shots, and it means that if he was going to go to Miami, that he would have announced first. He would not have let Bosh/Wade steal his thunder. I could be 100% wrong, but I just dont see it. That's fine, Badger. But you can say 400 times "He's not going to Miami." That doesn't make it any less so. So how about we all just wait and see what the man says tonight?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) OMG I hate intangibles. That along with clutchness have decreased the IQ of sports fans by at least 30-40 points. While I agree with you for the most point, it is quite possible to be a bit too far on the other side of the spectrum.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) LeBron is moving from the 26th Metro area to the 7th biggest. I'm sure the NBA is all torn up. Right. As opposed to the 1st and 3rd.

Give it up guys, the dude is going to Miami.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) Actually, the Paul thing might mean nothing, he and LeBron are good friends. But then again, it could mean something. (How's that for quality insight?) That is Maverick Carter's company that LeBron is bankrolling. It means nothing.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:08 AM) My last prediction: Lebron to the Heat. And this is the main reason why... http://twitter.com/chrisbosh/status/17553214058 I think it's been planned for some time now, just needed the details to be ironed out. Well it's obvious they've been talking about the possibility for a while. It's just a question of whether they would be willing to share the money as well as the spotlight...

That is a great graphic you made...but are you drunk?

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:33 AM) Why haven't the terms of the Bosh deal been disclosed yet? The absence of anything makes me believe Lebron's choice isn't so set in stone. Almost as if Bosh is thinking, if Lebron is here, I'm going to sign outright with Miami; if he isn't, I'll go for sign and trade to earn the money. They said today that they hadn't got that far along yet. They probably knew damn well LeBron might come to Miami so they had to wait to figure out the money till later.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:26 AM) I never thought I'd actually root for Cleveland but after all of this s*** please let him resign or come to the bulls. The Miami thing would infuriate me. My thoughts on this subject and also my facebook status If Lebron James signs with the heat he immediately becomes the biggest p**** in sports, he basically says that I need wade and bosh to win a ring and cant do it alone when he has the talent to do it himself as the main piece in any other city in america. Lebron I hope you enjoy your rings in Miami because you will never ever touch Jordan as the greatest of all time by going there. That is true...I never thought that far ahead or really bought into the legacy bulls***, but he will never definitively be considered the best ever being a part of that trio. And you know what? Maybe he is fine with that.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:16 AM) Broussard gave many excuses for why he might not end up picking the Heat, so even though I would say Heat have to be considered the front runner, Cavs fans shouldn't start jumping off the bridge just yet. How would he have quotes from a final decision but not have made up his mind yet?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:11 AM) Yes, one they showed was "I don't want to sign a 6 year deal and end up being a 31 year old with bad knees and no titles". Sounds like Bosh declining to go to the Cavs was the turning point, if true. Wow. Why the f*** would they scoop their own show? Just too many leaks?
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:42 PM) He was the one who reported the Wade and Bosh to Miami deal this morning and does have inside sources as well. Broussard might flip-flop on his "predictions," but he is spot on when it comes to sources directly. That's not what I was getting at...I was the one claiming Broussard knew his s*** about 30 pages ago. My point was that ESPN is airing the special.

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:39 AM) Chris_Broussard Sources with knowledge of the situation indeed saying LeBron will join Wade and Bosh in Miami, barring a late change of heart Interesting that an espn reporter chimes in...

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:31 AM) Bulls silence. No Bulls rumors with Lerbon. Boozer randomly jumping on a deal less than what he ultimately could have gotten elsewhere or here. Boozer signing for just enough to leave the Bulls with a max. Ford reporting the Bulls "skipped" on Wade because they want the bigger fish. Best roster where he can still be "the man". I'll be here tomorrow night to simply smile cuz I'll be severely incapacitated already, or I'll simply say I was f***ing wrong I suck. But I'm feelin good right now. It's nice that you can at least convince yourself...

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:17 AM) Anyone else remember Rob Pelinka from Michigan basketball a long time ago? Oh yes, wasn't he the 6th or 7th man on the fab 5 team? Except he was a junior or something...
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) I think the Bulls have very little chance, as I'd put them 4th. I'd go with Cleveland, New York, and Miami in that order. I don't trust a single word that anyone has said about the situation. What is telling to me is he's announcing his decision so close to New York City. Supposedly Carmelo is getting married in NY.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) I'm only referring to Castro by his nickname(s) from now on, btw. Have an easy inning Bobby. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to catch on...

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) Zach Zaidman ZachZaidman RT @alanhahn: Multiple sources are telling Newsday that LeBron James has decided to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. 5 minutes ago via TweetDeck Notice it comes from a non-espn source.

I never thought Hunter would hit as well for the Angels as he has.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) If KW doesn't wind up trading him while his value is high to get say.. a bat for instance.. that's huh. No, I didn't understand what you were trying to say...you mean you can't believe we have a player on the big league club that is 21...I gotcha...I just didn't understand what you were saying.
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:35 PM) In our ballpark.. I can see 30+ easily actually. Now 40... we'll see. Still can't believe he have a guy who is only 21 though. Seems like it's been forever, though I believe since Sweeney. (Hudson and I believe Danks just missed) That is of course... if he isn't traded. Huh?

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:35 PM) Except Jason Bartlett is pretty awesome. Jason Bartlett has resumed sucking again this year.
